I received a phone call about ten minutes later. They ran out of brisket! The owner Chris called me personally. He offered several reasonable substitutions, but we really wanted the brisket. Chris was very pleasant, personable and polite. He instructed me to call back next Thursday through Sunday, as those are the only days the brisket is sold. The owner apologized for the inconvenience, and said he would include extra brisket in our upcoming order to compensate for their shortage. Chris said to simply place a reminder in the notes on the third party app. He made the resolution so simple! We ordered yesterday, and indicated Chris' instructions on the third party app. The order was delivered quickly and perfectly! The brisket was well worth waiting for, and the restaurant definitely gave us extra meat, as promised. The meat fell right off the fork. I didn't even need to use a knife. This is melt in your mouth brisket, complete with the smoke ring. Real deal. We requested that they put the marinade on the side. Like any good piece of meat, the marinade was complementary, but not necessary. It was just like when you go to an exceptional steakhouse, if the meat is high quality, steak sauce and additional condiments are not required. The corn bread was homemade, soft and tasty. The fries were nicely seasoned and very fresh. The coleslaw and onion rings were excellent. The macaroni and cheese was an interesting blend of shell pasta with a thick peppery cheese sauce. Very good. I would definitely recommend this eatery. Everything was amazing. I will be a repeat customer. I would also like to thank Chris personally for his professionalism and excellent customer service. You should try them if you are looking for great barbecue! A+++

Jason and his team went above and beyond to fulfill what our wish kids were looking for and maximizing our budget. They were creative, flexible, responsive, warm, so easy to work with, they answered all of my million questions leading up to - and even during - the events. One of our kiddos dreamed of a dessert table, and the desserts they provided were incredible and a huge hit. Our other kiddo wanted food stations with a variety for their guests to choose from. Jason and his team were happy to assist in any and every way, even with super last-minute changes - including changes DURING one of the events. Mario served as a mocktail bartender for both of our wishes. He was absolutely amazing. He was so great with the kids and happy to help, and he even stayed later than planned just to make our wish kid happy. The mocktail bar was an enormous hit at both parties. This spot was perfect for our 55 person wedding with views and all. It was picturesque, simple and gave us everything we needed since we had a very DIY wedding. I first worked with Jackie and then Elise took over mid year. Elise was an amazing catering manager. She returned every call, text and email and was so easy to work with and accommodating. I visited several times throughout the year to see the space and she was so helpful every time I came to visit. I even wanted some extra time on top of the 4 hours we booked and Elise was able to take care of everything. I started out working with someone and gained a friend. She was so kind and assured me everything would come out perfectly. It did! Few things to know before you book: -You will have to book with Britannia Yachting Center to book the space separately since they are their own entity. After that, Elise from Harbor View will take care of everything, even communication with the folks who run the space. It felt like a little wonky of an arrangement to book and speak to two people separately, but Elise helped make everything run smoothly. -If you want the outside deck, ask! Just be prepared to pay a small extra fee. In my opinion, totally worth it! -It's bare bones! Be prepared to decorate it up as much as you want, or as little, it is a blank canvas! -Harborview has their own linens and blue chairs, but I do recommend you rent your own that better fit the circular tables, especially for nicer events like showers or bigger parties. I recommend you rent your own chairs as well. -If you want cloth napkins, make sure you ask for them, or rent them yourselves! We just went for their regular paper/cocktail napkins and it worked out just lovely for us since everything was buffet style anyway. -Ask for their preferred vendors. We found our DJ, chair and linen rental, tent rental. Everyone was pretty easy to work with for the most part. There is a very relaxed vibe, but everyone gets their stuff done since they're already familiar with the venue. No one disappointed on the big day and we were able to trust that all our vendors could get their stuff done. Ashely and Mike were great, helpful, nice and fun to work with as well bartending and keeping the place in order all night. Our guests were delighted and pleased with the service. The food was AMAZING! I recommend the mussels, shrimp cocktail, chicken marsala, beef tenderloin and penne a la vodka. All the pastas and seafood here are so good. It was so hard to pick from the menu they showed us because everything looked so good. There were plenty of options as well for our dairy free/vegetarian/vegan guests as well. Our guests continue to rave about how great the food was. For drinks champagne, wine, beer, sangria and soda is all you need for a party here! They also have a liquor package if you like :) The prices for renting the space and for the catering were the best I've seen in New York. My new husband and I didn't want to go in debt for our wedding, and Harbor View helped make that happen! You can still stay budget and have an amazing wedding. We can't wait to come back and celebrate again! We love this space and the restaurant next door, the Whale's Tale. We'll continue to visit as much as we can!
