Excellent work! My…read morefamily installed solar panels 2 years ago on our south facing roof. The solar company used a subcontractor from New Bedford. Within a year I found a leak in the brand new roof from the solar panel installation. I contacted the solar company and and were "unable to locate" the subcontractor that they had originally used for the negligent installation. I called several local roofing companies to make repairs ...(and by several I mean 6). Not only is Skip, the owner Cape Cod Roofing, the ONLY contractor to get back to me, but he spoke to me at length to ascertain the exact nature of the problem. He made me realize it wasn't uncommon for leaks to occur from solar panel installation. In essence, he calmed my nerves He arrived at the house giving us about a week notice so we could meet him there. He used my input to figure out exactly where the leak was, as well as other potential problems with initial installation. He found several areas of concern including poorly secured brackets and broken roofing shingles...(exactly where the leak was occurring). Skip took pictures throughout the process so I could have the necessary documentation to file the claim with the solar company. He sealed the roof, made the necessary repairs...and the GREAT news: its been torrential rain for the past 24 hours....and there are NO LEAKS! Skip and his worker were very professional and easy to work with I'm very happy with the repair I would use them again I have already given 2 neighbors a heads up about this good local company

I needed to have the roof replaced on the estate house within 30 days for insurance purposes. I contacted Vaz Construction and was connected with Elijah DeSouzs as my project manger. He was the best. The roofing crew worked from morning until night and they were great! They left no mess or debri in the yard. If you need any construction work done, call Vaz and ask for Elijah. You won't be sorry.

One guy would be there for three days and then someone new would show up and have no clue what the last guy did. One of the employees painted the bathroom walls without even wiping the walls down after sanding. What a mess and it had to all be redone, which I am sure would not have happened if I did not complain. At one point, I had to tell the project manager that I did not want anyone in my home until I met with him. The lack of craftsmanship, and integrity was upsetting to say the least. Who puts kitchen cabinets in before painting??? Once the job was complete, it took Vaz Construction another month to come back and finish the things that were not completed. Overall the experience was very disappointing, even more-so with the amount of money they charged us for their sub par work.

Originally I gave Stasinos 5 stars but due to their failure to repair fallen slates as waranteed…read moreduring the first 10 years, I am changing the review to 2 stars. Starting two or three years after replacing a slate roof, several slates started shedding, which should never happen on a newly installed slate roof. They also only left me with a very small fraction of the leftover slate we paid for saying I would never have to replace a slate here after their work. First there were three fallen slates off the center which it took him a long time to replace. Not long after another 2, which took even longer. Once they came after numerous calls and replaced one slate with a white slate or other material in the center of a gray roof. They did eventually fix it with the correct color but only after calling numerous times. You would think after months of calling (and having so much of our original slate) they would at least do it right. Since then another slate has fallen off and we have been calling him for months to replace it with no response. In addition to that, a year after install, I found out that the workers dumped nails, wood and slate fragments into our downspouts which lead into the house and a separate drainage system, which caused flooding problems in the basement, which I had to remedy at my own expense. They also failed to correctly replace flashing near one area above a window which caused water damage as well. They did eventually fix the flashing but that too took a long time and after damage had been done on the inside of the house. Their workmanship may be okay and many of their workers are very good, but if there are problems, the owner's warranty isn't worth much. He constantly ignore calls.

Out of four roofers, I settled on Sousa and another well known company as the finalists. One guy…read moregave me a price that was ridiculously low. That was a red flag so I threw his quote in the trash. The third was comparable in price with Sousa and the other, but the sales guy was not so friendly. Like I owed him for his time. Maybe because he saw me as an elder so he felt he could try to take advantage of me, not sure. First off Sousa wasn't the cheapest and frankly about $800 more than the other roofing contractor. The reason I chose Sousa was because they gave me their cost up front, with a very detailed proposal listing everything even with costs up front in case I need to replace plywood etc., and didn't try to haggle me with extras. I did ask if they could take some money off, and they agreed to discount 300 bucks. Still a few hundred more than the other roofer but my gut was telling me lean towards Sousa. There was no start high, then sell me this and that, we have the Cadillac version, we have this version. Just give me a damn quote that tells me what I get and how much. So something didn't sit right with me, so I went with Sousa. Gave them my word over the phone. The next day I met with the owner and we signed the contract and scheduled my roof install. Within six days I had materials delivered, crew showed up at 7am and a new roof installed by 5pm and everything cleaned up. The owner set his guys up in the morning, then popped by again a few hours later and we chatted for a good hour about everything but the roof. What a fine young man he is. Very down to earth and good person. I'm happy with my roof. We have had a lot rain since and no issues so far. My son who lives in Plainville also needs a new roof and has already signed up Sousa to do the work at the end of June. I highly recommend Sousa Roofing and would use them again and recommend them to anyone looking for a roofer. God Bless.
