When we arrived, I ordered the Churro French Toast with scrambled eggs and sausages, as well as their Messy Caramel Latte. Figured go out and treat myself on our last day in SD. The french toast was HUGE, which makes sense for the price of the order. The caramel latte was like any other caramel latte, but still good nonetheless. I didn't take enough pictures of the rest of the food or place, but will say it was a very good family-friendly spot that had good service and friendly employees. They'd check occasionally if we needed anymore coffee or water and were very accommodating. Me and my aunt saw this place on a TikTok for best food spots in San Diego and man am I happy we went here. The food is so freaking delicious! The photos and reviews did not lie!! This place is beautiful with fantastic staff and food! This place is EXTREMELY busy so definitely reserve in advance if you could or else you can see yourself waiting up to thirty minutes for a table. This place is in a shopping center so you can stroll around if you want to. But the food is definitely worth the wait! Service: The staff here are extremely friendly, funny, and fast! They have great recommendations, whilst also accommodating to customers. There was a child there who had gotten all A's on his report card and one of the servers got everyones attention and had made us give the child a round of applause which was very nice of that man! As for accommodation -- my aunt ordered a drink but she didn't know there was liquor in it and the manager took it off our bill and gave us another drink! That was very sweet of her! Food: Wild west burger [5/5] The burger was juicy and the sauces complement the sandwich well. Cooked to perfection and the onion rings were crispy and tasted so sweet they were absolutely to die for! Tiki Toast [5/5] This toast is FANTASTIC!! It tastes like heaven. It's so sweet and succulent! The syrup was amazing and the berries were a great touch. I would HIGHLY recommend this. The presentation was beautiful as well. Everything about this meal was just chefs kiss! Waffle sandwich [5/5] This sandwich was so delicious. I don't know how their waffles are made but the waffle is amazing! It tastes sweet yet savory at the same time! The whole sandwich just felt like it was melting in your mouth this is one of the best bacon egg and cheeses I've ever had. Iced Messy caramel macchiato [5/5] This was amazing! Add some creamer and oat milk and this is best macchiato you'll ever have. I enjoyed this drink so much I was sad I didn't buy another one but it was very delicious! The food was just out of this world and I'd recommend to stop by here! Ambiance: The store is beautiful and spacious. It's very cozy. I like the layout of the building. Theres also outdoor seating! Overall, this place is fantastic and I'd 100% recommend to everyone. I've been to the Broken Yolk Cafe multiple times and so far everything I've tried has always been great. My favorite order has been the Monte Cristo! Absolute banger! The place itself is cute on the inside but just a little noisy. Especially on the weekends, this is usually when it's the most full. I also haven't interacted with any bad servers in our many visits here either. So I'd like to think this makes the place worthy of a higher rating. read more

So when you think about Broken Yolk Cafe you don't think of a seaside or beachside type bar restaurant in the middle of a suburb, but this is exactly what it was like when you went to this one! Big screen TVs for football, particularly today, wild card playoff day! This BYC has outdoor seating, indoor outdoor bar area, it was made for it to be a hang out as much as it is to be a breakfast place. So if you're looking for a cool place to hang out in East county look no further than this broken your Cafe cause it's a bit different. If there are any others like out there I don't know of any other ones I've been to several of them around Southern California, and this one is unique. The menu was great! Breakfast items, of course however, it also had burgers and steaks and açai bowls, what!!! my BLT sandwiches was the bomb,I had to pay a little extra for the avocado but was well worth it! Came here for Mother's Day breakfast. Thank god we went on waitlist because it was packed and we were seated relatively quickly. Unfortunately we couldn't enjoy our meal with our kids being rowdy so we boxed it up but the service was great and our server was outstanding and great dealing with our challenges. I have tried so many different menu items and they are all so good! I have never had anything that I wouldn't try again. The Mimosa & Bloody Mary flights are so delicious and poured with a good alcohol to mixer ratio. Service is immaculate even when they are very busy (typically more Fri-Sun). They keep their restaurant and restrooms very clean, I have never experienced otherwise. I recommend signing up for their rewards program, it is free and I am always getting money off of my order. I have been to the Dowtown San Diego location, El Cajon location & Santee location and I can speak the same for all 3 locations!! But Santee is my favorite! 10/10 recommended. read more

Met a friend here for breakfast. She had injured her wrist in a fall evacuating a hotel during a fire alarm. Unable to use her right hand she asked if they could cut her avocado toast. Though they don't normally do so they accommodated her and cut it for her. I thought that was very courteous! Our waiter, Anthony M., was very good & attentive. We had a party total of 8. We had a reservation and they noted about an 2 hour wait - so we left to drink at another bar to come back. This is by far completely our own fault by the way. But when we got back, they had called our name and our reservation was given up which sucked so we re-enlisted or whatever. The host or manager understood our situation and they were able to accommodate all 8 of us by getting these 2 open tables (one set inside and the other next to it but outside). So it was pretty cool how they still fit us in - we had to wait a little bit more which is understandble. The food was pretty good - I can't say its the greatest but it isn't the worse either. I got the Monte Cristo. It was my first Monte Cristo ever and oh my lanta my sweet tooth ass was lovin' every bite. And I got a mimosa flight which was fantastic. All the sugar in the world and what more could I ask for? If you've never had a Monte Cristo before, I suggest it if you have a sweet savory tooth. This is a newer brunch location in Santee and inside the shopping center so there is alot of parking. On the weekends, this place can get really busy. Today I went on a Friday morning and did not have a wait. Inside, the place is really cute and you would never expect it to be in Santee. It gives Hillcrest and North Park vibes. As much as I was hoping to love the place, the food is meh. My mom ordered the mom omelette and I ordered the chicken and waffles. Both were very bland. The chicken and waffles was just chicken strips on a bland, not crispy waffle. And some powdered sugar. My mom liked the omelette but she said nothing in particular stood out. Her toast was soggy because of how much butter was on it. I also ordered a drink and they didn't bring it so I just thought it's okay they forgot it, I won't be charged. The server then drops the check with the drink on it. Of course they were apologetic, but if I get a drink to go because they forgot to give it to me while I'm there, I'd expect them to take it off the check. Nope.
