Kathy gave us 5-star service from start to finish! I recommend making reservations during the weekends, it gets very crowded here during breakfast. The parking lot is shared with Phil's BBQ so parking can get tight but there is parking available in the Target lot and the old Mimi's lot. The service was excellent the food and drink menu has depth, it is a plus that the breakfast was delicious. During this visit I got the short stack pancakes with blueberries on top, these were fluffy and fresh. Large enough to satisfy an adult. We also got the Ranchero Skillet, fresh avocado, loaded with Jack cheese. It was delicious and enough to feed two adults. I also got a vanilla latte, and OJ, both of these drinks were very good. There are seats at the bar that has sports on the overhead TVs. There is also outdoor tables. We'll be back. Enjoy!

In the Santee shopping center sits this grade A breakfast spot! I really liked this spot! Upon walking in you notice the decor right away, very well put together for a breakfast joint! Immaculately clean inside and out. Restrooms look amazing! Tables were all clean, busters stay busy and moving with smiles on their face. The bang for the buck here is it for sure!! Was very pleased with the portions of all plates! I had the mom omelette rich is loaded with greens and mushrooms, not everyone's taste but it's definitely mine! If you're gonna try to get healthy for the first day start this is not a bad choice!! DELICIOUS and flavorful!!! My daughter got the Cinni Stack pancakes and tore it up! My girlfriend's son had the Mickey pancakes from the kids menu, my girlfriend had the açaí bowl and they both loved them. The bowl was filled to the top. The service was amazing! We got the pleasure of dealing with Maria as our server. She was sooooo tentative and try welcoming!!! I will definitely be coming back not only because food but for Maria's service!! GIVE HER A RAISE!!! See you soon Broken Yolk of Santee I mite add that there is Nothing Bundt Cakes and Crumble Cookie within walking distance

Kids Grilled Cheese with bacon and scrambled eggs.

Had the weekend off with the family which doesn't happen often so we decided to have breakfast, I've been to a broken yolk maybe one other time and didn't remember liking it or not so I said hey let's try it again. Sunday, so of course super busy. We were told it would be about 30-45 minutes but we only waited like 20-25 which was cool. Our server, I'm forgetting her name unfortunately but she did have two braids and her name started with an R, so sorry I forgot your name, she was super friendly and got to us quick. I ordered the club with sweet potato fries, my wife the chilaquiles bowl and my daughter the grilled cheese. The food didn't come out too quick which was ok because when it comes out too quick I start to wonder if "Chef Mic" is running the show. My sandwich was great, I ordered it with sourdough, I tried the chilaquiles and the sauce was really good as well. Had a nice spicy zip, not too much not too little. My daughter enjoyed her meal as well. I forgot to take the photos until we almost finished so that was my bad. Our server was great, really on top of the drink refills. Overall very nice experience.

Broken Yolk Santee is a beautiful restaurant in Town Center, great location and easy parking. The layout is so nice and spacious and beautiful decorated. The staff was warm and friendly giving you that "Mom & Pop" feel with a craft food experience. Killer mimosa that was larger than life (just like their billboards advertise SIZE MATTERS!) Loved the flight choices, I got to try their mimosa flight. Very tasty and shockingly loved the grapefruit and lemonade choices (though pomegranate and original were good too). Our server Anthony made very nice suggestions on the menu through various selections. I chose one of the options he suggested "Pick 2 Benedict" and I'm so glad I did! I tried one of their infamous sope Benedict's and their chicken and waffle Benedict... wow! How unique and delicious! I will totally be back for this and there were so many other menu options to try. My new friend tried the Western burger and fries and he was surprised at how amazing the burger was and it was cooked to perfection. I can't wait to bring my fam and friends back to this location and can't wait to try other menu items! This will definitely be a new breakfast spot staple in my East County household! Use any excuse to come snag breakfast or lunch here. You will not be disappointed!

The restaurant looks clean and has ample of space to sit inside and out. The staff were attentive and friendly. We were with a big party and they were able to sit us pretty quick on a busy Saturday morning. We all ordered different items and everyone was content. My breakfast was huge and it was well-seasoned. I would go back.

Every dish that came out was hot, well-presented, and tasted like it was made with real care. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. What really stood out to me was how clean the entire place is. From the tables to the floors to the restrooms, everything was spotless. That alone makes a huge difference when you're enjoying a meal. And the service? Top tier. Lupita went above and beyond. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we walked in. She made sure everything was perfect, checked on us at just the right times, and had such a positive attitude that it elevated the whole experience. Great food, clean environment, and outstanding service. I'll definitely be coming back -- and asking for Lupita again. Highly recommend.

I chose the ruben sandwich because I didn't trust the monte cristo description of being Grilled and not battered and deep fried as it should be. Jimmy's does have a good selection of pies and desserts. Cherry pie, Cheesecake, carrot cake, pecan pie. Our order, 2 pepsis, 1 burger, 1 reuben and 2 cherry pies for lunch came to $78 w tip. Our server Jose A. was very good but the sodas were $4.69 EACH. As adults, I think we all know now that soda costs Pennies for a business. If our bill had been $25 less we might go back....but It was NOT worth $80.

Inside the shop they allowed people to bring their own trading card collection to trade with each other. They had specialty drinks made specifically for the show, Pokemon themed. There's a good amount of seating inside and seems like a good place to hang out or study. They have different books and board games around the shop too. I tried two drinks when I came. I got the coconut matcha because it was one of the themed drinks but wasn't impressed with it. I probably should've known better than to order matcha at a coffee shop but I'm a sucker for coconut. For my second (redemption) drink I got the Samoa which was a mocha, coconut, and caramel latte. This one was delicious. It had a great coffee flavor with a nice smooth caramel companion. It wasn't overly sweet and not bitter at all. The baristas were all great too. My drinks came out quickly despite it being busy with the show. Definitely a great coffee shop to check out!

Becky and I are not well versed in the world of fancy coffee, so we typically rely on those we are with to provide recommendations. Saturday we were on our own. We wanted a late afternoon pick-me-up and Kaffee Meister is a very short distance from our house. I walked in and was warmly greeted by the pleasant young woman behind the counter (I did not catch her name). I asked for two caramel iced coffees. She very nicely and patiently explained to me the different options of my generic "iced coffees" term. Lattes, cold brews, espressos, etc. Her recommendation was Caramel Frappes, so that is what I ordered. One with whipped cream (for Becky) and mine without. As I waited, I looked around the room. It was really cool. Very homey, neighborhood cafe vibe. A few tables and a couch and comfy chairs along with some tables and chairs dotted the room. The room was really nicely decorated. I liked the spiral staircase shelving. They have some outdoor seating as well. In addition to coffees, they offer a food menu. Pastries, bagels, açaí bowls, sandwiches and the like. I drive by Kaffee Meister almost daily and often I will see that they have live music which is cool. I waited maybe three or four minutes for my name to be called, and I was handed my two frappes. I like a simple cup o' Joe. Black, no sugar, no sweeteners. At home I drink Kirkland brand ground coffee from a drip coffee maker. That said, I really enjoyed the Caramel Frappe. It was not too sweet and retained subtle coffee flavor. Becky very much enjoyed hers too. Neither of us had ever had a frappe before. We were surprised by the milkshake-like creamy texture. They provided the perfect pick-me up we were looking for. About 17 bucks after tip. We'd return for sure.

So we got back a second time and sit down to order, "Chicken and waffles please" - they are out of chicken. Oof! Strike 1. That sucks. She was disappointed but she got something else and we shrugged it off. Then about 2 weeks back we came in again... this time I asked first, "Do you have chicken for the chicken and waffles?" They are out of waffles. Oof! Strike 2! And isn't it just batter? I don't get it. We didn't stay that time because my daughter was visibly sad this time. So I think we are done trying or else this just becomes a running gag we try to get out of, like Groundhogs Day or something... Atmosphere: It's cozy inside. I love all of the details, like the wood carvings and all of the bear stuff. It's like you're in a log cabin. And I like that they have paper menus and throw them away (because plastic reusable menus are germ magnets). The newspaper-esque theme is pretty cool too. Price: It's no more expensive than say, Dennys or Ihop. Middle of the road and they have lots of options. A decent meal for two - 50$. Service: Each time we have been, the servers have been great. Nice servers and even when the guy had to tell us they were out of chicken, he was super apologetic. No complaints on the service. Overall: It's a nice place... when they have the advertised food. So I honestly don't know if we will be back or not. Maybe we will give it a shot but I don't want my daughter to be disappointed again. I get it, if it was something they only made 50 of a day, I'd understand. But... chicken and waffles? Hmmm...

Very unique and we totally would've tried some ribs had we not gone to Phil's for the first time the night before and had a ton of leftovers. We split a Country Benny and the Jalapeño scramble, which had their homemade pulled pork in it. Julie was an outstanding server. Super patient, attentive, and helpful. You can choose muffins or coffee cake (only $1 extra!) instead of toast, which I love by the way, but I really appreciated that she asked if I had tried the coffee cake because it's not what I thought it was. She explained it as more of a vanilla cupcake with nuts and white icing? Which is kinda random that they call it coffee cake, but it made us opt for the zucchini muffin which was definitely the right choice. Moist, warm, and delicious to nibble on while we waited for the rest of our meal. She also asked if we needed anything else, like salsa, when our entrees came. Which, I usually alwayyys have to request but she was 2 steps ahead of us. The Bloody Mary was tasty and just strong enough to start our afternoon. I'm a huge sucka for biscuits & gravy and theirs really hit the spot. The sausage patty was so good and definitely homemade. Perfectly poached eggs harmoniously smothered in yummy gravy and fluffy biscuits. Crispy hashbrowns, great country potatoes. The scramble was good, too. Pulled pork had a nice smoky flavor and I've never seen nor had it with eggs before which is awesome. The portions were just right. Not huge, but we got full and everything tasted great so what more can you ask for? The deep fried pie! Duh. Super bummed we didn't take a peach one home...
