I hate Broadway cab. After seeing the reviews on Yelp and on google reviews, I decided to write a review. This morning I had to get back to my college campus from the hotel, but I wasn't able to get in touch with Radio cab so instead the shuttle driver had to drive back to airport so I could catch the cab from there. Broadway cab was one of the only cabs waiting on the side. Once I got on, the fare started rising. It was like every 2 seconds, the price would jump 10 cents more. Before I knew once I got back to campus, it was $41.50 from the airport. That cost way more when I took radio taxi from the airport to the northrup inn. It cost an estimated 30 dollars with my parents. Plus the best part of the ride was the cab driver telling me to pay with cash only. WTF???? You serious!!!!! I will never use broadway cab again. Damn that Russian cab driver, so rude and not really helpful. Call Radio cab, they are more reliable and you will have a better experience with them. Trust me. read more

Broadway cab sucks real real bad. They are contracted with tri met lift. They will not come at get you if You are disabled at all. Some say they come in 6 or 8 hours if at all. They really really suck bad and lift screws up all your rides purposely with the addresses. Never use lift on Saturdays at all ever. They will not at all come and get you if you are a lift customer. read more

On Sunday I called and scheduled a pick up for a specific time. I was checking out of my hotel and needed to be somewhere at a specific time. My cab arrived 11 minutes early and the driver called me 4 times in three minutes and then left. I watched him pull away as I was trying to call him back. I tried calling Broadway Cab, but all I got was a message that said my cab was on the way. If I needed to talk to a dispatcher I could press 0. Every time I pressed 0 the call disconnected. The front desk called me a cab from another company and the driver was wonderful. He got me to my destination without any problem. I am not in Portland often, and have not had to schedule a cab in a couple years. I will not be using Broadway Cab again. read more

It's not the first time I've watched drivers from Broadway Cab view traffic laws as suggestions. But tonight it directly affected me. I was driving south on 205, coming up on the 84 exit westbound. It was dark, slick, and traffic was somewhat heavy. Your driver, Portland Badge number 1162 or something and a cab # 452 or something like that cuts me off, moving to get on I 84. I have to brake and the driver went on his merry way, over the speed limit, and either oblivious or unconcerned about how that makes your company look. You guys should be afraid of Uber and Lyft. Their drivers don't view the freeway as DeathRace 5000. I use cabs maybe 3-4 times a year, but I will walk before I get into your cabs. I have a family, and I'm not ready to meet St. Peter yet. read more

Where you are in doubt which cab you need to call, do not call Ghostbusters. Call Broadway cab. I've never had any problem with them. Fast, reliable, and they take cards. I just don't like credit card fee charge. For some reason, my cab fare supposed to be $6.50, after I handed my shiny Master Card....dum dum dum...it was $8.00. Well done, sir(s and possibly ma'am(s)). We're flying out of PDX Wednesday morning at 0-f'in early. First we checked to see if long term parking was a fiscally responsible option. $16 a day for five days equals $80. Cab fare from friends house in NoPo equals 26 bucks plus tip, times two equals the fiscally responsible choice. So we're parking our car at a friends (thanks, JD) in NoPo while we're gone. Tuesday night at about 10:45pm: we jump online and reserve a cab for 6:20am Wednesday morning. Not having to talk to a person: priceless. Wednesday morning at about 6:10am: we arrive at JD's. Wednesday morning at 6:18am: Sergey arrives in his (roomy) Crown Vic. Two minutes early. Nice. Did I mention it has a HUGE trunk? You could fit like three or four bodies in there. Easy. Wednesday morning at 6:34am: Sergey delivers us curbside at PDX, 14 minutes after he was to have picked us up and approximately 8 hours after we made the reservation online. And I'm only $26 plus tip the poorer. Nice. read more

Broadway Cab, you are far from my favorite. When I call for a cab, it's Radio Cab, because they're great. I only take Broadway Cab when I'm flagging one down. In my personal experience, I've had many drivers that don't speak much English, are straight up rude, drive like maniacs, and go the long way to jack up the fare. I take cabs at least once a week, so I know what it costs to get to my place from downtown. The best I can say about them is that we haven't been in an accident. read more

I booked my ride well in advance and received terrible service. Got my call from the driver on time (5am) asking where I was when he showed up to the wrong location. I told him that I was in an apartment building rather than a house, to which he responded, "Ugh, okay." and hung up. I waited about 10 minutes before I called the dispatcher who found my booking request and said the driver was only a half mile away and should be returning soon. I stood outside waiting an additional 15 minutes until I started calling around for a second option to get to the airport in order to make my flight. I called the dispatcher again and was told that the driver had essentially abandoned my booking and she had to send out another cab to come pick me up. I waited another 15 minutes before the ride showed up and I made it to the airport to find that I was too late to be let through the gates. I had to rebook my flight for a later date and I'm writing this review rather than spending time with my family during the holiday season. read more

Called on a Saturday afternoon to arrange for a ride to the airport very early the following morning. I believe I asked to be picked up at 330 am. After calling repeatedly and graciously asking how long it would be a cab didn't show up until 445, causing me to miss my flight. The male operator who answered my call a few of the times had a very negative attitude. I was living off of SE Burnside near 28th ave at the time; as inner city as it gets. Should not have been an issue. Call Radio Cab instead. read more

I'd like to think that I'm not overly picky- especially when it comes to getting a ride back home. I'm currently in a wheelchair and need assistance for basic functions- like getting out of a car, etc. My driver pulled up right on time as I was attempting to push the main doors open to get out of the building. Again, in a wheelchair here, so it's kind of hard. The driver, about 20 years old, made direct eye contact with me as I was struggling, with his earbuds on. About a minute later he decided to ask if I needed any help. Yes, yes I did. I'm sort of in a wheelchair. Anyway, he eventually helped me out and we were on our way. The dude blasted incredibly loud Christian rock music the entire way. I don't mean he just had the music playing in the background, I mean it was loud, really loud. It's totally cool if you're into listening to Christian rock- it's not my cup of tea but who am I to judge? Just don't blast the music so loud that I can't give directions properly. BEWARE OF UNETHICAL DISHONEST BROADWAY CAB DRIVERS. I arrived at the airport at 9:30 pm and a Broadway Cab was next in line. The driver told me he would charge a flat rate which was much higher than it should be and said he did not have to use the meter, which is not true. A Radio Cab driver saw there was a problem and spoke with the Broadway Cab driver. He then agreed to take me home at the rate it should be, although still not on the meter. When I tried to point out the best route he told me to "be quiet". The entire cab was dark which made me uncomfortable. I decided to pay him in cash, concerned about my credit card info being stolen. He then tried to short change me by $20 and would have, except I insisted on counting it out. He then tried to do it again! Broadway Cab has been unresponsive to this issue and has not called back. In the future I will call Radio Cab when I land as I have always had great service from them. read more

I basically have nothing good to say about Broadway. So let's start there. For my wedding - we booked a broadway cab over a week in advance to pick us up from the ceremony at 9:30pm. 9:30pm came and went 10pm came and went 10:30pm we place call - are you coming? we ask. "oh, we're booked right now." 10:45pm receive text we're dispatching cab from 9.8 miles away (over 30 minutes away). We cancel cab Oh yeah - we reserved a cab on a THURSDAY NIGHT and they just did not show. ridiculous. read more

These guys blow, big time. First, the dispatcher says he can get a car to us "right away". Right away means 10+ minutes, apparently. I could have hopped on the bus almost the same time the cab arrived, but presumed I should've been able to get back faster avoiding a transfer. The driver himself was hella shady, taking us a more roundabout way involving the highway as well, probably because our destination was a hotel. I was staring at google maps on my cell phone and called him out, although he claims it would be faster. This padded on an extra mile and 4 minutes according to google maps, i.e. an extra $3+ at the very least. Faster my 4$$! Don't use this company, simple as that. Shoulda just trusted the reasonable public transit on this weekend night. read more

Maybe the worst customer service I have ever received. Three friends and I flagged down a cab the other night and got in. After telling the driver where we needed to go, he complained to us that he did not want to take us to our destination (which was no more than 10 minutes away). We all laughed it off laughed it of like he was joking, he wasn't but still we started off down the road. He then proceded to drive right by the on ramp to the freeway in what I can only assume was an attempt to drive up the fare for a ride he did not want to give. When I mention that he had passed the free way, he immediately pulled the car over right where we were and told us to get out! Do not give these lowlives any of your hard earned money! If a Broadway cab is coming down the road, do yourself a favor and wait for the next one. read more

Just used Broadway for the last time the other night. We caught a cab at the airport and when we informed the driver of our destination (ten minute drive away), he openly began sulking at us. Erratic, aggressive driving for the next three miles displayed his irritation. Before dropping us off he exclaimed that my company should hire shuttle vans to take us to and from the airport. Just crap service through and through. I understand why people are taking Uber more often now. Hopefully, cab companies will be a thing of the past in five years. read more

Some of the worst cab service I've ever experienced, and we didn't even take a cab! I called their number at around 3:30AM, expecting to be on hold for a few minutes due to the hour, but did not expect to w8 a half hour for the operator to finally answer! I hardly understood her, and felt that she was exceptionally rude. She answered and asked where we were, which is fair... However when I told her, she got pissy and wanted to know the address, not the cross streets. Being a visitor to the area, I had no idea. It took about five minutes for me to look up on my phone. After about twenty minutes (the time being close to 4:30AM at this point) we finally figured out were we where. She informed me that they did not have any cab drivers in the area and it was going to be an hour, to which I replied that I was going to call their competitors. She hung up on me! What a terrible thing to do to a customer. I will never use this company and highly recommend any other solution over them, and would rather walk through any neighborhood at any time of the night than deal with these guys. If I could give a lower score I would. read more

The event my father was to attend on this particular day, December 5, 2015 involved "3" separate cab rides. Of the three, only 2 were successful. Cab #435 from 1280 N.E. Kane Drive (Gresham) to 705 N. Killingsworth (Portland) (20 miles one way) was $60.00. This driver was efficient and knew exactly where they were going. Though I don't agree w/the Price (noted on receipt Dist. 21, Fare $60.60, Extra $1.00 (too munch for a 20 mile one way trip) Second cab #202 was to pick up @ 705 N. Killingsworth and go to 17110 SE Powell, Portland. It took over 45 min. from the time my father called for a cab, to arrive @ 705 N. Killingsworth. Before my dad knew it, the guy (who spoke no English) drove "ACROSS THE RIVER" TO THE WEST" side of Portland. My father told the guy "HE WAS GOING THE WRONG WAY, THEY WERE GOING TO S.E. PORTLAND @ 171ST. The guy paid no attention to my father and kept on driving. What should have been maybe a 30 min. cab from from 705 N. Killingsworth to 17110 S.E. Powell, turk over an hour and the charges were "OVERCHARGED FOR THE CAB DRIVER ERROR". Cost for this ride was $58.00 and the actual miles would have been 14 from originating destination to 17110 S.E. Powell, Portland. (More on this topic later). Final cab ride from 17110 S.E. Powell to 1280 N.E. Kane Drive, Gresham was $18.00 and a mere 5 miles (still over priced I believe) but no issues w/this cab, except my dad waited for over 45 min. for the cab to show up to pick him up. I contacted the main office of Broadway Cab in Portland and left multiple voice mail messages. I did find out that "Harold" was the Manager at 503.727.6152. I left him multiple voice mails and never received a phone call back. I went on their web site and filed a FORMAL COMPLAINT - again to no avail. I still believe this Cab Company owes my father a refund of at least $25 for over charges. Sadly this will probably NEVER HAPPEN. My father is 95 with several handicaps and relies on Taxi's a lot. Sad, yet again, He Was Scammed !!!!!! I even have copies of all the receipts and this won't make a bad situation worse !!!! I WILL NEVER USE BROADWAY CAB AND I WILL TELL OTHERS TO ALSO NOT RELY ON THEIR SERVICES. read more

Hailed a cab back to my hotel, short ride but it was pouring. I got in, gave my destination, and noticed after about two blocks the meter was not on. I asked "can you turn on the meter please?" He pointed at it, shook his head and said "nah, it'll just be $5" I said "that's great if it is, can you turn the meter on?" He shook his head and just repeated "$5." I told him if he wouldn't turn the meter on just to stop and I'd find another legit cab where they don't make up their own prices to pocket my fare. He stopped and said "OK then get out." Happily hopped out and hailed ironically another Broadway cab, who immediately turned on the meter, happily got me to my destination, and got an awesome tip (again, I know, short ride). We had a flight leaving PDX at 7:00 am, and called Broadway Cab at 4:30 to get a cab to the airport. (And YES I do realize that it would have been wise to reserve a cab in advance - but that is not the point here, so please read the entire review before commenting on my lack of planning skills.) We realized that it was a busy weekend with Halloween coming up. However, the dispatchers ought to at least have been honest with us so that we could find another way to get to the airport. We were lied to several times by several different people when we called to check the status of our cab! One guy even told me that our cab was on its way and would be there in a couple of minutes. When I called back 10 minutes later, another guy told me that I had been misinformed and that they didn't even have a driver lined up for us yet. I completely understand being busy and overwhelmed. But dispatchers need to tell you when you call that they have no idea how long it could take and that you might end up waiting for hours. I'd prefer to hear the truth, even if I don't like it, than sit on my porch for hours like a sucker because someone decided to tell me "your cab's on the way" to get me off the phone. Take a lesson, Broadway: we finally called Radio Cab and they put us on hold while they checked availability, and they found a driver who could get to our place in 10 minutes. No complaints. I usually don't bother to review cab companies when everything works; I suspect this is why most of them have low reviews, they're rarely stellar enough to warrant the effort. When my friend who lives in Portland said it was the best and I saw the low reviews I thought I should post. I've only used them 2-3 times, but: 1. They have always arrived on time or early 2. They actually use caller ID properly! Even after a year of not using them, when I called they had the right name and address for pickup (I stayed with the same friend). 3. I am a frequent cab user. I ride in cabs about 1-3 times per week. I ride cabs in the Beaverton area as well as in Downtown Portland. and I REFUSE to ever ride BROADWAY CAB again! Their drivers have no sence of customer service. From what I gather, by asking other cab drivers, Broadway's business model is simply not condusive for a quality experience. They have very low standards for hiring drivers. In my experience, the quality of service coming from their dispatch and main office are also very low. My biggest complains are these: 1. Their Drivers Do not know the Portland area well. (my most recent Broadway driver didnt know where Pioneer Square was!) 2. Many of their drivers dont speek english very well. (they use the language barrier to their benefit when acting confused about how to get places) 3. They overcharge by not chosing the cheepest route to drive (since they "dont know the area" they often get lost - to OUR expense) 4. Many do NOT have (or use) GPS systems. The only good reviews I ever find are from infrequent cab riders or from out-of-towners. Please! If you have the opportunity to select another cab company to ride with, please do! ...I always call Radio Cab first. read more

Would NEVER use this company EVER again. After speaking directly with the dispatcher and booking and confirming a wheelchair accessible vehicle to pick up... they NEVER showed up. Left a handicapped client sitting out in the cold for over an hour before we called back only to be told that we "no showed". It was the driver that NO SHOWED. I'm lucky I got to my destination. The only reason I used this cab company is because they were in the taxi area at PDX airport. Reasons for the 1 star rating: -Started driving without a word. Drove a ways before I asked him if he wanted my address -Got super upset when I told him I lived in Vancouver. I live the next exit over the 205 bridge, right off the highway. He didn't stop the car when I said I would get out if he didn't want to drive there. -I had to give him directions because he had no idea where he was going. Got upset when I gave him turn-by-turn directions -only time he was nice to me was when i paid cash, complaining about how other clients paid with card. USE VANCOUVER CAB COMPANY! Let's be honest: if you're a tourist in Portland like I am, and you're running around on the streets, no one is going to really be consulting Yelp to find the quality of their cab company. That said: we had a traumatic, rude experience last night with Broadway cab last night after being screamed at by a cabbie for paying for a $6+tip fare with a debit card. When we told the driver we were literally paying our fare, he screamed that he wasn't making money. When our traveling partner rightly told him we were taking a short trip and shouldn't have accepted us, he pointed a finger in my face and screamed "THIS IS SHORT TRIP, YOU SHOULD KNOW TO PAY WITH CASH" repeatedly. We coughed up some cash and even gave him a tip because we were taught to be courteous tourists, but we as customers should not be held responsible for how you're being treated by a company. It only makes you and your city look bad. I will actively avoid this company at all costs and tell anyone I know to do the same. read more

Driver David picked up my 92 year old father and his wife yesterday from my house. He drove them to the airport to fly back home to LA. I had requested help in getting them to the 2 wheelchairs I had ordered and to outside check in. My dad told me David was able to take their luggage to check in and got them situated. I believe he did what he would do for his parents and I love that. Thank you David and Broadway Cab for showing such respect. read more

I figured I would try a taxi since Lyft prices were running high. All was good until the driver accused me of telling him the wrong neighborhood and charged me an extra $5. This is not a review based on actual cab services however, just minutes ago my roommate and I were stuck in a berm outside of our driveway and the man driving cab 310 pulled over and helped us get the car unstuck and back safely into the drive way! After a number cars drove by and splashed us with muddy rain and ice it was nice to know that there was a kind soul out there willing to help some very frustrated girls get out of a predicament. Broadway and Green Cab are the only companies I go with, nothing but EXCELLENCE, ALL THE TIME. I have tried Lyft due to a promotion; however, the experiences REALLY DID prove as to why the two companies as listed above are worth my support. I'd like to support local cab companies but this is one I won't be taking again. I took a cab from pdx airport 4 miles Away. Exactly 4 miles away. The charge was over $20. I didn't see a meter in this cab and the cabbie told me what to pay afterwards. I want to support local business but I've taken cabs and Uber's the same distance and it wasn't this much. I don't recommend this company. I'll try other companies instead. The current state of the taxi industry is unfortunate but it's reasons like this that the taxi stand at pdx is empty and lines of people await Ubers. read more

Needed a cab, consulted Yelp for advice, and based on others' positive reviews, I chose Broadway. SOOO glad! Excellent and speedy service, friendly driver, who gave me his personal phone number to call if Broadway happened to be busy later that night. Several hours later, I called him and he appeared within 10 minutes. Not sure about other cab companies, but Broadway accepts credit and debit cards, not just cash. Definitely a great experience. I will most certainly use Broadway Cab again, as well as recommend it. read more
