My 11 year old son and I visited family in Walnut Creek last week. He loves baseball. I read about Bronco Baseball on line and liked the approach focusing on fundamentals through fun and games paired with a low coach:player ratio. My son was tentative, being in a new environment with new kids and staying from 9am-3pm. Every single member of the coaching staff was positive, encouraging, and supportive. Let me start by saying that every single staff member was so GREAT. They were enthusiastic and friendly and got to know every kid by name. My daughter ended up really enjoying her time during the week of summer camp. However, even though the website advertises that it includes softball skills, this is only IF enough girls sign up. So we signed up my daughter and she ended up being like one of two girls in her age bracket in the whole camp. She made the best of it and the coaches were so caring and wonderful that they made sure to include her and champion her and ultimately, she did learn things even if they weren't strictly softball. read more

This is such a wonderful camp! My son participated last year for one week and absolutely loved it so we signed up for two weeks this year. All of the coaches are so wonderful and engage with the kids so well. every morning at drop off, there is so many kids walking in and ever coach remembers my kids name and welcomes him back. my son loves that he can earn baseball cards and loves all the games to make baseball fun! Any kid that loves baseball or sports would love this camp. the biggest plus for a parent is you kid is tired when they get home! read more

My son absolutely loved the camp, and his skills have improved significantly. We received daily email summaries detailing what they learned and what to expect the next day. One day, because of heavy traffic, my husband couldn't pick him up on time. The coach stayed with my son for an extra hour until he could be picked up. We really appreciate the coach's kindness! My kid hates the heat of summer but even a 101 degree day couldn't keep him from camp - his skills and appreciation for the game grew phenomenally throughout the week and he is excited to do it again next summer. My daughter had an amazing time. The coaches created a caring and inclusive environment. The coaches were incredible and kind. Beyond the technical components of the game, the camp emphasized sportsmanship, team building, and overall kindness. Every coach knew her name and took great care of her. The camp counselors thoughtfully engaged with her and often offered softball drills and skills that would translate to her softball needs. By the end of the week my daughter was anticipating next year, asking to sign up for multiple weeks, and really into baseball card collecting. read more

We love Bronco Baseball. My 11 year son has attended a week long session there every year for the past five years. Even though my husband and I are both teachers, (which means we are home over the summer)and my son doesn't need to go to a camp, he begs each year to go to Bronco. This camp is well organized, safe and so much fun. The kids are really engaged and as a parent I feel very safe leaving him there. His baseball skills always improve and he comes away with great lifelong lessons. The counselors are very nice and my son loves earning baseball cards from them. Our boys have been attending BBA for years now (going on year 6 for one and year 2 for the youngest.) BBA is their favorite camp/activity every summer. The coaches are incredibly fun and positive, they teach the fundamentals of baseball, (but also life lessons), and they manage to make playing six hours of baseball in the summer heat a total blast. Our boys usually complain of boredom when they are home, but can't wait to get to Bronco for the day, so not sure what it is, but they love it! It's also great they they move through the age groups and levels with each summer; they hope to work as an assistant coach there someday, to be like the fun coaches that work there every season. read more

Our 7 yo son loved the camp! They do a great job of getting the kids interested in all aspects of the game, from technical baseball skills, playing the game, all the way to baseball trivia and trading baseball cards! The coaches are local athletes and students who really enjoy being around the kids. My son had a ton of fun and we can't wait to send him back next year! read more

Great sports camp! I have nothing but great things to say! My son (8) came home encouraged and pumped up about baseball every day. They teach basic fundamentals and educate the kids about the history of the game, as well as teach them about teamwork and encouraging one another! I was also very impressed with the fact that there was a legit medical professional onsite in the case of an injury. My son stepped on a bee on the last day during the water play time at the end of the day and she (i think she was a doctor) pulled the stinger out and made sure he was okay. He was more than fine, but it made me feel better that he was well taken care of. We will definitely be back next year with both of our boys! read more

We had heard about BBA through several friends who had participated at one time or another. My son had a lot of interest, but little to no baseball experience when he attended one of the week long summer camps so I was nervous as the kids we knew of attending and having a great experience were experienced little leaguers. Day one of the camp, my son came home so pumped up to tell me about the awesome day he had! I was so relieved and so happy to see my son's excitement. My son is in 4th grade and has been going to this camp for 2 years now. Last year he went during the hottest time of the year and LOVED it. He didn't complain at all. My son, who was 8 last summer, loved the camp. The coaches were so engaging and personal (we've done other camps and the coaches were not so). The kids receive baseball cards for knowing baseball fun facts, helping others, trying hard...etc. That was a big deal for all of the kids. This will be our third year attending Bronco Baseball camp. My son asks every summer to attend two weeks of this camp. Great, knowledgeable, and kid friendly instructors along with an extremely safe environment for the kids. My son is 10years old and has enjoyed learning from the older baseball players. My 5 year old son attended this camp last summer and will go again this year. He loved being around the older "baseball guys" that run the camp. Their passion for the game is contagious. They are awesome mentors and really enriched his love of the sport and that's what it's about at this age. It was a positive experience and he did learn some skills and had fun with the trivia too! For the really young ones, I worried that the trivia time seemed a tiny bit too long in the beginning. But he ended up growing more interested in following the sport in the news! read more

BBA is my boys favorite camp! It is well run and the kids learn so much. The coaches are great, they are energized and passionate about baseball. It's a big day for the kids and they make sure they are drinking water and resting in the shade at lunch. This year my oldest went for 3 weeks and still wanted more. The BBA coaches are teaching skills and the kids have so much fun. Ben takes the time each night to send an email summarizing the day, which is much appreciated as it helps ask questions to your kids about the day! Our son loved this camp! I was so impressed with the focus on how to be a good teammate and not just a good ball player. The coaches definitely knew how to interact positively with kids and to motivate them to play hard and do their best. The kids were taught to encourage each other, never use put-downs or negative language, along with great baseball skills. My son came home tired from lots of physical activity, but excited to tell me all about each day. He was disappointed the camp lasted only one week. We will be back next summer for at least a week! I got a little choked up when they played the National Anthem the morning of the last day and all the players and coaches lined up on the baselines with their hats covering their hearts. read more

These guys really get it. My son requested this camp again this year (sign #1 of success) so we were happy to sign up for a second year in a row. What I really love about these guys is that they make it easy for working parents to feel good about sending their child off to camp (sign #2) and here's why: they reward baseball cards to kids who show up early, have fruit or vegetables in their lunch, demonstrate teamwork, or pay attention/look at their coach.
