I'm so glad I found Broadway Watch Repair through the great reviews on Yelp. I took four watches to Mr. Jun in November and he was able to replace the batteries in all four and get them working. The oldest is an almost 30 year-old Citizen watch that I had tried a few times throughout the years to have the battery replaced on. I had no success because of the type of back it has and the possibility of damaging it. Mr. Jun started with that watch and after a few shakes of the head and trying different tools and methods, he was able to get it running again. The other three watches were around 15-20 years old and those were easier for him to replace batteries on. He charged a very reasonable amount, and I gave him a tip as others suggested. In December, we returned to him to shorten the gold band on two watches we bought for Christmas. He removed links and had us try them on a few times to get them just right. My second time at Broadway Watch Repair. I love Skagen watches. I hate the clasps on their bracelets - I'm 0 for 2 with them. I'd scouted around online for places to get the bracelet replaced and prices ranged from $40 and up. So I went back to Broadway Watch Repair, the guy who worked there looked at my watch, and pulled out - from around 20 unmarked plastic containers - a clasp. He has a sign, NO CASH, and since I had 12 bucks with me, I asked if he took Venmo, and he said yes. He told a guy in the next stall (there are bunches of stalls in this place - perfume, jewelry, electronics, and of course watches, and the watch stall was about 8 feet wide and 3.5 feet deep: a bit of spatial organizational genius at work), "8 dollars." I'd been expecting $20 or more. Anyway, five minutes and $8 later, my watch band was fixed. No fuss, no hondling, no upsell. He takes cash and Venmo. Old school, in the best way possible. read more

There is something beautiful about watching a someone who has been practicing their craft for 40 years. This was definitely the case here. Brought in a 20 year old watch from Japan that has a rechargeable solar battery. Most places I called said either they couldn't do the work or they would have to ship it out for repairs.
