I've been to one of their other locations before so I knew what to expect. Parking was easy and the wait at the counter was short as they are super efficient. I ordered a pumpkin dirty chai and it came out within 2 minutes and was super tasty. Definitely recommend!

The few times I have been it is always slammed but the line moves pretty quickly and great service. I will say that I have had the bagel toasted and un toasted and I actually prefer no toasting with a sandwich. With a good bagel you don't really need to toast it anyways. Definitely one of the best lox bagels I've had outside of the NYC! Always try to stop in during my travels on the thruway

The Uncommon Grounds at Stuyvesant Plaza may be the region's busiest coffeehouse. The line to order was long on a Sunday afternoon. It snaked almost out the front door. I went with a friend. She had the day's special which I think was called a pistachio raspberry latte. I got a small hot Matcha latte with soy milk. I've been on a Matcha kick lately. This one was exceptionally foamy and not very sweet. So it was great. Fortunately, the line to order and pay moved quickly. The next issue--was to find seating--which we did. There was a lot of seating but much of it was filled. Between the long lines and filled tables, there was quite a crowd. It was a great place for people watching and sharing conversation. The decor is tasteful and much fancier than the other Western Avenue location. There are also many varieties of bagels and baked goods. The bagel sandwiches looked tasty. We had such a good time that I forgot to take a photo of my latte. I'll remember next time. My friend thought this coffeehouse was quite a find so I'm sure we'll be back with more friends.

Great spot and an amazing alternative to table service spots in Stuyvesant Plaza. The place is chill with many tables and booths. A lot of people appear to come here to study and do work on their computers so it's relatively quiet. Blueberry crumb muffin and their bagels are delicious. Lattes and cafe au laits are on point. Liked this place so much I came here twice during my stay in Albany. Cool art on the walls too!

I am a frequent flyer to uncommon grounds. I held my composure today and just got a sandwich, but I usually get the bagels and cream cheese to bring home. They keep well in the freezer or a few days in your bread box. They have great bagels. Hearty, delicious, a little bready if you are picky but so satisfying. I love the variety of bagels and cream cheese flavors. I am a sucker for a crispy cheese encrusted bagel and they nail that every time. I love the jalapeño cheddar bagels too. The everything bagels are a classic. The cream cheese varieties always suck me in. I love the bacon scallion. I got the sausage egg and cheese bagel sandwich today and I was a little underwhelmed because of the lack of flavor, but I can't knock them too hard because I come here all the time for the bagels. The need to season the eggs and maybe upgrade the sausage patties or get them seared before serving, the sandwich was flat and under seasoned. I'll be back for more bagels.

I was in town with my wife and daughter for a nearby college orientation. We needed something to eat and some caffeine before getting back on the road. Saw the solid reviews on Yelp and figured it was worth a shot. This location feels modern and clean. The staff was pleasant and professional. Prices were reasonable for the quality. I went with a sesame bagel with hummus and a Tibetan Raspberry black tea. My wife had an iced coffee and my daughter had an everything bagel with cream cheese. In a world of chain restaurant "bagels", the bagels at Uncommon Grounds are the real deal! Tea was delicious also! I look forward to returning when I'm visiting my daughter.

There's a reason why there can be two locations within a mile of each other and both still be busy. Uncommon Grounds is an ideal place to get a coffee and breakfast sandwich. Their bakery items are also 10/10. I got a chocolate chip cookie once that was bigger than my hand. Expect to take your stuff to go though. My recent visit was the first time I've been there and was able to sit down. If you go during a busy time, also expect a thank you next attitude from the staff. When the line is out the door, they are just trying to move everyone along that customer service can fall by the wayside sometimes.

I give this place a high 3. Located in stuyvesant so parking is relatively easy to find in the lot. The place was super busy but the line moved quickly. Lots of seating options, including booths and tables. Ended up being able to snag a table for two while waiting for our food. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel and an iced coconut latte. The sandwich was okay, the bagel was nice and soft but nothing outstanding. The latte syrup was stuck at the bottom and I tried to stir and stir but the coconut flavor didn't begin to hit until the last few sips. I also added in two packets of equal sweetener since I felt it was lacking in any sweetness (I don't typically like my coffee to sweet but this tasted a bit too bitter to me at first). I did like that there was no additional charge for a milk alternative. Overall it was okay and prices are reasonable, I would go again but definitely have a few other spots I'd prefer for a sando or coffee.

I wanted to go to a coffee shop to do some work and this was a really nice place to do so! It does get a bit loud because of how busy it is but that's definitely understandable given their food and coffee! I enjoyed my latte and the prices were also really nice because it was only around $4 when I decided to add oat milk too! I would love to be back to try a bagel next time since they seemed to have some fun flavors like jalapeño cheddar!

Visiting the Albany area coming from California this place is great. You'll get the great college student, family friendly looking coffee bar. Despite the Starbucks is right across the parking lot this gets a lot of attention. The service is great especially they can give you all the low down on the best cup of joe and bagel sandwiches. I personally love Lox and this place gives ample amount of Salmon Cured meat and salty briny of capers and the right amount of creamy cream cheese. I had the Americano and man it never disappoints my caffeine-filled heart. I truly recommend to come here but FYI there's tons of student that might want your seat. Bathroom is clean and all-gender welcome.

our weekly Sunday tradition involves treating ourselves to some Uncommon Ground bagels ^_^ my usual order is the Lox of Love with a side of hot chocolate , but I've always been curious about their sweet bagels and cream cheese. This time, we decided to split the Lox of Love on a jalapeño cheddar bagel with the mouthwatering choco chip bagel and strawberry cream cheese, and it was absolutely delish! :D Uncommon Grounds is usually bustling with customers, and it's no wonder because the bagels are fantastic! So, be prepared to wait in line for a bit sometimes. As a remote worker, I also appreciate that it's a great option to work from; you'll often see a bunch of people working here too.

This place is incredibly popular, and for good reason! We arrived at 9am on a Saturday and the line was to the door, by 9:30 it was wrapped all the way around the seating area. Luckily, the line moved very quickly so you aren't waiting for too long. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. They have a good selection of day old bagels at a reduced price, which make great breakfast for the rest of the week. I got a Mediterranean breakfast sandwich on a cheddar parm bagel and it was very good! My friend had a gift card she got for her birthday that she hadn't used yet and there was apparently an error with how it was purchased and the staff told her it was not activated so she couldn't use it. I understand that they couldn't activate it just based on what she said and the error must have occurred when the card was originally purchased, so hopefully that isn't something that happens often. They also don't have any recycling inside but they serve iced coffee in plastic cups.

The fourth in this tiny chain of coffee shops opened in an upscale strip mall / plaza in December '22. 2023 07 05.
