My boyfriend and I stopped by for happy hour and left already planning our next visit -- that says it all. The outdoor seating is a real highlight. Such a chill place. Visited after a visit to the cloisters. The vibe is local but slightly fancy :) we sat for lunch and had great service - not rushed, cordial and friendly. The beers are great - even on a freezing day. We had the grilled cheese w tomato basil soup and the impossible burger. Best bar food I've had in ages. I went for Cinco de Mayo and I was extremely impressed by not only the service (it was super busy) but by the delicious food. Idk who the chef is back there but Gordon Ramsey needs to give them a call. It's my new favorite haunt and I'll be back to check out karaoke night and happy hour. read more

This place gets worse and worse. Why is it at 2pm on a Sunday when families are there to eat the music is louder Than music in a club. I went there today ready to have brunch but couldn't even hear myself order. They need to figure out who they are. I thought I was in inwood bar and grill. This pub has more Spanish music and Bachata than any other Spanish place. The place is loud and disorganized. The food leaves alot to be desired. This is a great place to have lunch or dinner if you're visiting the Met Cloisters. I had the Citrus & Kale Salad with panko chicken -- really fresh and delicious. My friend had a burger and fries, also really good. I ordered the No-Jito mocktail and it was so light and refreshing on a hot day. Plus the wait staff here is really thoughtful and gracious. On a slow snowy night you would think the service would be better. Had a waitress Meg who couldn't be any more inattentive. She took our drink orders & disappeared for almost 15 minutes. Smoking a cigarette outside of course. Was there for 25 minutes before my order was taken & to make matters worse the food was awful. Was meh. Not enough gravy so just very biscuit-y and kinda dry at that. But it's hard to find biscuits and gravy in NYC, so I'll give somewhat of a pass. Came here to try the Sunday Brunch. So nice to have a local brunch place. I had waffles and fried chicken breast. Waffles were fine with just the right amount of syrup. The other party member had the American Breakfast. Both were good. service was great and really enjoyed being able to eat outside. The Virgin Maria was a bit spicy for my taste. Mimosa was a little heavy on the champagne. Both were extras so you didn't have to drink if you don't want to. Outside only issue is that you are right over the subway. So if the train stops underneath you can hear the train engine noise. But this IS NYC. read more

The chicken sandwich was cold, with a few pickle chips, quite unappetizing; the sweet potato french fries were also cold and tasteless; the so-called salad was a huge batch of wilted lettuces with two (count 'em, two) cherry tomatoes sliced in half, with strong unappetizing salad dressing on the side. No way, I would come back here ever again. We needed a place to have some drinks while we waited for a another brunch venue to open. First of all the musty smell alone was a turn off. Cluttered decor, dirty, horrible punk rock or whatever type of head banging music was playing. Simply not our vibe at all!! Old, musty, marlboro smelling old men sitting at the bar on a Sunday afternoon and a bartender with a look of apathy on her face. As if the smell and vibe were not bad enough, the weak, drinks were overpriced! Early Sunday afternoon at a dive like that should have brunch drink specials! If you need a relatively quiet place to grab a burger and a beer I suppose this place can work for many. I have been coming to tryin for the last 5 years. I love the vibe and the dim lighting. The staff is always friendly and always checking on you but not in the annoying way. I looove the jalapeño Margarita and the variety of IPAs they sell. Today I had the fish Po Boy. It was huge and had a nice crispy texture. Stopped by while looking for a brunch spot. We got there 20 mins before brunch specials were ending and we were told that the brunch menu was no longer available because they were switching to the lunch menu. Found that to be terrible customer service. However we were quite hungry and decided to just order from the regular menu. Food was mediocre noting to rave about and probably won't return. read more

The happy hour prices could not be beat: $4 Naraggansett! Baby, you can FEEL the Rhode Island ocean breeze at "Tyrone's"! The food teetered from OK to good: our appetizers were so-so; my entrée, the ragu, excellent. Our only concern was previous reviewers' complaints about the noise. Honestly, I am being generous with this rating. I will start with the space. I enjoyed the vibe of the place, live DJ, low lighting, and just friendly people in the space in general. I am thinking this is a place I could build relationships with and become a regular - I have to say the DJ is amazing he played the cuts from back in the day and that was appreciated. Vegans and GF folx this is a place to go!! I was able to get vegan buffalo wings and a vegan burger with a GF bun and it didn't rob my pockets thankfully. It also tasted amazing! The food and the drinks saved this place and honestly is forcing me to come back. I appreciated their winter menu for their drinks and I also appreciated having GF an mocktail options on their menu. Menu was pretty extensive so wanting to see if everything is as good as my meal. The service was lackluster - I mean our waiter forgot about us for a long time. He didnt refill our waters at all and just was not friendly. I hope the next time I come I have a better experience with someone else. Came here after we realized the Cafe at the Cloister was closed. It's just down the hill in Inwood. Service was spotty but they make a damn good burger. Since my hubby has mastered smash burgers, I haven't liked thicker burgers but these were delicious. Mine came with onions, bacon and smoked Gouda. I've been coming here for over 4 years. This is my favorite spot in Dyckman/ Inwood area. They have great appetizers and entrees. The bartenders are awesome and always provide excellent service. Manager is also very friendly. I highly recommend coming here. The wings are so yummy. One of the best!! For entrees I usually go for the chipotle chicken with fries but I have pretty much tried everything on the menu from the tacos to the fish and chips and steak everything is all tasty. They also have happy hour with a great selection of beer and cocktails. They have high/low tables & the bar area. This place is great for large groups and a date night. Came here on a Sunday afternoon after running the Bronx 10 Mile with some of my friends. The staff was very friendly and attentive throughout. I tried the buffalo wings with blue cheese, which were delicious. We ordered lime margaritas and they were pretty good and strong, just a bit too sweet. I eventually got the munchies again once we started drinking so I went with the mac n' cheese with chicken. It was OK--I've had much better, to say the least. The best part was the dessert--we shared the skillet bourbon bread pudding with vanilla ice cream; it was AMAZING! I definitely recommend trying it if you have a sweet tooth. They were having a drag show at the time as well which was super fun! This was a great touch to the already great vibe at TPH. I'd definitely come back for brunch or a random evening with friends.
