Cute local bar for the neighborhood that has potential. Service is lacking and the food could be way better. I really tried to like this place but each time I've gone I'm disappointed with the service. I went on the night of the three year anniversary from opening day, wanting to take advantage of the all day happy hour. When I first sat down, the waitress took a while to come. It wasn't crowded compared to how it usually is during a game day. She finally came and took the order for food and drinks. Chicken fingers are nicely seasoned, Mac & Cheese is lacking flavor and the quesadillas are just not good. Once our food came in, we asked for an extra sauce and she disappeared and finally appeared at the end I just asked for the check didn't even wanna bother waiting 20 minutes for another drink. We were looking to order a few more rounds but she was no where to be found. We were so irritated and it clearly showed, that one of the bouncers had to get the bartender to get us our check. I'm guessing this is just a cool spot for Yankee fans during game days. read more

This is a must stop before a Yankees game or anytime. The selection of beers was awesome. They even had more than one cider, which made me happy. We had the sliders, which was interesting because it came on what looked like a really large hot dog roll. Though I've never seen sliders like that, they were tasty with a nice sauce and very juicy meat. We also had the chicken fingers, which again are a little different than the store bought. So I happen to come upon the place, because its a stone throw from my house, one night me looking for a place to have a nice cold beer and some bar food. Living by 161st I didn't want the usual Yankee hangouts, so stumbling upon BDH. I was pleasantly surprised. Not only do they have a bunch of beer, that i'm never going to try, i stick to Coronas, Heinies & 2XX, maybe Stella but what was more surprising was the food, which in my starving haste i forgot to take pics of. The menu is not huge nor extensive but you have good options. Their meatballs!! OMG delicious!! I ALWAYS get their meatballs! Also got their shrimp quesadilla with mushrooms, I believe gouda cheese and something else, cant recall..Ive tried their take on fish and chips, good fries and fried Tilapia...mozz sticks...pretty cool place to hang out...not the usual dive bar, its more upscale...locale hang out that i will def be back to...and next time i will take pics of the food, i promise. read more

We decided to give this bar a try before going into the Yankees game. The whole bar was cashing out when we sat so we dismissed the bartender ignoring us since he was getting slammed. 10 minutes goes by without any acknowledgement or eye contact except for a nod and thank you when my boyfriend pushed an empty glass and napkin towards him while he was clearing off his bar. Maybe he was having a bad day and was super swamped. No worries. Once the rush cleared out we thought we would be getting a drink and a food order in. Another 5 minutes goes by and he's more concerned with clearing off empty glasses then looking up to say hello or I'll be right with you to us and 5 other people that just sat. A manager was walking around talking to tables making sure they were helped. We flagged him down while he was walking by and we're greeted with a smile hello and what can I get for you. We got a drink and beer and a food order in within 1 minute. He grabbed the drinks himself and told the oblivious bartender to ring in our tacos and nachos. 30 minutes later we finished our tacos without silverware the bartender asked if we would like and one napkin a piece. He was extremely busy washing glasses and making sure the tiles on the floor weren't moving to say another word or check on us. We flagged him down again to ask if our nachos were coming and he replied probably. Another 10 minutes we asked for our check. We did receive our beer and drink for free but I would have rather paid for everything in exchange for good service and to not leave hungry. Too bad the manager wasn't our bartender. I give the food 4 stars(the nachos would've probably been delicious) and the service from the bartender a negative 2. The service from the manager was a solid 4. read more

For a bar that shamelessly promotes itself as "keep it local" this place is a joke. Extremely slow selective service is what was in store for my friend and I who are Bronx residents that come from a Customer Service background. The Plucky Bartender sure showed Love to "the regulars". She had us on her "Pay No Mine" List I came to support to the local new business, but will not be coming back. We should have gone to the real local joint right next door. We just thought to give this place a chance. I've never been to place where the the bartender will leave the bar, and do her so-called studying at a table with her feet up, and not checking up on the clients who have been there for the past 3 hours ordering drinks. The Vibe and Energy in this place is Way off in this place. We weren't even offered a food menu. Coming from a Customer Service background, I was appalled by the service we received last night. I now know and understand why the locals resist gentrification. This has added a bit of NYC-style bar scene to the Yankee Stadium area of the Bronx, attracting large crowds whether or not there is a baseball or soccer game! The newly expanded portion is awesome and they always have great beer on tap. Food is OK, a bit pricey, but good to grab before a game or while having a happy hour beverage. There are tables as well as bar seating and the staff are all super nice! The place is decorated awesome for that area, subway tile throughout, and the overall ambiance is great! Stopped by this location for some food/beer before a Yanks game and it was the worst! We waited forever to order our drinks, the servers were NOT knowledgeable at all. It is understandable that people were new, but at least have someone available as a trainer to help customers. The wings came out before our drinks arrived and the order was WRONG! Sad to see this cute place deliver such a disappointing experience. We ultimately went to the stadium and ordered hotdogs for dinner. read more

I love this place. I live in the neighborhood and it's very convenient. Unfortunatly I fear that they prefer to cater to the stadium crowd which makes up a very large amount of their revenue. Usually I have a good experience, but the last three, yes (3) times that I have been here, I just have not enjoyed my visit. I came on a non game day early in the week, and today a rainy Friday, also a non game day. The barkeep Stephanie or Sarah (lil blond chic behind the bar). While she may be visually a plus for some of the male patrons, (which is fine and dandy), but in my humble opinion looks thus not a fine barkeep make. It is only a small portion of service. A pleasant face and good demenor I mean of course. The rest is self explanatory SERVICE and if you can muster the strength with a smile. A pretty face only goes but so far. She lacks a key element of her job...SERVICE. Her barside manner is less than, She is not enthusiastic and even less than knowledgeable about the 20 brews that they have on tap. She is not very personable, and fakes her way through for sake of securing gratuity. The establishment itself is nice. The food is pub fare with a Dominican twist. Pulled pork sliders and the draft house burger with maduros and pulled pork, Delicioso!! Maybe I'm bougoui, or have just worked in the service industry too long that I expect my drink and dining experiences to be...... enjoyable and worth it. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a good variety of draft beers and decent pub fare. Don't go expecting 2 star service, because you won't get it. Nor will you get a genuine barkeep interested in enhancing your experience enticing you to return. What you will get are some amazing pork sliders and their signature draft house burger with maduros and pulled pork. I will continue to patronize the establishment. It is a neighborhood spot. I hope that they understand that the stadium crowd is only a portion of the year the basball season is short. And the rest of the year the neighborhood supports. read more

After a long day at work my coworkers and I decided to check this spot out (right by Yankee Stadium). The music was great and the vibes were pretty good in there as well. The staff was nice and attentive. It got pretty busy people started to fill the place up (the place isn't too big so it won't take much to get this place packed). My only complaint is that we kept getting brief whiffs of vomit. I didn't see any vomit inside but maybe someone threw up and they didn't clean it up properly..not sure. The drinks were pretty good and the prices were decent as well. I would definitely return. Also the Cigar Bar next door is owned by the same owner so they allow you to take beers next door with you if you want. read more

I usually do not write reviews but I felt compelled to review this establishment because of my most recent experience. I've been a couple of times, while generally a nice setting, I feel that as a fairly new establishment, they need to be more consistent with their closing time. Most recently, I went at 1am, as I was in the  area with some friends and they were closed and that wasn't the first time.  Their website and reviews state that their closing time is 2AM.  I've been there on other days and they are never open passed 1:30am.  To me this means, even if I had gotten there at 1am, I may have been turned away or just gotten there in time for last call.  I am big believer in providing business to thriving establishments to areas that need more businesses and this is just disappointing.  For this reason, I am giving this place 2 stars.    If you want to charge what your charging AND become a staple to a community that needs businesses like yours, don't false advertise and close because business is slow. Businesses build clientele when they show consistency and close at the time they say they are going to close. Stay open at the time your website says and maybe you will get more business. read more

My first time here was a few weeks ago on a Saturday. Super fun the food very delicious, tasty and good portion size. I didn't have beer I had whiskey nothing too special. The waiter was great, attentive and checked in regularly. It's a small spot but I like how crowded it got it's a bar so the chatter, laughter and drinking very enjoyable. I went again on a Wednesday. I had the appetizer plates very good and sampled the beers. I had the Yonkers Vienna lager- delicious I enjoyed it very much . The place was crowded but I asked for assistance and was seated right away. Definitely a chill spot lots of fun. read more

I planned my jobs holiday party here and it was great. They were easy to communicate with, responding to my request promptly and texting back and forth with me when I had questions. We ordered the wings, Mac n cheese, and mushroom croquets and they even made spring rolls for the vegans in the group. The space was perfect for close to 45 people and we even had our own bathroom separate from the general patrons. We ended up not having the space to ourselves because we wanted to offer our guest the flexibility of pay as you go drinks instead of making everyone buy an unlimited drink ticket which had us have one other party in the room that was there for only a small part of the time. First and foremost let me give a shout to my waitress for the night "Jasmine" very helpful when it came to picking the strongest draft beer and shots; and she was attentive and not pushy or annoying. Food was ok ambiance was nice too, beer from Belgium was strong and smooth. Now me and my brothers were good until the bill came and I saw 20% gratuity added, now I don't know about ya but I never like when a merchant takes the 'tipping power" away from me. It should always be up to the patron if they want to leave a tip and how much they are willing to tip not ever the establishments' decision. It was only me and my two brothers it wasn't like it was a party of five or eight for them to charge 20% Probably won't be back just based on that. read more

Ive finally come around to visiting this place as it is walking distance to my house and I have been excited to try it. The Chipotle Maple wings are some of the best I ever had. The coconut mojito was also excellent as well as the passion fruit mojito. 3 of those babies and I was out for the count. Host Massiel was excellent and very patient. Also met with Kevin the manager who was courteous enough to sit with us and chat for a bit. Extremely welcoming environment. I'm so excited that the bronx is getting more draft beer spots, its a world everyone from all parts should be introduced to. The food is amazing, not just basic bar food it's well made and well seasoned using quality product. The beer selection is great and getting all this so close to home wasn't possible before so it's really exciting. They always have the best games playing on the TV. As a local I've been dying for something like Drafthouse so trust me when I say I was more than excited when this spot opened up. The food is typical bar food with a twist. They have creative options and really try to spruce up the usual burgers and fries found in every bar. The service is awesome and I knew I would use this venue for my private events. I ended up hosting my 30th birthday brunch here and the staff were nothing short of amazing. Jasmine helped with the planning every step of the way and I was able to use their private room for my 30 guests. All of my guests raved about how good the food was and how large the portions were. I'm just grateful that I don't have to venture into Manhattan for this sort of service and establishment! read more

I wanted to love this place and couldn't ! :( Being a neighborhood local I went here last night after the Yankee game . This place has a nice decor and lively music however the bartender wasn't really all too friendly in my opinion. I met someone here and she was in the back seated at the bar . Upon arrival the bartender did ask if I wanted to order . I wanted a Martini and asked about the glass policy I was told about before arrival and she informed me that they don't give out glass on game days . The game was over and being a resident of the neighborhood this felt unwarming yet I understood the policy. She also informed us that the kitchen was closed although I seen people being brought food . She never offered a drink menu or anything . I ordered 2 shots which were $8 each to shake the staleness of the service off . I usually frequent The upper west side or Harlem and this type or distance service while sitting directly at a empty bar was unusual ( we were on the 2 nd side ) She wasn't outright rude , she just had poor service skills which led me to believe she was new . Approximately 40 minutes later we moved to a seat by the windows in which a server asked us would we like to order food . The bartender told us that the kitchen was closed and being that was the reason I went here was for local food and drinks it's through me off . I wanted to try this place out since I discovered it was owned by someone native to the community 1 week ago ! The server seemed friendly and took our order with a smile . My order came ( beer battered tacos ) and it wasn't what I ordered . I received shrimp in a spicy sweet sauce with pepper seasoning .Before I could ask what is this the server walked away . I will say that when I first arrived side 1 was semi packed . Side 2 not so much . Too me that's no excuse for mediocre service however . It's unfortunate that as a local who lives in this community I felt that this place was just to cater to those outside the neighborhood.. ie , Yankee game goers I decided not to say anything once she passed by about 10 minutes later because she mentioned earlier that the kitchen was closing soon Because I cannot tolerate spicy food I just sat my entire order to the side . The flavored margarita was good and The yuca fries and dressing were phenomenal . I'll give this place another try on a NON GAME DAY to see if there is a different vibe ! We've been eyeing this place for about a month since we saw there was a craft beer place coming in. There are plenty of bars in the area, but mostly the kind of places you'd get a tallboy of PBR or Coors at before a Yankees game. We finally got to come in today for the soft opening and it was really nice. They did a great job with the space. Lots of natural light, huge windows out front that open up, and nice tiling on the walls. (+1 for coat hooks under the tables.) There were maybe a dozen taps running at the soft opening, but they have room for as many as twenty. They were all NY beers, but it sounds like they were going to switch them out frequently. Most beers run $7-8. Whoever did their beer list did a great job. Ithaca, Southern Tier, Ommegang, Bronx, Chelsea, etc. They also have wine on tap if that's your thing. The kitchen isn't open yet, so I can't comment on that. Friendly service. Got to talk to the owner who was nice. In short, a nice place to have a good beer and hang out. Glad this place is in the neighborhood! Edit: Upgraded to five stars because they added a really good happy hour. Dreams do come true. read more

Since my July experience, I've been back to the Bronx Draft House a couple of times. Things have drastically improved! They got new menus, the food is delicious and the service is for the most part good. I visit about once a week now. Pretty grateful to have this spot by me. read more
