I had been frustrated with creaking noise issue when turning. I went to Firestone and Honda Service for diagnosis. They pointed on the struts. I replaced them and I still heard the same noise. My friend asked me to talk to Abe at Broadway Auto Service. His mechanic sat down with me in the car and made sure we are hearing the same noise. After replacing sway bar links and lower ball joints, the noise gone and the car feels like new. I would highly recommend Broadway quality auto. read more

I've had so many terrible experiences with car places in the past that I hate the thought of taking my car to anyone anymore. Being in any car service place is a stressful experience for me. I'm always expecting them to try and take advantage of me, sell me things I don't need, or overcharge me. I tried Broadway Auto Care because of Groupon, and they took really good care of me. They took my car right in when I got there and had it back to me within an hour. I fully expected them to try and sell me additional things, but they didn't. I've gone to this place three times so far and have been happy with the quality of repair done on my car. The mechanics seem to know what they are talking about, and can explain the procedures clearly. Prices are reasonable and sometimes competitive. The only downside is that they are not good about calling back customers. Officially can't be trusted. Took my car in cause check engine light is on. Man complaining about being over charged when I get there. Get a call the next day, my coils are shot and in order to fix coils I need to get a tune up. I just got a tune up in the fall and I told them . They are adamant I have faulty wires and need tune up on top of coils. ...when I get there to pick it up another man is complaining "I don't understand why I need the tune up to fix the coils, and why do I get charged labor and a diagnostic fee" Uggh, they pulled the same scam on 2 guys and had them pick up at the same time. I've had two kinds of work done at this shop, and I'm a happy customer. First, I've had lots of tires worked on here. From our little riding mower to our Ranger pickup, they do a good job at a good price. They handle some kinds of tire work that their sister shop, Broadway Shell, doesn't handle. I've also had my Ranger worked on there, to replace the U-joint. The work was done well and a lot faster than I expected. The mechanic diagnosed the problem by just hearing it as I was leaving after dropping off tires! He had it replaced a few hours after I left it for him, and another shop I talked to later agreed it was a good price for the work. read more

I have an old poorly-maintained used car which sounded like it was on the verge of dying. Broadway Auto Shop was able to diagnose the issues (multiple parts were near-failing), fix it at a very reasonable price, and get the car back to me within a full business day (saving me money indirectly because I was able to return a rented car earlier). In addition to the critical issues, they found some other non-urgent issues (e.g. a very noisy door) which they fixed for no extra charge. Furthermore, the owner and staff were all very communicative throughout the day. I requested and got phone calls which relayed their measure of what the problems were, their evaluation of which ones were urgent, and they broke down prices for me in terms of parts vs. service costs. I appreciated the extra information because it allowed me to google the problem and confirm that it fit with what was happening with the car. And of course, after I got my car back it ran much, much, much better than it did before. When they get busy, they do a poor job of communicating with me about how long things will take. But I believe they're honest, they don't seem to overcharge for the work, and they generally mean well. There have even been times when they didn't charge for minor repairs and services. And I think they offer a slight discount if you pay cash, although I'm not 100% sure. read more

Cannot be trusted. I went in for an oil change and was told I needed new front brakes, an alignment and new tires. It turns out I did need new tires and it's always good to have an alignment when buying new tires but after having my car inspected by other mechanics in the area, they all said my brakes were completely fine and probably good for another 25,000 miles. It really irritates me when auto places try to rip people off like this. I would not go here again. It's probably fine for a simple, fast oil change though if that is what you are looking for. read more

Came in to get a headlamp bulb replaced, after trying on my own and failing. I even broke clips on my fender in trying to replace the bulb myself! They told me to come in when I called, said it would only be $10 to install the bulb I already had. They took care of me the minute I drove in and installed the bulb and replaced the clips within about 15-20 minutes. I was charged exactly what he said - $10. I was amazed since they still replaced the clips I broke, and clearly did that for free. They are great, I was highly impressed! Only reason for 4 stars out of 5 is because I came in with a very straight-forward problem with a relatively easy solution. I personally don't know how they are with diagnostic work or an unclear issue, but I have confidence to try them again when I have a mystery issue. I was very happy and I will definitely trust them for my next car issue and recommend them. They did great work with very personable and honest staff. read more

They might be good for quick oil-change, etc. But I regret doing business with them worth $1,000 on fixing a lot of the stuff on the car without verifying the problems they pointed out. They said those problems, when not fixed, could make my car stop on the highway. I went there with a recommendation, and they knew I was a trusting, gullible customer. short version: they told me i needed new brakes when i didnt. The suspicions started when I took my car here because my battery was not holding a charge. My brother and I were sure it was not the battery or the alternator since they were relatively knew but they insisted on me getting the battery replaced and were about to make me get a new alternator. At this point they also said that I needed to get my front brakes replaced within the next few months. After paying for a new battery and a couple of diagnostic checks I decided to get a second opinion before buying a new alternator and found out that the stereo was the problem, simple solution had they bothered to ask or listen to how the problems came about, the mechanic I went to in plymouth took half an hour to igure it ou (As opposed to the 2 days that I usually had to leave my car there for). I also found out that my brakes did not need to get replaced at all and felt completely taken advantage of. One thing is to be too busy to ask the right question and another thing is to try to screw a girl over because you can tell she doesn't know anything about cars. Either that or they are not competent enough to know when brakes need to be replaced. I got some body work done there too and I was supposed to get my car back on a monday, instead I got it back on wednesday night (after calling every day to get the status since they weren't calling me). Granted the guy was apologetic and took out a few extra small dents. If it hadn't been for the brake situation they would've gotten 3 stars for effort. read more

My experience here was a total joke. After keeping my car for a week with little communication they told me they couldn't fix it and to come pick it up. When I tried to pick it up the first time it was offsite and the manager said that they might be fixing it now, they just need more time. This was a horrible inconvenience to arrange rides to the garage just to get turned down when they knew I was coming. Two days later they still couldn't fix it and asked me to pick up the car, again. This time it wouldn't even start because they had run it out of gas. !!!. Their solution was to tow it to a dealership in a couple days, get a diagnostic, then take it back to their shop to do the work at a lower cost. No thanks. I suggested they tow the car at their expense for my multiple inconveniences. Didn't happen. They told me I should be thankful because they put a can of gas in it. Not feeling so thankful. Avoid this shitshow if possible! read more

Came here to fix my brake, and when I called back a couple months later due to a problem, they changed the brake without charging me a single cent. A while ago, I took my car to one of the Ford dealerships for a tune up because it was due and there was some kind of rattling that was going on. After the tune-up, the rattle was still there so I decided to take my car to Broadway Auto Services, instead of going back to Ford, and they immediately diagnosed the issue and voila! No more rattle. Since then I have gone back for some routine tune ups. And most recently, I got new tires and brakes. Abe (the owner/ head honcho) kept me updated throughout the whole repair and I could tell he made sure everything was done perfectly. All in all, Broadway Auto Services offers quick repairs, friendly service, and they 100% put an emphasis on making their customers (and their vehicles) their number one priority. First of all, I need to state that the manager of this place and his assistant are very nice and friendly people. However, the shop is extremely unorganized, which often leads to low quality service (like forgetting to tighten things, or perform certain promised procedures, or it takes forever to complete a simple repair). Moreover, due to the mess in the shop, they sometimes do more harm to your car than good. Fortunately, they don't charge a lot, but in the end you get what you paid for. Beware! read more

I got my serpentine belt changed here for around 150 dollars. The new belt squeaked horribly and even after using belt dressing on it still made this obnoxious noise. Two weeks later the belt snapped. This was supposed to be a new belt, it isn't supposed to snap!! They must have either installed it incorrectly or installed an old belt while charging me for a new belt. I took it to a different mechanic who only charged me 90 dollars to install a new belt. I've been going to this place for 3 years but doing shoddy work is inexcusable. read more

I have bought my car from Broadway 6 months ago and have been bringing it to the Broadyway Auto Care since then. The car was told to be in a good condition, however a few months later it started to have issues. I have been misinformed quite frequently and charged a lot for any repair. Most of the malfunctioning were related to one previous problem and it clearly showed that they didn't look enough, or didn't tell on purpose. My car had a metal to metal friction problem in the brakes, which is very easy to spot but they didn't care about it. They made up issues and solve them quite frequently too. They change the parts that don't need changing such as car window with a used one and charge as if it was new. It might not deserve 1 star, but do not be fooled by the high rating this place has. There are way better and friendly auto repair services in Ann Arbor. read more
