This is a great location for a show. A friend recommended it and we are happy that we came. The line up was hilarious and I laughed so hard. The seating was tight because the show was sold out but we were seated orderly and everyone had enough space to enjoy the show. We were seated close to the stage and had a good time. FYI there is a $20.00 minimum per person. I don't drink but they have non alcoholic options. read more

We head down to the city and Rodney's regularly. Last night was by far the craziest show ever! A sold out house for laughs and craziness. Mark the owner dos a great job! Go Knicks! Had a great night celebrating the Knicks victory but wanted to share a terrible experience we had at Rodney's comedy club. We signed up for the watch party early in the week when all tickets were free. Checked in middle of the week to see if we can bring food and no mention of paid tickets. We got there at 8pm to learn that there are now paid seats (this was never available before) and we had to wait for crappy seats to open up that were in front of a tiny tv that had the game on delay or pay for seats that were also crap at this point. Seems like a bit of a scam to spring this on people last minute. We ended up leaving but ruined the first 1/2 hour of the game for us. Never going back - I'm sure the comedians and staff are good, just seems like terrible short term cash chasing management. read more

Owner threatened me with litigation for pointing out they broke fire code. Pathetic. There's a reason your venue gets no notable acts, the management. Your management of the event is the reason Taskmaster never went back and the reason NYC gets a bad rap. But that's why your venue in on the outskirts of the city and a pain to get to. read more

We attended a show at Rodney's Comedy Club that was absolutely phenomenal, the comedians were sharp, energetic, and genuinely had the audience laughing nonstop from beginning to end. The performances were truly off the charts and should have made for a memorable evening. Unfortunately, the night was overshadowed by an unsettling interaction involving the owner, Mark Yousef. During an argument with another patron, my friend, who was merely standing nearby observing the situation, was abruptly approached by Mr. Yousef and asked, "You look like you have a problem." My friend calmly explained that he simply felt the situation was escalating unnecessarily, yet Mr. Yousef responded by telling him he could leave, questioning whether he was even a VIP guest (which he was), and threatening to call the police. What made the encounter particularly disheartening were the dismissive and condescending remarks that followed, including, "What would you know? You don't own a business." Ironically, my friend is the owner of four successful businesses. It was difficult not to feel that assumptions were being made about him based solely on the color of his skin. It is deeply unfortunate that behavior which came across as prejudiced and unnecessarily hostile detracted from what otherwise would have been such an enjoyable and entertaining night. read more

Drinks were meh. Service was good. One bartender for bar and table service but he was pretty quick. The only annoying thing was they had all the tables and chairs crammed close to the stage so every time someone walks by they bump into your table or chair. Makes no sense. If I could give negative five stars, I would. We arrived at the venue at 9:20 PM for a 9:45 PM show, only to find it completely overbooked. Instead of being seated, we were told to stand by the bar while they "figured it out." Mark, who identified himself as the manager, explained that they had accommodated guests from the previous show and didn't have enough space. This was our first red flag. Eventually, when we were offered seats, we were told moments later that we couldn't sit there because servers needed to pass through. What followed was some of the most unprofessional behavior I've ever encountered. Mark openly complained that the people who rented the space didn't pay enough, that his staff wasn't making money, and even said that unless future renters pay $10,000, he won't rent it out again. This kind of behind-the-scenes drama should never be aired in front of paying customers. When we expressed our frustration about not having seats, Mark showed zero empathy. He was flustered, dismissive, and unwilling to find a real solution. But what happened next was completely unacceptable. A man named Reginald began cursing at us and telling us to "get out" for no reason. When I calmly asked him not to speak to us that way, he lashed out with disgusting, misogynistic language -- telling me to "suck his..." and then calling me a "fat b*tch." All of this while we were literally just waiting for someone to come issue us a refund. Important to note this all happened infront of his manager Mark who did not intervene and correct that bad behavior. This experience was repulsive and shocking. No customer should ever be spoken to or treated this way. The lack of professionalism, the hostility, and the total disregard for basic decency make this a place I would never return to. The place was packed like sardines, the bar area was dirty and a mess, it was hot and muggy and the way people were seated was 100% a fire Hazzard. To management: You seriously need to evaluate your staff, your booking process, and how you handle customer concerns. The way this situation was managed was beyond unacceptable read more

Excellent excellent comics. I attended a Saturday night show featuring six comedians with friends as part of a birthday celebration. This was the first live comedy cellar event that I've attended. Rodney is newly re-opened (under new ownership). We got tickets in advance online at $25 per person, though we accidentally bought double the number of tickets and called/spoke to the manager about getting those refunded, which they did promptly. On the day of the show, we came 30 minutes early, and they started seating after 15 minutes. The venue is clean, classy, and intimate, and I felt like the seating options offered were all good (visibility and sound wise). Come early if you want a seat in the first two rows; though, as a warning, you may be crowd worked :) PLEASE note that there is a two drink minimum or $20 spent per person, so a realistic price for the event per person is $45. Even if it doesn't show it for the specific event you're booking. The drink menu is also limited right now (to wines/beers), and there are not many great options for those who do not drink alcohol. I hope they add more options soon, including mocktails. The check-in process could also be improved, as it was a bit manual and tedious. I would definitely come back, even for the $45 price point. Live comedy is such a cool experience and this is a great place for it! read more

Instead of de-escalating like an actual leader, Mark aggressively pivoted and pounced on me, demanding to know if I "had a problem" and telling me I could leave. The show was already over; my group had paid to stay back and meet the talent, but Mark's unprovoked hostility made it clear he was in a total psychological spiral. ​What followed was a pathetic, prejudiced tantrum. He called the police to soothe his bruised ego and smugly barked that I would "never understand what it's like to own a business." ​The sheer irony of his statement is staggering, but the arrogance required to weaponize law enforcement over a guest's confused look is downright dangerous. Projecting your prejudices and using a tiny shred of fragile authority to intimidate paying customers isn't just a textbook display of bias...it is a masterclass in how to run a commercial space directly into the ground. ​Mark, you don't know me, you don't know my background, and you clearly have no grasp of how a real business owner operates with dignity, hospitality, and emotional intelligence. ​Support the artists, but see them at a venue run by actual professionals. We went on a Saturday night, so it may have been busier than normal. It was completely packed - not all seats had a clear view, and it was first come first served for seating. There was no food, and the drinks took forever to get, but the drinks were good (and expensive) and the comics were funny. read more

Paid $25 a ticket to get in, got there 30 mins before the show, and part of over 100 people who didn't get in because the venue massively oversold. Started the show but didn't tell the audience wrapped around the block that they would not be getting in. Managers and staff outside looking sheepish but not actually telling anyone what's going on, offering refunds, or doing anything but laughing about it. Didn't find out we weren't getting in until we walked up to the front and saw the show playing on monitors in a packed bar. The poor lady at check-in getting barraged with questions from paying customers but no help from anyone running the venue. Horribly managed and not worth the trek up to the East Side. Really embarrassing and not worth the trek into the city. (In response to the comment, my partner bought the tickets and I was her plus one so it would not have been under my name. I rarely leave reviews, but I feel it's important to speak up about how awful this venue was. The space was unsafe--no proper ventilation, overcrowded. The management was rude and completely unprofessional. Worst of all, the bouncers were openly sexist, aggressive, and even body-shamed guests. The environment felt hostile and uncomfortable from the moment we walked in. I genuinely feel bad for the performer--this venue did not reflect the energy or care they put into the show. I would never return here and strongly recommend others avoid booking or attending events at this place. read more

Although some of the comedy was good, much of it was very racist against Jews, Asians, and Indians. I can never understand how making fun of a person's race or religion is ever funny. There was a lot of failed attempted humor about 9/11, which was just plain disturbing and not funny at all. Prices for drinks and food were absolutely ridiculous. Also, the comedy room was not air conditioned and had no ventilation. The ceiling was also falling apart and looked like it could cave in at any second. I was a big and years-long fan of Dangerfield's but the Rodney's reincarnation is the exact update we've been waiting for. The ambience of its new chic and modern setting is warm and inviting. Both times I've been to Rodney's (so far!) the lineups were comedy perfection. Not a single bad act to be seen. Rodney's is a winning destination for a night on town for both comedy fans and regular nightlife fun seekers. The room is large but somehow manages to maintain a feeling of friendly intimacy. I'll definitely be back and soon. Mr. Dangerfield would be proud. read more

They oversold the show by a huge amount and didn't communicate that to the people waiting in line for almost an hour and a half. They also mysteriously sold more tickets on the day of the show, even though it was sold out already? Avoid it if you can, but if you absolutely have to attend something here arrive EARLY, to make sure you don't get screwed. read more

seeing as how they hid all their negative reviews on google im being petty and reposting here bc that rly rustles my jimmies (notice they have 64 reviews and you can only see like 15 online) Its hard to imagine HOW overselling the Taskmaster event happened in the first place, but I do think the truly disappointing part was just how nonchalant (and occasionally almost hostile?) the entire staff was about letting 100s of people stand in line in the cold for an event they paid for... There WAS a nice man in a pink shirt who told us all they would refund us via email tho and we didnt have to stand in the THIRD refund line, so kudos to him. Otherwise, quite the bummer and v surprising this was the venue Taskmaster chose to hold this event in. Hopefully this is a learning experience but as of now I would tell people to be wary of this venue. read more

A+ event venue! Mark and Andrew were wonderful hosts for my birthday bingo party, and the room, stage, and mike/audio system worked perfectly for the bingo host. We had about 80 guests but the room could have easily fit double that amount. The event space, lobby, and bathrooms were all clean and taken care of. Andrew went above and beyond as space manager, bartender, tech wiz, and all around go-to guy to make the event a success. I'd 100% book again! read more
