Scott stated the current floors were white oak while the other bidder stated the floors were red oak. To alleviate our concerns Scott came out to the house, sanded a large square of the floor. He brought several samples of unfinished red and white oak boards. Together we determined the flooring is white oak. The house had 3 different tones of white oak floor. In addition, we had the tile floors in the foyer and kitchen removed and new white oak flooring installed. Our goal was to get all of the floors to a similar tone. This required additional sanding to achieve. Scott finished the floors with 3 coats of Bona HD High Traffic Matte clear coat. It is impossible to determine where the new floors meet the old. The floors are gorgeous. Scott and his crew are true professionals. They showed up on time and worked extra hours to get the job done. So I dealt mainly with the owner Andre who had recently taken the business over from his father. I could tell by his knowledge and how he answered my questions that he's been at it a long time and that made me feel incredibly comfortable. One thing that I want to point out was how incredibly difficult I made this deal on Andre due to the time restrictions I had put on him. I basically had no wiggle room whatsoever in a time when COVID has made shipping completely unpredictable. But unfortunately for him this was the last piece of the puzzle in a long drawn out project that I started and my family just needed it done in order to move on with our lives. The pressure I put on this man was easily enough for most to give up. But instead Andre absolutely bent over backwards to help us out. Even in saying that I think it's an understatement. On the day of install he actually shows up with carpet and helped the installers for hours just to get the project done. I honestly couldn't appreciate his service anymore. His father should be incredibly proud he has left his business in great hands. The carpet,pad and install are all top notch.
