Turkey Bacon & Avocado on an onion bagel

Husband is from Long Island, NY. That makes this place necessary to him! Stopped in for sandwiches and to try a new drink. All delicious, helpful staff, and we are completely happy! He says this is as close to NY bagels as you can get in Central IL!

As a NYer myself I was a little skeptical.... When you walk into the store, you order on the kiosks to the right, and wait for your order to be called. Standing room only. A++ crust and texture on the bagel. We did get the bagels lightly toasted, there was an option to get it darker but we were happy with the temperature and crunch. The cream cheeses tasted delicious, but made for a very messy eating experience. Not sure how they are able to keep the cream cheese from melting so quick back home in New York but when you would get it toasted bagel, the cold cream cheese could stand up to it, and not be a sloppy mess. That is my own suggestion! Will be coming back to try a sandwich soon.

I highly recommend coffee here. I got a cortado and it was excellent. If you don't know your…read morecoffees well though, just know cortados are going to be much smaller volume in a bigger sized cup (unless the store specifically has smaller sized cups). My son was holding my coffee and was like, "Mom, they didn't give you a lot of coffee." I had to explain it was how the cortado was suppose to be made and I expected the cup not to be full. Anywho...it was excellent flavor, brewed correctly and the steamed milk did not over power the espresso itself. Very nice cup. Now, I do wish my brain had been functioned correctly because I came in to order bagels for some camp kiddos for breakfast the next day. I asked if they were house made or brought in. As soon as I was told they weren't house made I should have ended my order with the cortado. However, I wasn't thinking and was in a hurry to get back on the road. I ordered 5 bagels, 3 with cream cheese and 2 with butter. I expected to be charged some for cream cheese, but thought butter would be free. It isn't, they charge for it. I didn't know if there would be butter available at the camp the next morning so I just ordered it anyways. I think butter should always be free with bagels/bread/toast/etc. these bagels were like bagels I would buy at Walmart...but instead of paying like $2-$4 (great value or Thomas brands) for 6 bagels. I needed up paying about $4 a bagel! again, wasn't thinking or I would have canceled out the bagels. It wasn't until it would have been awkwardly too late to cancel them bagging them and asking for a refund that I realized how much I had just spent. Then when I saw the bagels, my gut just kind of dropped, cause they were not great quality bagels. But, kids had food the next morning and it wasn't the end of the world. Learned a lesson. They did cut the bagels in half which would have bothered me more if they weren't for kids but again would have been nice for them to ask first as we weren't eating them that day. However, despite the bagels, I'd still recommend trying them out, especially for coffee. They looked like they had some good bakery options, salads looked fresh and full of ingredients, and they had lots and lots on their menu!

Liked it so much, returned to get road trip snacks the next day when we left town. Friendly service without the usual annoying "I'll help whose next in line," or "would you like a receipt today?" or worst of all, "Have a nice rest of your day." Instead I got a plain English, "hello," and "thank you." I do so like my baked goods with good, clear, communication, especially before coffee is on board.

I don't like to give low ratings to local establishments, but sometimes it's just that bad. We were intrigued by the F*ck cookies and the interesting pastry flavors. $41 + tip was spent on 4 of the most tasteless cookies I have ever eaten in.my.life. Honestly, I'm a "for fun" baker at best and my teens thought my sugar cookies were/are heaps above these. The icing, which I feel may have had too much meringue in them to help set. They freaking cracked when biting into the flavorless cookie. I urge you to seriously rethink this recipe. I got the guava Danish, this was actually good. One son (the other bakery enthusiast) got the ube cheesecake. He will eat ALL THINGS ube. He said it tasted like nothing. And the other son got the black mass cheesecake and he didn't have any complaints, but he's also not a bakery snob like us. Very disappointed to spend that much money on really bad sweets.

It also has an indoor dining area if planning to sit and stay. Coffee is basic but it's hot at least. There's also bagels as an option. A pretty worn out looking bakery from the looks of things in here. It's obviously been here quite awhile, and is one of the few breakfast places around for locals. The main thing is the doughnuts obviously. Has a few other things to get started in the morning. It's about $2 for coffee, which is pretty basic stuff out of a well. A few flavors. There's nothing really interesting about it. It's about $1.50 for a bagel. These again are pretty basic, with limited options as far as toppings. Come here if getting a pretty basic breakfast. It's basic coffee and lots of doughnuts. There's also some bagels but these are unremarkable.

In the past, the cookies were purchased in the suburbs of Chicago and driven to the Bloomington area. After many failed attempts to source cookies within the band budget, it was suggested we call Denny's! Not only were their cookies $6 cheaper (PER COOKIE), they were willing to customize them to match the show theme of wolves. The price was so nice, we ordered 2 for every high schooler! The cookies came out exactly as I imagined and they were so delicious! We enjoyed some leftovers back home for a couple of days. I am already dreaming about the cookies for the 2026 marching season!
