This place was cool. Came here because I found out one of my coworkers was performing some standup comedy and a group of us wanted to come surprise him and show some support. The tickets were easy to purchase from online, and I was even able to get a discount code for five dollars off. I came early to check out the place, and found that it looks like they had some improv happening on the stage located on the main floor. They have two stage rooms, one upstairs on the main level and the other downstairs. After looking at the one downstairs I would have personally liked to been seated there because upstairs was hot as the dog days of summer in NYC. The bathrooms were also located down there. The main level just felt a little uncomfortable because of how the chairs and tables were sat up. There was a two drinks minimum you had to purchase and they had appetizers available to support those drinks. I just ordered some fries and a mudslide. The fries were ok, and my drink was really good. My coworkers ordered some mozzarella bites, chicken wings etc. I sampled the mozzarella bites and they were really good, better than my fries. Customer service was good and the food and drinks came out pretty fast. Now as far as the show goes, the comedians they had, they were all pretty funny and so I did laugh enough. My coworker was pretty good too. Now the question is would I return? I would only want to return to this place if the show is downstairs. Scam, avoid! If I could give it less than 1 star I would. Was sold tickets by "Tony the actor" on the street with a Comedy Central sign for $30. He promised some pretty famous comedians, one from SNL and a voice actor from Family Guy. When we arrived, we found out that there was a 2 drink minimum. We had our 12 year old with us, he wasn't buying 2 drinks! Of course, Tony didn't tell us there'd be a 2 drink minimum, but that would have been ok if the comedians he had told us were there were actually there. They weren't. These were totally unknown comedians and we were going to need to spend another $20+ each to stay to watch some comedians that were obviously signed on to work in this sketchy theater. Even our 12 year old would need to buy a drink! To add to the bad experience, the place looked like trash and was basically in the basement with metal folding chairs. We left, went to look for Tony who had apparently vanished faster than the comedians he promised us. If Tony put half as much effort into honesty as he does into his sales pitch, he'd probably have an actual career. Dear Broadway Comedy Club: Don't bother following up to this message telling people that "Tony" was an independent contractor and it's not the theaters fault. We know that you sent them out with tickets to try to get people into your show so you can make more money off the drinks. read more

To be fair to the comics, the crowd was weird and one obnoxious guy kept interrupting. There is a strict two drink minimum, but the drinks are relatively cheap. First time here and never been to a comedy club before. Came here on a Thursday evening to see Sarper, show starts at 9pm and I got there at 8:45pm. The line went by quickly and was really organized. Intimate setting with a two drink minimum per person. Drinks can be alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. I ordered a Moscow mule and Sprite. I had such a great time. I really enjoyed the show. Received 2 complimentary tickets for this Comedy Club by staying at The Westin- Times Square, however we were told we only had to buy 1 drink each and learned once we got here about their STRICT 2 DRINK MINIMUM plus 25% gratuity. If you encounter someone selling tickets on Broadway with the Comedy Central sign it's worth the money. They are very serious about the two drink minimum, but the drinks were reasonably priced so that was a good deal. We also had an order of hummus and pitas. There were 4 full pitas and a decent amount of hummus - and the pitas were hot! I would have order led more drinks if our server had ever come back but he was really busy. Despite it being a Saturday night, the room was barely a quarter full. One comic identified several people in the audience as her friends, and they were the only ones laughing. Our survival instincts are terrible so we decided to buy tickets for the club from a seller on the streets. Yes, we really did. No, we didn't get scammed (worked him down a decent amount and actually got a very good deal on them). After getting 4 tickets for about 50 bucks we decided to hit the comedy club for the 9PM showing. We were told to arrive 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the show so naturally we showed up 35 minutes before show time and were told we couldn't line up to wait yet as they needed to clear things from the previous show. We walked around for a while to pass the time and came back 10 minutes prior to the show and the line was pretty long. It would've been better off waiting the entire time there. After getting past the intro line we walked into a hallway that quite honestly had us a bit worried we'd be on The First 48 but after they scanned our tickets in we figured there was no going back. You walk down a set of stairs to the basement area where the stage and bathrooms are. The area is dimly lit as expected and the seating options are okay although a bit cramped. We got seated right on the stage, which was great. The show started and in total we saw 6 comics and every one of them was solid to fantastic, many of them being former Comedy Central and HBO alum. Well worth the time and money we spent on the show. There of course is the two drink minimum, but unlike a lot of other clubs they actually have appropriately priced drinks and alcohol so it isn't a money pit. They offer a decent selection of wine, seltzers, beer, and others. For drinks we got some pina coladas, strawberry daiquiris, and some pineapple juice. All were good. For cheap comedy in the Midtown area this may be the best bang for your buck in value and is definitely worth a visit if you're nearby. read more

Absolutely the WORST comedy club I've EVER been to. Everyone sitting on top of each other while the waiters fall all over you trying to reach others at your table. I ordered a Pina Colada and there was NO alcohol in it do I sent it back. They brought another and it tasted like windex. My wife's Moscow Mule was straight Sprite; no alcohol and no ginger beer. They came by for the next round and I told them that I would pay for the round but we were not going to drink any more of this slop. Then they add 25% tip to the bill automatically and give you a receipt with an empty space for a tip. The Host kept emphasizing everyone to tip their waiters generously and I'll bet a lot of people fall for this ploy and double tip. Oh, I forgot about the comedians. That's because they all sucked. I own a few small businesses so I'm not very quick to give negative reviews. However, I don't like being duped. And I don't like when other customers get duped. The comedy was OK. But this is where up-and-coming comedians cut their teeth so I have no problems with that. I encourage him to keep up the hard work! The two drink minimum is expected and standard. However... DO NOT order any drink "with alcohol". Trust me you won't taste anything past the ice. Do not waste your time, money or expectations. And to be clear: I'm not just talking about "weak". I'm talking about, "y'all know damn well you didn't put any alcohol in here." Now to avoid legal action they may put an eighth of a teaspoon of some bottom shelf gas station libation. But just go ahead and get yourself a ginger ale or a juice. That being said... DO NOT get water unless you enjoy tapwater. If you don't like tapwater, the water is gross. Don't let the fact that it comes in a plastic bottle for you. Technically it's bottled water. Specifically it's bottled tap water. And just to make sure my taste buds weren't crazy, I brought water back to my hotel and compared it to the bottled water that I bought from the market. Yep... Disgusting. And believe it or not, the tap water out of the bathroom sink actually tasted better than the bottled water at the comedy club. I can't even imagine what the food taste like. Didn't dare try it. My family and I were visiting New York City from Florida and were approached by someone on the street selling tickets to Broadway Comedy Club. We were told there would be comedians from Netflix and Comedy Central, so we bought four tickets thinking it would be a fun Saturday night experience. When we got there, we found out there wasn't even a 9:30 PM show like we were told. Instead, we had to wait in a standby line because apparently we didn't have reservations. The room was extremely crowded. People were even sitting on the stage, which I thought was odd. The biggest disappointment, though, was the comedy itself. Out of all the comedians we saw, maybe one or two were actually funny. The rest just weren't very good and definitely not what we expected after hearing Netflix and Comedy Central. What confused me even more was when I went downstairs and saw another large room that wasn't even half full. They were doing a Spanish-language show, and there was a sign outside promoting an immigration lawyer. Later, my son looked at their Instagram page, and it seemed like they heavily promote Spanish-language and other specialty shows. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but that's not the experience we thought we were buying. As tourists visiting New York City, we were expecting a traditional comedy club with professional comedians on a busy Saturday night. They don't advertise mandatory gratuity or two drink minimums anywhere and tickets are non refundable. Drinks are insanely overpriced and you're look blindsided by a mandatory 18% gratuity fee you can't opt out of even if you just order water. If there's a comedian you have to see factor in at least $15-60 bucks on top on your tickets depending on what you order. Cheapest is water and soda at $6 each. We wanted to see a comedy show while in NYC, and we stumbled across this comedy club. Definitely would not be our first choice for a comedy show in the future. It seemed to be a launching point for a lot of comedians to try out, which that alone I won't fault because everyone has to start somewhere. But there was never a big hitter at any point, which is typical at a comedy show. Everyone seemed to be just starting out, and one of the sets didn't even make sense - he seemed to stop what he was doing in the middle and just move on to the next. They do require a two drink minimum here, but there was only 1 server that both took all the orders and made all the food and drinks. You had to order everything before the show started - all drinks and food - and it was a guess when it would come out. We had planned to eat dinner here, and the food don't come out until the show was nearly over - over an hour and a half after we ordered. This was my second time at Brodway Comedy Club and I had a great time on both occasions. I never laughed so hard at a comedy showcase show before. Some comedians were offensive, which I love. If you're sensitive in your feelings, this may not be the place for you. Also, you may want to get there 20 mins sooner so you can have the pick of seats not offered in the nosebleed section. Oh, trust me you will get picked on. You've been warned. There is a required two-drink minimum, and you won't be disappointed or have to wait a long time for the drinks to come. The food comes to you piping hot, which I love. Simple finger foods that actually taste good. After the show we waited for most of the tourist to leave and finish up taking pictures with some of the comedians from the line-up. The space to come out is pretty tight, so don't be in a hurry. We came here to support a friend who was doing a set last minute. The show started at 7pm on a weeknight and it did start close to on time. There was an admission cost and a two drink minimum. The soft drinks were not much cheaper than the alcoholic ones. I got a cocktail and the pour was heavy for sure! We were in the upstairs room. I did not realize there is another room downstairs with a separate show happening until I used the restroom, which was clean and also downstairs. There is not a bad seat and the audio was good. The show was entertaining and hosted some experienced comedians. The venue was super tight in space, they tried to cram in as many chairs and tables as possible. Service was 1 star. The server was super rude to my friend and me off the bat. We hadn't had time to look at the menu and he was rushing us to order and decide our two drink minimum. Just no class or tact. There were others around us that he could have skipped to and the whole room was half empty. He was a dick. We also saved one seat for a friend who was coming late and he informed us in a dick-ish tone that we would have to pay for her two drink minimum if she didn't come. Chill out dude. They said yes, and I gave them the new date I wanted to have it for. It was simple, and I appreciated that they accommodated me. They don't offer refunds. I wish I had noticed in the fine print that the lineups are subject to change without notifying you. It was my first time coming here, so I had no idea this was a thing. Alas, Troy Bond did not play. So I was stuck going to see people I didn't know. Decent location. The vibe of the whole place is kinda dungeon like and gross. We got there early, so we had to wait for the previous show to empty out. They make you line up going up a flight of stairs. That was so weird and uncomfortable because the staircase was narrow. The place smelled like weed and basement. Two things I'm not a fan of. If you don't want to sit at a table right up front, don't get there early. Although if you get there late, they seat you at a table ON THE STAGE. So weird. Who wants to sit on the stage?! Space does run out quickly. They pack you in, and everyone is seated extremely close. Everything here feels so rushed. They took the drink orders right away. 2 drink minimum, of course. They said if you want a different drink for your second drink, just let them know. I didn't have that chance because they just brought me out 2 Gin and Tonics without asking if I wanted my second to be the same as well. That was super irritating. Mainly because that Gin and Tonic was THE WORST drink that I've ever had in my life. Felt like it had poison in it because I felt so gross afterward. The drinks weren't too expensive, but they weren't worth a dime! They serve food here, but I wouldn't dare try it. The comedians here were just okay. All amateur. The lineup was huge. Saw about 8-9 of them that night. Didn't laugh much. Out of all of them, only 1 guy was any good. There are only 2 single bathrooms here. Good comedy, drinks - eh... Let me start with the drinks. My wife got a glass for her Martini. I got a plastic cup for my Margarita. And I couldn't taste the alcohol. In either of the two drinks. The person sitting across from me took one sip of her non-frozen margarita, and left it. She had a bottle of water for her second round. In terms of comedians, this place rocked. There were highs and lows, but some of them had the crowd roaring, and rightly so. Some stuff to know: Buy tickets in Times Square if you want. Show up at least 30 minutes prior to the show. The run a line until it starts to interfere with another business, and then they run a second line. They bring you in and have you go up the stairs, and when the previous crown empties out, you get to go in. It's DARK once you get the show going, so make sure you hit the restroom on the same floor before the show starts. 2 Rounds are required (but you can buy two bottles of water if you want). Again, great comedy here. Try it out. Drinks? Buy a bottle of water. No pics unfortunately. The comedy was too good, and the room too dark! read more

This is a fun spot for date night or an outing with a small group of friends. I've been a handful of times and always enjoyed myself. You can get tickets for free online, but there is a two drink minimum at the venue. Seating is on a first come, first served basis. They fill the front of the theater first so if you don't want to engage with the comics or be the butt of a joke or two in the front row, I recommend arriving early but not too early. Maybe ten to fifteen minutes before showtime is ideal. Some of the seats are actually on the stage, right up close and personal with the performers and if you are late, you may end up with this awkward seating. The theaters are no frills. They pack a lot of people in so you will be very close to your neighbors. Drinks are actually reasonably priced but they're not the best quality. I ordered a Paloma and tasted zero grapefruit and tons of sugar. However, they do get you a bit of a buzz, which is appreciated. They also serve food but I've never tried the menu. The comics are great. Generally the best acts are towards the end of the set but all of them are professionals and very talented. Comedians are funny and entertaining. We went on a Monday night for the 9pm show. We bought our tickets from a guy named "Papa John " in the middle of Time Square ! He was super friendly and sold us two tickets for $40US . We read a bunch of negative reviews but still went . It's in a basement very not fancy but all the stand up comics were great! Yes you do have to purchase two drinks per person and it does say it on the tickets . It doesn't mention that they charge you gratuities on your bill . We had two beers and two mojitos and the bill came out around $50US . So it's a $100 night out . I would recommend eating before heading there as it does take time to get food . Waiters were excellent considering they have to bring drinks without disturbing the show. We recommend as we had a lot of fun . It's New York people! Everything you do cost money lol ! I bought a $30 ticket from a tkts vendor at Times Square, as it was a dark night (Monday) on Broadway. I was pretty excited to go, until I read many of the reviews here and began to panic that I got scammed. I decided to check it out since I already paid the ticket. It's true - the club requires a minimum of 2 drinks per person (no mention of this when I bought the tix), with sodas and water priced at $6 each. They add an automatic 22% gratuity to your bill, with an additional empty line for gratuity, and repeatedly remind you to tip your servers at the end of the show. Unlike many of the reviews here, I found the servers to be kind. The club itself was nothing fancy. A hole-in-the-wall with a few tables in an intimate setting along the stage. The show was meant to feature 4 comedians from various tv shows. The actual show had about 7 comedians, some with supposed accolades and some who seemed more novice. Regardless, I found myself laughing and smiling throughout majority of the show. I had planned to leave early but ended up staying because I was enjoying myself. Overall, I'm glad I didn't let the reviews here scare me off & I'm glad I gave this place a shot since I already had the ticket in hand. We were visiting NY and our daughter took us here for the show after dinner. The venue is located down very narrow stairs and it does remind me of a dark and and cramped basement. They have a two drink minimum per person, and water is also counted as a drink if you prefer. Though we ordered drinks since it was mandatory, we did not drink them, they were either too sweet or tasteless. Like many comedy shows around NYC, BCC offers "free" tickets with a requirement to buy drinks (in this case, two per person). Unlike other comedy shows, BCC treats these as "standby" tickets without any warning, notice, or disclaimer that having these tickets won't guarantee entry. I arrived early and one of the first in line but the other member of my party hadn't yet arrived. Even with two tickets on my phone, I was refused seating. Later, while waiting in line again with my full party, that same manager let a larger group in while waiting for late members of their party. With seats open, we were passed over multiple times for people with "paid tickets." This would be understandable if the tickets we found on eventbrite were advertised as standby, but they were not. Attended show last night Saturday March 16. Arrived 10 minutes after show started and was still allowed admission. Only seats available for a small tabletop up on the stage which was no biggie. Lineup for the night was diverse and very funny. Jewel in this review lays in what occurred after I left show. When I arrived back to my hotel 30 minutes after show was over I realized I was missing my wallet. Called the club and lady who I assumed was the manager talked to me. While the next show was going on she walked into the room and looked for my wallet. I knew this because I could hear the comic on stage in the middle of her act. Turns out the waiter Eric from Albania had found my wallet and had is secured and safe! I appreciate the honest and going above and beyond to help a guy wandering New York City out! We almost cancelled based on the reviews, but figured it was cheap and worth a shot. We got tickets online before the show, on the website. The venue was much cleaner than I expected and they sat us right in the front. The comedians were hit or miss but we got some laughs for sure. Two drink minimum but the drinks were huge.
