Really cute and open place, great for small groups and kids. The staff was welcoming, clean, and restrooms had a changing table. We got there at lunch on a Saturday so a little slow but just gave more time to catch up and understandable given the time. Kids butter noodles were a success however peanut butter and jelly was a pass. It's fancy bread and no 4 year old wants to go near that so we shared butter noodles. But the pizza, salad, jambalaya and pasta were great and loved the portions. Just enough! We will be back!

The tomato soup was delicious. The strawberry spinach salad left a lot to be desired. The spinach tasted old. I don't think that there was even a whole strawberry on it. So, now I know. The waitress was nice but never offered to refill our coffee or tea. The Cafe is fun. And usually pretty good. Maybe it was an "off" day.

Ambiance and service are lovely. I was very excited to try this chef forward menu. The actual building and Rox bar next door have a fun cool vibe. We started with homemade pot stickers, which were excellent. We then had a nice parmesean salad. Not great. Dressing was runny and flavorless. Next was a brie with apples, grapes, and smoked almonds. The brie was oily and definitely not a double creme. It tasted cheap. I ate a few bites and gave up as it wasn't very good. The bread that is baked in house was also featured on the borad. My husband ordered the Cajun shrimp pasta that he really liked. I found it to be strongly fishy tasting. The bite of the sauce was nice however it was very runny. We both enjoyed the peach shortcake. Excellent! Crispy homemade shortbread with exquisite peaches and fresh cream fraiche. I'm torn as they are on the right track but should consider the ingredients they are utilizing.

Everything was fresh and the service was great. Tried a bunch of different plates and none of them disappointed. The sockeye salmon pizza was an awesome surprise.

Another visit another great experience. Met up with friends again and enjoyed a wonderful meal. Although a lot of food was ordered by the four of us the only photo taken was of my shrimp and artichoke pasta. Only regret was forgetting to bring home their amazing store baked bread. I recommend making reservations especially for dinner. They are very GF accommodating. Highly recommend.

Once again, we made another stop at Broken Rocks. This has become our #1 place for food and as always, never leaves us disappointed. The staff were friendly and our waitress made sure we enjoyed our meal and wasn't overbearing in checking on us. Even the staff who didn't wait on us were nice and polite and spoke to us as we were walking out. Environment is very relaxing and has a "go with the flow" feel. We were able to enjoy our conversation without feeling like we were shouting at each other. And these photos don't even do the food justice. Everything was AMAZING and we will be back again!

Just had my daughter's baby shower here and it was so nice. Everything from planning to boxing leftover cake was effortless. Sierra, their event planner, is the best! She helped me put together a limited menu, made beautiful customized menus and answered my numerous questions patiently. I'm embarrassed to say that I forgot our server's name but she was fantastic. She suggested peach mint lemonade so the mom to be could have a fancy drink, checked in just enough without hovering and cut up the vast amount of leftover cake we had. The Backroom was a nice place for a small shower. It was big enough for 15 people plus 2 gift tables and a cake table. I highly recommend Broken Rocks Cafe if you're having a small local event.

So, every time I come to town I have to come here and get my fish sandwich fix. I've ordered other dishes before and they have always been delicious but some reason the fish sandwich is the thing to get. Being from California we can get some good seafood so me ordering fish it must be good. It comes with big old potato wedges which are ok. The service is always exceptional. They also have a good beer, wine, and cocktail selection. See you next year.

Butter cake. Is…read morethere anything else that needs to be spoken?!? Butter cake is a thing my dreams are made of. It is warm. It is a beautiful fluffy texture that is saturated with flavor and absolutely melts in your mouth. This place is a fancy restaurant that we snuck into on a day off. We didn't have reservations but were able to be accommodated quickly without one. The steak was good but not anything I feel like needs to be focused on (I know a steak house) I got the delmonico and honestly I wasn't impressed at all. My partners was delicious though so I think it was just a matter of the cut I got. We got the artichoke dip and it was good too but nothing out of this world. But the butter cake. I would pay $65 for a steak I didn't even finish for that butter cake any day of my life. So yes this is a 5 star review of a place I had average (now my average is likely ground breaking food... I am a true food snob) food at and paid $200 for the meal without alcohol, because of the butter cake. Other notes: our server was awesome too and the ambiance is definitely ON POINT! Really lovely place. Unfortunate my steak wasn't better, but I can see that it's a good place and that dessert is top 3 in my life. Loved it!!!

It's a big restaurant off of a country road with plenty of parking. As of two weeks ago they were doing work on the highway that was kind of unpleasant with grated roads and lane closures but it looks like it will be done soon maybe.... Anyway, it's a large space with a gift shop and shabby chic decor that all appeared to be for sale since everything has a price tag on it even in the restaurant. The service was pleasant enough. The menu has fairly straightforward cafe like offerings of sandwiches and salads. I wanted something light so I opted for the cesar salad in spite of my reservations when it said tomatoes and olives were on it. Weird but whatever chicken, lettuce, croutons and cesar dressing still felt on brand so I went for it. This is not a cesar salad. It was a salad with balsamic dressing of some kind, toasted bread with the crust cut off and a cold chicken breast. And, it comes with bread but I was told they didn't have rye so I ended up with sourdough that was also not sourdough and the waitperson didn't bring it until I was mostly through eating my refrigerator cold chicken. Just, yikes. Additionally, I still don't know how there was rye for my sister's sandwich but I wasn't allowed to order it with my food. As for her lunch, the pastrami was fine but with a lackluster amount of meat. The French onion soup was the only thing that felt reasonable with quality and price. All in all, I think the snack bars or even grocery stores in the area/ Amish country appeared to have better offerings. I wouldn't recommend this place for lunch. The gift shop was cute and reasonably priced so maybe check it out for that but that's it.

Always delicious and beautiful setting for lunch. Crowded most of the time so make a reservation…read more The French onion soup is great

The food I have ate here maaaybe 3 times? & every time I'm just disappointed with the food. I had the "cheesy Louisey" the last time & it was disgusting in my opinion.. it says "beer cheese" which I really like the white beer cheeses.. this was the yellow kind? & literally DRENCHED in it.. so much so, it was gross & inedible to me. Boneless Wings are decent, but not great. I always get a "Green Tea Shot" but in a drink, full cup form lol not a shot. & it always yummy. The bar guy is always fun & great! They also have a ducky claw machine, def entertaining. Also a few other games that my kids enjoyed. Outdoor dining but we couldn't order from out there due to staffing issues? Recently. I think it was. So we had to eat inside. I guess you can table sit, order, & THEN take it outside.. is what we were told. But we just didn't. We wanted to fully dine outside. Decent food & experience. I probably wouldn't have came back if it wasn't within walking distance to a hotel & a local friend being a frequent flyer.
