The owner & choreographer Miss India has done AMAZING with my daughter growth. My daughter started off as a Broadway Baby and now she has earned her position on Broadway Competition Team Season 9. As a Broadway Baby Miss India & Miss Dee worked with these young ladies and cared for them as their own. I love the sisterhood that has been formed with all the ladies ranging from 4-18. Miss India believes in hard work, respect, sister hood & good grades. One of the quote my daughter says a lot is " if you miss up you just keep going" my daughter use this quote on a daily. I can see a big change in her confidence and she ALWAYS EXCITED to go to class. This is our 3rd studio and I'm impressed and we are Broadway Parents for life! To add also the communication from MsIndia is AMAZING. The monthly schedule comes out two months at a time and if anything changes which is rare she communicates that as well via email, parents group chat, Broadway App and/or text msg.

We walked through lush English gardens with reflecting pools, overhanging trees, down brick stairs and across broad lawns, to come upon the little stage tucked away, like a secret find at the far end of the garden. There were young loves in fancy dress & starched shirts on picnic blankets tucking away the remnants of takeout chinese, older couples uncorking glasses of merlot over plates of lamb and potatoes, newlywed grad students in shorts & t-shirts throwing back bottled beers, married couples pretending they were dating again holding hands after a delicious meal across the street (that would be us), and a general sense of merriment and kindness you don't often find at too-highbrow art performances. But, this is no regular community theater performance... these folks are AWESOME. Really well done. Really well-played and really accessible Shakespeare, with everyone in the audience (about 50--it was an almost-rainy night) laughing in all the right places. A beautiful night, a funny story, a marvelous troupe, an appreciative audience, and wine... what more could you ask for?

The Morton Theater is over 100 years old and located in downtown historic Athens, GA. I was at the…read moretheater recently for the International Championship of Collegiate A Capella - which was amazing! The theater is small so there isn't really a bad seat in the house. But it is a historic theater so there are a couple downsides - such as there are 2 bathrooms total for men and women and it isn't really wheelchair friendly. Overall though it makes for an intimate, worthwhile experience.

I spoke to the Manager and she said that they do not know anything about the production companies prior to their show dates. Last minute idea for a Sunday Funday option. This little school house is in downtown Cumming and is…read morecertainly a blast from the past. It's a 1920s school turned into a theater, with a majority of the original school intact. I was able to get some last minute tickets for the show, The Producers, literally 2 hours before the play. Cost was not bad at all, $25/person. They offer a VIP experience too, for another $25/person, that comes with heavy hors d'ouevres and non-alcoholic drinks (not offered on Sundays). Parking was not bad. We got there early and ordered drinks from the bar (fairly full bar of offerings). Costs on alcohol were not bad either. It was fun touring the school house and seeing all the old pictures of class photos taken there, and all the frames photos of previous plays put on. Even the school rooms had the window above the doorway. There is also a restaurant in back with some great mural art/paintings on the wall. The theater was fairly large and presented well, with cushy seats and convenient drink holders. My expectations were low and I was very much surprised by the skill level of the cast and how well the show was run. I've never been to Broadway but I've been to the Fox, and this show would equal some of the stuff I've seen there or at other theaters. Very talented cast! The show was also incredible. Overall, this was a wonderful visit. If you live in the area, you'd be crazy not to check out a show here!

The Powell's were very kind to the actors in the show I did with them, but not to my parents. Very…read moreshort and rude. It was much more expensive compared to other shows, and just not very good for kids. They had us all staying very late (until ten at night or later), which made us all very tired the next day. Instead of providing us all costumes, some had to pay for their own. Not very good with their planning, nor sticking with their plans. Overall ok because I made new friends and it was a new experience, but I know that there are way better places out there.

The box office is open Monday through Friday, from 10:00a to 5:00p and an hour before performances. Surface lot parking is complimentary for performances at the Performing Arts Center. This was our first visit to the facility. We drove to Athens to see the Branford Marsalis quartet. The venue was nicely appointed, with comfortable seating and amazing lighting. From our seats in the mezzanine, we were perched over the musicians, and could perfectly view the performance. Unfortunately, we were behind the speakers, so while our sight line was uninterrupted, the sound was uneven and dull. Armed with this new information, our choice of seats will definitely change for future events.

While they put on good shows, I'm going to speak out as a parent of a recently graduated student…read more GTA purports to be a true professional development program, a conservatory-style theatre program. Yet they invest ZERO effort in providing the tools their graduates can use to bridge into professional work. No film samples graduates can use in their audition work. This is a VERY basic portfolio development step that any real theatre program worth its salt should be making. But no one from the recently graduated classes has anything to show prospective casting directors of their work over the last four years. If you're contemplating sending your kid to GTA, think hard on that decision.
