This food truck offer small selection of comfort, simple Filipino food. I went for Platter #1 which includes: - Pork barbecue skewered, taste exactly like Thai barbecue that I'm familiar with. Tender, flavorful, sweet and salty. - Pancit rice noodles which I thought it might be on the plain side but nope, the noodles had lots of flavor. I added some red chili flakes and it taste even better. - Lumpia, the most divine Filipino snacks, always delicious. Unfortunately, didn't expect to see such micro-sized lumpia, I'm a bit disappointed. Overall, tasty. Everything had lots of flavor similar to Thai food that I love. Price is fine, reasonable for food truck. Portion is somewhat small but then again you can never have enough delicious Asian food. I appreciated the subtle spicy kick in it. As an Indonesian, I recognize that each ethnic group within Indonesia makes dishes differently. This however particularly reminded me of the Malaysian version of rendang. The sauce was too runny for my liking, lighter in color and had slices of white onion in it. I was happy to find that the pho here really delivered. I ordered the beef pho, and the broth was rich, flavorful, and tasted very close to what I grew up eating. You can tell that care went into developing the broth, and that was definitely the highlight of my meal. That said, I do have some constructive feedback. I ordered both the beef pho and the special combination bánh mì, and after tax and tip, my total came out to around $30. For that price, I expected larger portions. The pho itself was delicious, but the noodle portion felt quite small, and I left still feeling hungry. If the restaurant increased the amount of noodles, I think the pho would easily earn 5 stars from me. Unfortunately, the special combination bánh mì was disappointing. The bread was very hard, dry, and tasted stale rather than light and crispy. A good bánh mì should have a crusty exterior while still being soft and airy inside, but this one was difficult to eat, and I found myself dipping it into the pho broth just to soften it up. I also felt that the fillings could be improved. The pork skin was quite chewy, there wasn't enough chả lụa, and I would have loved to see more pâté, which is such an important component of a traditional đặc biệt bánh mì. The fillings overall felt a bit underwhelming compared to the authentic bánh mì I grew up with. Overall, I appreciate that this restaurant offers authentic Vietnamese flavors, especially in their pho. With some adjustments to portion sizes and fresher, higher-quality bread for the bánh mì, I think this place has the potential to be outstanding. Instead of checking, the employee repeatedly insisted, "The ice is in the bag." I replied several times, "I already checked. There is no ice. Please give me my ice." She continued insisting it was there, as though I was trying to scam the restaurant out of ten cents' worth of ice. After several rounds of back-and-forth, another employee walked over... carrying a bag of ice. So yes, the ice had been forgotten all along. Instead of simply apologizing and handing me a replacement, they chose to argue with a paying customer over something that probably costs them pennies. They never say "I'm so sorry here's your ice and for your inconvenience pls accept our apologies and take this extra dessert, our complement for messing up the order". The restaurant itself feels chaotic. Their numbering and communication system between the order taker and the cashier clearly needs improvement. Whatever special instructions you give when ordering, you'd better repeat them again at the register or better yet, inspect your order before leaving. The problem is that the checkout area is so hectic that you almost feel rushed to move along. In my case, I felt like I was getting dirty looks for taking too long to verify my order worth over $60 so I checked it in my car instead which is how I discovered the missing ice.
