My boyfriend and I stopped by for happy hour and left already planning our next visit -- that says it all. The outdoor seating is a real highlight. The awning keeps you shaded from the sun while you enjoy the open air, which made for a really relaxed and enjoyable afternoon. Cold beer, great bar food, and a laid back vibe -- hard to beat. We're coming back for an MMA fight night and possibly Cinco de Mayo. This place has the right energy for both. Highly recommend checking out happy hour if you haven't already. read more

Such a chill place. Visited after a visit to the cloisters. The vibe is local but slightly fancy :) we sat for lunch and had great service - not rushed, cordial and friendly. The beers are great - even on a freezing day. We had the grilled cheese w tomato basil soup and the impossible burger. Maybe the impossible burger needed some more accoutrements (onions, pickles, etc) but otherwise everything was just right. read more

Best bar food I've had in ages. I went for Cinco de Mayo and I was extremely impressed by not only the service (it was super busy) but by the delicious food. Idk who the chef is back there but Gordon Ramsey needs to give them a call. It's my new favorite haunt and I'll be back to check out karaoke night and happy hour. read more

This place gets worse and worse. Why is it at 2pm on a Sunday when families are there to eat the music is louder Than music in a club. I went there today ready to have brunch but couldn't even hear myself order. They need to figure out who they are. I thought I was in inwood bar and grill. This pub has more Spanish music and Bachata than any other Spanish place. The place is loud and disorganized. The food leaves alot to be desired. The bartenders change all the time so order something simple. So sad this place has lost it identify. Never again. read more

This is a great place to have lunch or dinner if you're visiting the Met Cloisters. I had the Citrus & Kale Salad with panko chicken -- really fresh and delicious. My friend had a burger and fries, also really good. I ordered the No-Jito mocktail and it was so light and refreshing on a hot day. Plus the wait staff here is really thoughtful and gracious. Just a really nice place to eat, overall. We will be back. read more

On a slow snowy night you would think the service would be better. Had a waitress Meg who couldn't be any more inattentive. She took our drink orders & disappeared for almost 15 minutes. Smoking a cigarette outside of course. Was there for 25 minutes before my order was taken & to make matters worse the food was awful. Fries came out completely burned & the cheeseburger came out without cheese. Sent the order back just to wait an additional 15 minutes for subpar food. The waitress Meg had a terrible attitude. The place was loud & dirty. Will not be back. read more

Cool old pub vibe, slow service to start, but the staff came around quickly and checked in often. The kitchen messed up 2 of our 3 burgers, but we were in a hurry so didn't have them remake it. Fries were good, but needed salt. Coke tasted like Pepsi and was flat. Our server was so nice, so I give the place two stars, but wouldn't come back next time I visit the cloisters read more

l go here alot, but just hated tonight's experience .. The host was extremely nice, but l waited forever for my food, which was just ok. The waitress however was one of the rudest l've ever experienced. When l asked for cutlery and napkins, she nastily and aggressively said 'Ok, but l've only got two hands' and walked away, when l asked for pickles she said 'can you tell me now what else you want?' .. l feel she was racist, and very hateful. Bar food, but good bar food. The fish tacos are my favorite item on the menu. 10/10 Great DJ plays a variety of new music and throwback classics. Very loud though. Impossible to hold a conversation. 9.5/10 Drinks were a little weak. 7.5-8.0/10 All in all, a nice place to grab a bite and enjoy some music with friends. read more

Came here to try the Sunday Brunch. So nice to have a local brunch place. I had waffles and fried chicken breast. Waffles were fine with just the right amount of syrup. The other party member had the American Breakfast. Both were good. service was great and really enjoyed being able to eat outside. The Virgin Maria was a bit spicy for my taste. Mimosa was a little heavy on the champagne. Both were extras so you didn't have to drink if you don't want to. Outside only issue is that you are right over the subway. So if the train stops underneath you can hear the train engine noise. But this IS NYC. read more

The chicken sandwich was cold, with a few pickle chips, quite unappetizing; the sweet potato french fries were also cold and tasteless; the so-called salad was a huge batch of wilted lettuces with two (count 'em, two) cherry tomatoes sliced in half, with strong unappetizing salad dressing on the side. Since my walk home with this takeout meal was only one block, the fact that both sandwich and fries were cold indicates the food had been sitting around. Nothing tasted good. read more

Experience was relaxing, though service was kinda lacking at times but mainly I think due to low staffing - so not completely their fault. Standard foods. I came for brunch. Had biscuit and gravy. Was meh. Not enough gravy so just very biscuit-y and kinda dry at that. But it's hard to find biscuits and gravy in NYC, so I'll give somewhat of a pass. I think come more for the setting than anything. Nice outdoor seating and tables were big and comfortable (some outdoor seating can feel kinda rickety). Came post Cloisters so a nice place to get a meal, esp if you have a larger group and you just wanna grub. read more

Stopped by while looking for a brunch spot. We got there 20 mins before brunch specials were ending and we were told that the brunch menu was no longer available because they were switching to the lunch menu. Found that to be terrible customer service. However we were quite hungry and decided to just order from the regular menu. Food was mediocre noting to rave about and probably won't return. read more

No way, I would come back here ever again. We needed a place to have some drinks while we waited for a another brunch venue to open. First of all the musty smell alone was a turn off. Cluttered decor, dirty, horrible punk rock or whatever type of head banging music was playing. Simply not our vibe at all!! Old, musty, marlboro smelling old men sitting at the bar on a Sunday afternoon and a bartender with a look of apathy on her face. As if the smell and vibe were not bad enough, the weak, drinks were overpriced! Early Sunday afternoon at a dive like that should have brunch drink specials! If you need a relatively quiet place to grab a burger and a beer I suppose this place can work for many. But if you are looking for good music, upbeat vibes, and fairly priced cocktails this was certainly not the place for us. read more

I have been coming to tryin for the last 5 years. I love the vibe and the dim lighting. The staff is always friendly and always checking on you but not in the annoying way. I looove the jalapeño Margarita and the variety of IPAs they sell. Today I had the fish Po Boy. It was huge and had a nice crispy texture. I do think it needed more spicy tar tar sauce but that's just my preference. The regular and sweet potato fries are soooooo delicious read more

Tucked into a corner of cozy Inwood, this spacious neighborhood pub is the ideal place to grab a brew or meal after a day spent at the epoynmous park or the Met's famous Cloisters, which is how some companions and I wound up here one dark November afternoon. The happy hour prices could not be beat: $4 Naraggansett! Baby, you can FEEL the Rhode Island ocean breeze at "Tyrone's"! The food teetered from OK to good: our appetizers were so-so; my entrée, the ragu, excellent. Our only concern was previous reviewers' complaints about the noise. As we were there pretty early, we did not share these, though they were playing Millennial bangers pretty darn loud for 4:30 p.m. Thus, when the bar is full, I imagine there's quite a din. read more

Honestly, I am being generous with this rating. I will start with the space. I enjoyed the vibe of the place, live DJ, low lighting, and just friendly people in the space in general. I am thinking this is a place I could build relationships with and become a regular - I have to say the DJ is amazing he played the cuts from back in the day and that was appreciated. Vegans and GF folx this is a place to go!! I was able to get vegan buffalo wings and a vegan burger with a GF bun and it didn't rob my pockets thankfully. It also tasted amazing! The food and the drinks saved this place and honestly is forcing me to come back. I appreciated their winter menu for their drinks and I also appreciated having GF an mocktail options on their menu. Menu was pretty extensive so wanting to see if everything is as good as my meal. The service was lackluster - I mean our waiter forgot about us for a long time. He didnt refill our waters at all and just was not friendly. I hope the next time I come I have a better experience with someone else. So all in all, if you are looking for something lowkey, good drinks and good food with friends or alone this is prolly my top 5 on dyckman. read more

Came here after we realized the Cafe at the Cloister was closed. It's just down the hill in Inwood. Service was spotty but they make a damn good burger. Since my hubby has mastered smash burgers, I haven't liked thicker burgers but these were delicious. Mine came with onions, bacon and smoked Gouda. A generous serving of sweet potato fries accompanied it. Had a nice brunch menu, as well. read more

I've been coming here for over 4 years. This is my favorite spot in Dyckman/ Inwood area. They have great appetizers and entrees. The bartenders are awesome and always provide excellent service. Manager is also very friendly. I highly recommend coming here. The wings are so yummy. One of the best!! For entrees I usually go for the chipotle chicken with fries but I have pretty much tried everything on the menu from the tacos to the fish and chips and steak everything is all tasty. They also have happy hour with a great selection of beer and cocktails. They have high/low tables & the bar area. This place is great for large groups and a date night. I would recommend checking out the website or their instagram page for special events always happening. I Will definitely continue coming here. read more

All of our burgers and sandwiches have the option to substitute for a gluten free bun. Our salads, shrimp tacos, fish and chips, salmon entree, nachos are all gluten free. We also have two brothers brewery gluten free beer.

They were offering the Restaurant Week menu, so we decided to take advantage of that. This included a drink, along with 3 courses, consisting of Appetizer, Entree, and Dessert. For the drink, I selected the Lazy River and only non alcoholic option, which consisted of Coconut, pistachio, mint, rosewater, lime, as well as seltzer. This was a bubbly, refreshing drink that was strong in Coconut and Lime. I had the Fried Calzone with sausage, tomato, mozzarella, and pecorino as the appetizer. This was 2 huge beautifully made Calzones, however there was barely any sausage. It was full of thick, melty cheese and well seasoned tomato sauce. The outer shell was wonderfully crispy. I just really expected and wanted to taste Sausage, so I was disappointed. I tried my friend's Buttermilk Fried Chicken, and I'm usually not that impressed by chicken, but I enjoyed this. The Fried Chicken was satisfyingly crunchy, tender, and flavorful. My entree was The Garrison Burger, which was a beef burger with raclette, confit onions, burger sauce, gem lettuce, and french fries. This was just okay. The meat was cooked well, but a little on the bland and dry side. The cheese with onion and sauce was a nice addition. Fries were thick, delightfully crispy with great potato taste. Dessert was Bread Pudding with sour cherries and buttermilk caramel. This was not a traditional Bread Pudding for me, but I did enjoy the rich, creamy caramel, as well as the cherries, which are my favorite fruit! I found the Bread Pudding itself to be thick, dense, and sweet from the caramel sauce. Service was pretty good. I wasn't that impressed by the food, but next time I would like to try the Piggyback Dates appetizer made out of dates wrapped in bacon with cheese inside.
