But I didn't let my self-doubt talk me out of it. Chris and David were incredibly supportive and answered any questions I had prior to class; they set me up with a mat, blocks, and blankets. As the class began, I followed along much better than I anticipated. With Chrissy's help, I was able to do things I didn't even know I was capable of. I felt so good at the end of this class. I intend to go back for more classes as soon as my schedule permits. This studio can accommodate the newest of beginners to those with years of practice. Lisa (owner) was super friendly and made me feel welcome. BUT. I was very let down by the class itself. I was one of the first people in and I set myself up towards the front left corner of the room. I thought there would be around 10-12 people taking the class as the room isn't that big but boy was I wrong. By the time the class was starting I was sardine packed into the wall- one false move and I was taking someone's eye out. Idk if it's just her trying to make as much money as possible but girl maybe have a cut-off? I did not enjoy my experience AT ALL. I may as well have set my money on fire. Side note: I was disappointed that the demographic is a little older than I was hoping for and so I was even more disappointed when I was given a physical therapy resistance band. The asanas were way too easy yet complicated by the lack of space to actually stretch. I lived in Santa Monica before and my yoga practice there was just as aesthetically pleasing as this one but I always had 6' of personal space around me to freely move and stay inside my body. I am extremely late writing this review but I have finally settled into my new routine and find another Yoga practice but my disappointment came right back so I just had to get it out.

Well..classes at Nueva Alma are so diverse and Erica (the owner of the studio) is hands on and has provided me and many students a yoga sanctuary. I've taken workshops, hung in poses on the only Iyengar Wall in Westchester, Chair Yoga where you learn how to properly align in poses you would normally do on the mat and boy you do feel a major difference...a must class for beginners. It's an all purpose Yoga and Wellness studio that is an asset to anyone wanting to take their first class or for the more experienced yogi...Namaste Update 10/9/18 It is now 8 months since I joined Nueva Alma and it has transformed my mind, body and soul...My Alma..Cliche but true..So much so that I am now doing my 200hr Teacher Training here. At Nueva Alma you come as you are...first timer...or not..size 2 or size 22...raven haired or a ginger with dreads...Roman Catholic or a Buddhist...in fact..one of my major mental kinks was being afraid of fitting in..of feeling awkward if I failed at a pose..being judged. Both provide some intensity beyond the typical stretching of other yoga classes. Plenty of space in studio and lockers to drop off your stuff during class.
