I went to Broadway dental for many many years & was a patient of Dr. Russ. Save your time, money and teeth by going to someone else. I had over 10K worth the work done by Dr.Russ, including implants, root canals, crowns, posts, pulled teeth etc. All of the work & money put into my teeth and Absolutely NOTHING to show for it a few years down the road. All the work he has done, is gone. He refused to finish work because I didn't have thousands of dollars up front to give him and he wouldn't work with me. I was 18 at the time. I left in tears one day from an infected impacted tooth, and he told me I won't touch you unless you give me $900 today. All he cares about is the almighty dollar. He talks about how much money he makes a year, what his wife drives and spends in a day to his patients sitting in his chair. When he tried pulling one of my back teeth, it was impacted pretty well & he started getting mad as if his ego was bruised he couldn't get the tooth out quick enough. He almost broke my jaw. The implant he placed, never out a tooth in there for me. Now everything has shifted and I have an implant for years for no tooth in place. I finally saw a new dentist & I now need another 15 grand worth the work to finish & replace everything Dr.Russ did. The dentist even told me that whatever was used is the cheapest stuff you can find on the market but that won't stop Dr.Russ from charging you top dollar. Thank you Broadway dental & Dr. Russ for taking my money and destroying my teeth more. I'm in good hands now & I will eventually have a beautiful smile. read more

So far he's done amazing work for me, he's very gentle, always makes sure you're not in pain and goes above and beyond to make sure each procedure has gone perfect and that the end result will be a long lasting tooth. Finding Dr. Sender and Dr. Russ via 1-800-Dentists was a Godsend for me. I first went to Broadway Dental 5 or so years ago and have been very satisfied since. I am not quite sure if the people who left reviews here have been honest. All too often people feel the need to write bad reviews because taking time to write good reviews is just not worth the effort. First, the staff here is extremely professional as well as personable. Never in all of my years being a patient did I have any issues with the costs for treatment or changing and making an appointment. They have been more than accommodating to me as well as to the other patients I have recommended. If a patient is constantly making excuses or cancelling at the last minute it is understandable that they might be charged however, that is not what is happening here. By the way, isn't it the norm these days at most doctors to charge a fee if you don't cancel an appointment within 24 hours? Any regular patient of Broadway Dental knows that if something happens at the last minute that they understand. I also read the reviews here on YELP where someone mentions issues with a receptionist named Carrie. There is no one by that name at that office now or for the entire time that I have been a patient, so you can use your own judgment on the validity of that review. Another issue in the reviews was the costs and payments. Again, never had I experienced any misinformation about the cost of treatment. In fact, they go out of their way to work with the insurance companies to obtain the best payments possible. And you can decide if you want to proceed or not prior to scheduling an appointment. The service provided by both the dentists and dental hygienists are nothing but superior. The excellent communication within all of the staff is very noticeable and everyone works well together. The office and all dental equipment are kept clean. They use all of the modern equipment and procedures to make repairing and healing of surgeries lees evasive. Upon my first visit, I explained my fears of having dental work performed and was surprised as to how accommodating Dr. Sender was by helping me deal with my fears. I was so glad to have found such an understanding dentist that I only wanted to have him work on my teeth. However, I had to go into the office for an unexpected issue and had to see Dr. Russ because Dr. Sender was not in the office on that day. I am happy to report that Dr. Russ is just as accommodating especially understanding my fears as he took excellent care while treating my issue. Then I had to meet the dental hygienist Amelia (Not sure of the correct spelling of her name). I have never had such a thorough check up and cleaning than with her. The dentists have never recommended any treatment for me that was not necessary. All conversations for treatment are discussed in a private consultation room. The decision is totally yours as to what procedures you wish to proceed having performed and there are no pressures to move forward if you decide not to. So have I recommended patients to them, the answer is yes. I have brought four other very satisfied patients to them over the years. So do not totally believe the few bad reviews that you may see posted on YELP or any other website, go for yourself then decide. For me, I will only be going to these dentists because they are professional, honest, and personable. Finally, do I recommend Broadway Dental, my answer is YES without any doubts. read more

I had my wisdom tooth extracted here. I was in a lot of pain and had to get it done right away. I usually dont like going to dentist because they try to rob you everytime when you need them. This one turned out to be no different. They handed me a 1200 dollar bill when I was on the chair about to get it done. eventhough I have a full PPO insurance which the dental office said was not going to cover the whole thing. Having had a huge fear of going to the dentist Dr. Sender and his wonderful staff made my fears go away. They were so accommodating with scheduling my appointment due to my crazy schedule and on time when I arrived at the office. Not only was Dr. Sender so kind and understanding but he made me feel much calmer and less fearful about the procedure! Having dental implants was so scary for me and having my bones grafted was also so scary but not only was is a smooth and really pain-free procedure, but he did the most amazing job ever. My teeth look incredible and and the bedside manner and calls after the procedure were above and beyond. Dr. Sender was extremely friendly and helpful with my Invisalign questions. He gave me some brief options but scheduled me to come back for a second consult for more options. I wish he would have been able to give me financial information while I was there but said I needed to come back. I didnt go to him after all because the scheduling just didnt work for me. They dont have weekends available for consults or patients from what reception said. read more

I will not recommend this dentist to anyone!Missed my appointment due to an unexpected situation. Call the office to apologize since it was out of my control and it was the right thing to do. Carrie the receptionist says to me we are gonna be nice and wave the no-show fee..so I apologize again for not making it (granted that she didn't show any compassion of how apologetic I was) I wanted to re-schedule in a week and she says: NO, call us the day that you can make it ! I said can I re-schedule in 2 weeks ? A month?! Again, NO! NO! So, I said thank you and hang up the phone feeling like the worse person for missing an appointment...I called back again and Donna ( nice lady) she explained that this was a policy there, so basically don't ever get into an accident or anything because if you miss your appointment, you have to just call everyday to see if they will fit you whether this is an emergency or not! I have a cavity and they already charge me $50. ( which, I am certain that will not go back into my credit card!) Certainly, they don't care for whatever pain I could be going thru . This is not the only dentist in Long Island either so I will find someone else for sure! Yelp asks to rate at least 1 star, otherwise I would of left no stars. read more

Horrible customer service!! Certainly will never be returning back to their office. I guess since they updated their crappy office they decide to charge now for rescheduled appointments. As a mom of 3 and living over 16 miles away from the location it would be common decency to allow me to reschedule a root canal however they're were nasty on the phone and tried to get $100 from me. What a rip off. Would not recommend this to place to anyone. read more

Even though there is more work to be completed I am well on my way to be able to go to the dentist for just regular maintenance. Dr. Sender, you are truly and artist, perfectionist, and a professional. I never thought my smile would ever be returned to me. The best I was hoping for was a pain free eating experience. You and your team have exceeded all of my expectations. I would like to formally "Thank You" and your team for always being there for me. There was a time when I had to reschedule on short/no notice I was treated with respect and professionalism and still my dental plan was completed on time with the most professional results. As you are aware I have just relocated to NC but I travel back to NY just to have you work on my dental requirements. This said a lot about you and your team.
