    Brussels Sprouts

This is a great family friendly spot! Their food is consistently good and their beer and drinks are great! We love that there were many kids there, outdoor games and board games to play, and it's just an overall fun place. I'm dreaming of the Brussel sprouts. They were amazing!

First time going and it felt okay. Didn't really feel our server was really attentive but she could've been having a bad day . They have a cool space area The food was fine , pretty decent portion , they charge +2 for getting fries with your burger so that's that . The alternative is a salad with your burger for no extra charge

Stopped by Field Brewing and tried the Basic Witch pumpkin red ale. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't overly sweet, just smooth with a nice finish. Paired it with their mac & cheese, which was buttery and creamy. On a cold fall day, it was the perfect pick-me-up!

Met some friends for dinner at Field Brewing and were fairly underwhelmed. They have six beers on their flagship brew list and another eight on a seasonal brew list. They have a scratch kitchen with rotating menus. We tried the 'fried chicken sando' and 'field burger' with sides of french fries and mac & cheese. The chicken sandwich had little to no breading to the point I was wondering if they just forgot to bread it before cooking. The burger wasn't very juicy and was overly pickled. Both buns were dry. Overall, this spot has potential as the space is really cool and the menu items sound appealing, however the execution just wasn't on point when we went. On a side, our server was super friendly and attentive.

We stopped in here for a beer and a little snack before another event we had to go to. As always, the food was incredible. We got the loaded fries and they were so good. The bacon on them was top-notch! Our server was great and she came around to check on us often. This is always a great spot for families, date night, girls night. And you can bring dogs on the patio. Right now they also have cute igloos you can rent out for lunch or dinner. They include blankets as well to stay warm.

Our original intent was a beer and a snack when we went here. I wish we were hungry enough for entrees! The bartender was phenomenal! She told us all about the company and was s great conversation. Their wings were some of the best bone-in wings we've had in Indy. Perfect crispiness on the outside while tender on the inside. The flavors were fantastic. Their take on a Cesar salad was so good. The pickled eggs (as well as all of their pickles) are made in house. The place itself was so charming. We even debated having our wedding reception in their additional room. We will definitely be back here!

My first time at field brewing and it was fantastic!!! I had an order of their Alabama bbq wings with the most amazing brassica salad! OUTSTANDING! They even had a gluten free IPA beer which was really good! Our server was sooooo awesome! She had great recommendations and checked on us frequently. This place was huge and I loved the vibe of the coffee shop, bar, & restaurant altogether. They even had games and outdoor seating. Can't wait to go back!

Field brewing is a really fun place to visit for the summer! We had amazing wings, fries, a side salad and a burger. They also have this incredible sauce, Parmesan ranch, that was offered with the fries and wings! The service was amazing and personable. The outdoor seating area and indoor area both have cute decor and a fun and casual vibe. The only downside I have to offer was parking just because it wasn't directly outside of the building. However, we didn't see it as a problem because it was still extremely close and there were signs leading you directly to the overflow parking lot. They also offer outdoor games like corn hole! Definitely worth the visit and we will be going back!

Stopped into Field before an event at Grand Park. What a BEAUTIFUL space this is- Indoor and out! Super clean with modern touches throughout. For such a large space the bar top is small though. Shout out to my server for letting me know they could do an espresso martini when I was chatting with my guest about being on the fence between one of their espresso drinks or a drink. As for the brews, it's a bummer that they had no in house options for sour beers, ciders, fruit beers, shandys, nothin even close. They have Ash & Elm but I wanted to try something of theirs. The food was really well done. My husband had the soup of the day and said it was the best mushroom soup he's ever had. Menu prices are higher than you might expect for a brewery but so worth it for the quality. Outdoor seating, enough space for a small gathering, a table of board games, coffee drinks, beers and great food. A lot of great things going on here!

Ask the Community - Field Brewing

    Is there a kids menu?

Yes, a kids menu is available.

    Are dogs allowed outside?

    yes

We like the restaurant, but now that there is no parking in the street in front, find it hard to get in and out. Is there a plan for additional parking?

Hi Fred, Thanks so much for dining with us and your interest in finding a prime parking space! There is parking all along the street in front of the brewery. Sometimes the no parking signs confuse people, but the city is trying to communicate that…

Are there any vegetarian options? I can't find a menu online. Thanks

Yes! We have a lot of vegetarian options and can even accommodate vegan options as well. You may enjoy some of the following vegetarian options: sprouted grain burger, grain bowl, ricotta gnocchi, beet salad, sweet potato wedges, spent grain…

Do you need reservations on weekends?

We do not take reserations. Thank you.

If you've never been, you order at the counter, get a buzzer, and when your food is ready they provide plates and utensils and walk the pizza back to your table with you. There was a torrential downpour about two bites into my pizza, so we quickly moved under the covered patio. They also had live music, which added to the laid-back vibe. I'll definitely be back!

The primary issue was our service. While she was friendly, decent windows of time seemed to pass between her visits. She also did not provide us with utensils/napkins, as my wife requested them from the bar after our meals arrived, nor plates for our shared appetizer items. The food was very good, for the most part, as we continue to enjoy their Baked White Bean Hummus ($14) and the Greek Goddess Salad ($17) is excellent. I also do like their Fries ($3.50), as they are seasoned well with a nice exterior crunch, although it seemed like we had been given the bottom of the basket as a good bit of our order was crumbs. Drinks were OK. My wife wishes they offered a dry cider option, but their A&E Fleeting Youth ($7) consistently tends to be the closest to that offering. While I realize it's summer, I prefer porters and stouts that are on the sweeter side as opposed to coffee-esque. But the only option was their Into the Void, which I thought leaned into a coffee flavor, so I chose their King of Troy ($6.50), which was a decent lager. So I continue at 4 stars, in hopes our next visit will have service with a bit more awareness, fries from the top of the basket, and some of their other beer options that hit the spot in the past.

I always order the Cuban when a new restaurant has one on the menu, and Big Lug's did not disappoint. It was juicy, flavorful, and one of the better Cubans I've had in a while. On my second visit, I went with the blackened cod tacos on corn tortillas (you can also get flour tortillas, and they offer shrimp and breaded fish options). They were fresh, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. Both visits I ordered the spicy garlic cauliflower, and it was outstanding. The homemade blue cheese dressing took it to another level. If you're on the fence about ordering it, don't be--it was one of my favorite things on the menu. The outdoor walk-up bar creates a really cool, laid-back atmosphere, making it a great place to relax whether you're meeting friends or just enjoying a meal by yourself. The staff was friendly, the service was excellent, and both meals came out quickly. I don't usually eat at the same restaurant twice on a trip, but Big Lug earned it. If I'm back in the area, it'll definitely be on my list again.

We sat right in the middle of the main thoroughfare and were completely ignored for at least 15 minutes before we finally flagged someone down. The guy, "H," apologized and said, "Oh, my bad--it's all good." We figured, no big deal, let's move on. We ordered pretty simple food, apps and were then going to put in some entrees once apps arrived. We asked for waters and a water bowl for our pups. He brought two waters--with no straws--and no dog bowl. We assumed he was going to grab the bowl, so we waited... and waited. Then I noticed him at the end of the bar leaning against some boxes, texting. So I finally got up, interrupted him and asked for the dog bowl. His response, "oh my bad." Our appetizers came out, and naturally, we asked for silverware. A few minutes later, I spotted "H" in the corner on his phone again. At that point I was thinking, seriously?! So I got up again, interrupted "H's" text convo and asked for silverware. His response again was, "Oh, my bad." I didn't respond to him I just turned around and went back to my seat. Honestly, the whole experience started feeling more like a self-serve restaurant than table service. It's a chill spot and we weren't being needy whatsoever. We never asked for any refills- we were merely asking for the basics. We wanted to order more food, but by that point we were pretty turned off and decided to just get the check. Then came the final straw: my guy had his license and credit card sitting on the table because he hadn't brought his wallet out for our monon trek. When "H" came back with the checkout thing, without question or hesitation - he grabbed the card and swiped it. We didn't even realize what happened until afterward. Maybe that's standard there, but I've never had a server just take my card without asking. Usually you get a "hey do we want to use this card? Or something to confirm. And of course the tip structure is skewed so the min is 20% unless you want to try to figure out to manually enter in 15% (which most ppl don't -incl my guy), so we left 20% and left irritated and still hungry. "H" didn't seem hungover or anything--he just genuinely seemed like he did not not give a shiiiit. We had to get up three separate times to get things we had already requested: the dog bowl, a couple straws, and silverware. (Basics) And a quick note on the 7-Layer Hoss Dip: don't expect seven layers. It comes in a small thick ceramic bowl and was basically beans, guacamole, a tiny bit of corn and some hard cheese on top. Definitely would not recommend it. Way too "beany" and not worth $16 at all. The southwest rolls were decent- very fried tho. Cheesecake Factory's are better ;) The location and dog-friendly atmosphere are great, with the exception of the homeless camp right at their patio entrance, but unfortunately, the service really took away from the experience. Hopefully this was just an off night, because Big Lug has a lot going for it.
