The Grilled Chicken Panini came out good and hot. I get it every time I come here because there is plenty of chicken and arugula. I could never eat it all in one sitting. I always have to save some for later. Roast maintains consistency, so I know that I am getting outstanding quality every time. My order consistently comes out in about 10 minutes, and the chicken is always juicy, tender and tasty. This is the only eatery on Long Island where I order chicken because I usually don't order chicken when I go out to eat. Why order something that I can make at home? The Grilled Chicken Panini is the only exception. It is that good! The customer service is fantastic because staff is always professional and friendly. This place used to be amazing. I am not sure what happened... maybe new ownership? Maybe focused on too many locations? Maybe trying to cut costs? The BBQ Grilled Chicken Salad (no longer on the menu) was one of the best salads around. However, it was replaced with the Blackened Chicken Salad which isn't very good. The ingredients don't go very well and it doesn't work. The Chicken Salad BLT was a wet mess (maybe the tomato?). There was virtually no bacon except for in the middle and it was broken in pieces. They used to have a Chicken Salad Sandwich with tomato jam which was great! Also say sad that they took the Blackened Shrimp Cobb salad off the menu, another amazing salad. Now there are very limited salad options, 50% of the salad menu is Caesar salad. The food is still good, just not what it was and not special. After ordering up front with the cashier, you can pick any table and they will call your name and bring your order to you once it is ready. This location has 2 high top tables and regular tables inside. There is also a fridge with many drinks to choose from. The menu posted on the wall has soups, salads, sandwiches, paninis, wraps, and breakfast items too. I had the buffalo roasted chicken sandwich and my husband had the roast beef melt sandwich. We shared 1/2 of each. The buffalo roasted chicken had Roasted Chicken Breast, Shredded Romaine, Tomato and Gorgonzola on Toasted Ciabatta. The roast beef melt had Mozzarella, Horseradish Sauce, Garlic Butter & Crispy Onions on Everything Ciabatta with a Side of Au Jus. The ciabatta was fresh and the sandwiches tasted good. We didn't really use the au jus since the roast beef melt tasted really good by itself. The crispy onions was a nice add to the roast beef melt. For the buffalo chicken sandwich, I didn't really taste the gorgonzola. The portions were very good sizes. After you finish, you bus your own table and bring the tray and garbage to the trash can. The Roastest with the Mostest! November 2017 was the last time I was at this Roast location. I got the delicious grilled veggie panini on that visit. It has been replaced by the very tasty and unique Crispy Eggplant Burrata Caprese. Ordered this today with an extra side of Basil Mayo. Loved it - the eggplant was fried in thin slices with a little batter, definitely crispy; add that to the whipped burrata, tomato and balsamic combo on the very fresh n tasty wheat focaccia and you've got a fantastic, big and decadent sammie. Roast Melville is a small and cosy restaurant with maybe 30 or so seats inside; 8 outside. You get the vibe of a small town diner as you walk in and place the order with the happy Manager/cashier/ server Kerri who takes care of the line of 6 hungry folks magnificently, efficiently and effortlessly. The energy is great with all seats full and scrumptious food on display all over. I saw this lovely bbq grilled chicken salad, a loaded potato soup, a chicken gyro wrap and a Philly cheesesteak sangwich. The side order of sweet potato tots was staring me down.They all made me second guess my order. This cool eatery has numerous salads, wraps( yes gluten free options available), paninis, sandwiches and three soups.( photo). It serves breakfast all day and has a pick 2 combo selection from the soups, sandwiches and salads. Roast also has a catering menu with some really good choices.( photo). I passed this place a few times and I'm glad I stopped this time. I was tired of the shake shacks and other fast food chains. I have to say I was happily surprised on how good my sandwich came out. I was between the roast beef sandwich or the Philly cheesesteak. Personally, I am allergic to cheese and butter and the nice lady behind the countered was very courteous and omitted the cheese from my roast beef sandwich. I definitely recommend this place even though it was my first time here. I will be back to try other sandwiches. Also, it's good to eat a better sandwich instead of the fast food garbage out there. All in all, a pretty average experience. I ordered the pick 2 buffalo chicken sandwich and house salad. The sandwich was alright, but a mess to eat. The bread was also so soggy the second I got it. The house salad was put in this small little container, and most of the greens had already gone bad and turned black. The service at the front was also a bit hectic, and overall, it was pretty loud in the store. The good thing is you can tell the moment you walk in what you're going to get. If the place has over 3 people waiting on line plus 3 Delivery folks waiting, RUN. Do not order. You will either be waiting 20 mins for a sandwich or be given half your meal while the deer in the headlights young crew seem to be confused what you originally ordered because they're clearly overwhelmed with the amount of orders dumped upon them. By far my favorite item on the menu is the Angry turkey hickory BLT, and once you have it im sure it will be yours too. I could literally bathe in the signature fry sauce they serve here too (which comes inside the turkey BLT sandwich). Starting just recently all menu items that contain chicken are now certified organic chicken, a great move on Roast's part. I hope they move all meats to organic eventually as I do not mind paying the extra dollar or so for the quality. I love their seasonal as well as daily specials. Every time I go without hesitation I order whatever is on the daily specials, a little more expensive? Sure. But I don't mind because the guys in the kitchen are SO creative I know I won't be let down. Some improvements could be to start rolling in more organic meats as well as offering whole wheat bread or wrap options. What happened? Went today looking for a Southwest Breakfast Wrap my wife had the bowl. Have not had in a while, potato's are now hash browns (called crispy potatoes) no more black beans or other ingredients avocado large chunks greasy and just bland. This place is fantastic for all food, but only good for sandwiches if you're staying inside their location. If you take their sandwiches to go, and they are wrapped, it becomes a disappointing expensive waste. For a paninis, other sandwiches, hash browns - which are supposed to be crunchy - all is lost when you wrap it and take it to go. For some reason, they are not familiar with the fact that you just can't wrap anything that is supposed to be crunchy. The owners should get sandwich boxes/containers with vent holes, and it'll bring this shop's 'to go' orders to a much higher level. But for the record - all their food is fantastic. read more

Pretty great. I may have eaten here once before but maybe not because I don't remember it being this good. The server was really nice. He helped me with a special order (chicken Orlando, which is garlic chicken tomato, mozzarella, garlic roll.) it came out at first without chicken. I am not sure if it has to do with the pandemic but if that's the case I wish they would've said that instead of lying to me. (&There was also maybe two pickles on the entire thing) * A Reuben that somehow tasted like it was from a can, is that a thing or should I praise Roast for inventing it? The thing had coleslaw that seamed like someone's leftover tuna salad. What's sad is I think it's just the coleslaws fault but it makes me not wanna eat any of it. * A fast-food style appearance and atmosphere. I gotta tell you, I don't understand! Not at all! All of you yelpers... love it. Low standards much? Give into hype easily do we? The Reuben was on a rye-esque roll ... shoulda had a toast to it but it was mushy from the liquid, non-crispy slaw and had zero Russian dressing. $10 for what!?
