This family owned oasis makes the best bagels. hands down, this side of Brooklyn (and Kinderhook). Chewy, flavorful, and generously sized they're worth a special trip from almost anywhere. The Slingerlands location is the newest expansion of the parent shop located in Kinderhook. There are breakfast options, mostly eggs of one sort or another, plus pastries ("brought in every week") and an assortment of spreads for the bagels. BUT choose carefully. The "cream cheese with lox" was a disappointment - the entire sandwich had plenty of cream cheese and, maybe, two tiny specs of salmon. Huge disappointment. read more

Broad Street Bagel has probably the best bagels in the Capital region! They are so light unlike a lot of other bagel spots and they also offer pastries, bagel sandwiches, and other delicious treats. Coffee is always good, and they tend to have some fun seasonal latte options like the Peeps latte I got for springtime! I love that they have outdoor space to enjoy in addition to the indoor seating. Dare I say, best bagel I have ever had?! I woke up Saturday morning extra early and I was craving a bagel, I remembered that Broad Street Bagel opened a spot in Slingerlands. A quick 11 minute drive from Colonie, I was there before 8am. It's a very unassuming spot in what seems to be an apartment complex. Only a few people were inside and I was greeted by the most amazing scent of fresh bagels. I ordered an egg everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, not toasted. I am a firm believer that fresh bagels do not need to be toasted, and I made the correct choice. I also ordered an iced coffee, it was better than I expected so that's a plus. I sat in one of the booths and when I had my first bite, It turned into a spiritual experience. It was soft, but dense, chewy, savory, the cream cheese tasted fresh and the cold cream cheese against the soft and chewy bagel was a bite sent from the heavens. I sat there is awe that I just found the best bagel I have ever had, 11 minutes from my home. I have had bagels from all over that can't top this. I savored every bite, it made my day. As someone from Long Island, I'm always on the hunt for a good BEC in Albany to satisfy the craving and Broad street bagel is pretty decent! If I had to rank them, I'd put Broad street at the top but there's also not many places around here. The bagel was pretty good! I've heard lots of good things about this place and am glad they opened one closer to Albany than Kinderhook! Could have a harder shell but that could have also be due to the fact that I ordered for pick up which was super quick and easy. The store is also pretty amenable and clean to doing work in too. It's fine. They make a good chewy bagel, nothing super special. The cream cheese selection is good and the space is nice. Service leaves something to be desired. The girl taking orders when we were there on a Saturday morning was highly unenthused and just wordlessly pointed to a board on the wall when we asked her a question. My partner wanted the lox cream cheese, it was correct on the receipt stapled to our bag, but what he got was the pimento olive -- not sure what happened there, but we were already home when we noticed so he just ate it. I've always wanted to take the ride to Kinderhook to try these but never did. I'm sooo glad they opened this Slingerlands location. It was jumping on a Saturday at 10Am. I was first hooked on broad Street bagels when they became available at the four corners. Sadly, they stopped carrying them, but I was very excited when I heard about them opening up a new location. So I have been here for bagels a few times and it's been fine. It's down the street from my house as well so awesome! Today I thought I'd order a pizza for my co-workers. After looking at the menu, we ordered the "Special" Grandma Pie. It was supposed to be an 18" thin crust Sicilian type with basil, tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. It was, after tax, $31.31. Why any pizza without something special on it costs that much is beyond me but I digress. My husband picked it up (that was another debacle but he can post a review about that) and brought it to my workplace. It was nothing like as described on the menu. It was a regular, focaccia style (not thin crust), no tomatoes (sauce only), dried basil and not fresh mozzarella. My husband went back to address it with them and the response was "well you didn't order a specialty pie" so he showed her the menu that states the Grandma Pie is a specialty pie. Then the response was "well we switched to focaccia." When he asked why they didn't tell us that when we called there was no answer. The crust style is not corrected on the menu to whatever this is. Then, he addressed the fact that there are no tomatoes on it. She said "they are underneath the cheese." They are not. Then he said "this isn't fresh mozzarella" to which again....no response. I paid $31.31 for a large cheese pizza. Save your money and go anywhere else where a large cheese pizza that will actually be the one you ordered and the staff won't argue with you about it will cost, at most, $20.00. I guess we will be skipping the bagels as well now. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I placed an order online and the instruction state to add a specified pick up time in the notes. I added my specified time in the notes for two days from now as I'm picking up bagels for a large company event. I called the phone number listed on the website and a man answers the phone with "hello". I had to ask if I was calling the right place. He proceeded to tell me my order was ready for pick up and that there was no note. He told me "the customer isn't always right"'and I should have known to call in the order. I stated that I followed the instructions on their website to put pick up time in the notes. He hung up on me. Needless to say I will not be picking up this order and will never be back. read more

Odd stuff happens all the time in this world. On 8/26/25 at 10am I ordered a plain bagel, a poppy bagel and a small veggie cream cheese. The receipt said what I ordered correctly. The packing slip that was stapled to the bag got it right. The guy who put the order in the bag put in 2 plain bagels and a small regular cream cheese. The bagels are pretty good. They don't seem like they're made on location though. While I was waiting for my bagel, I made the mistake of asking the pizza guy if they had a menu. He told me no, because they will be in a soft opening for the next two months. He was mildly obnoxious, almost a parody of an Italian. Very much like a cartoon character.
