I've been getting airbrush tans for over 20 years in NY and Miami and Heike is the best! She knows everything there is to know about airbrush tanning and it's clear she's put a ton of thought and care into making the experience as comfortable as possible and ensuring you walk out with a beautiful tan that lasts for a full week. I've visited her in February and July and the results were great both times. I'm super fair and the tan she creates looks very natural. Went for a 3:15p appointment made on classpass. I sat in the lobby for almost 45 minutes without seeing any employees. By 3:25p I called the salon and was told they did not have my appointment and I could come back at 4p. I contacted classpass and they said the appointment had processed over to BB&S, so there should be no issue. I still had not seen an actual employee and was made to feel it was my fault my appointment had been lost by them. It's unfortunate because I have been a loyal customer for years and have recommend several friends. Will be taking my business to Sugared + Bronzed. read more

Great overall experience here. Came in for a custom airbrush tan. Heike's salon is clean and she took extra measures to make sure everything is sanitary. My tan turned out even and with just the right amount of glow. I did the extra hydration step and that seems to have held it even better. Highly recommend! read more

Disclaimer- I never had a spray tan before. This was my first time getting an airbrush so my complaints maybe very normal... I just don't know. Overall I felt the tan was very uneven. I have spots on my chest as well as sides that are not even. I didn't realize the tan would automatically come off EVERYWHERE. I asked if it would run and I was told no. 4 hours later Im still leaving brown all over everything and everywhere. I did not realize it would stain my clothes. Place seemed to be fast and have back to back appointments, I think it was rushed and I did not dry enough. Overall I wish I was given the heads up about bleeding all over and wish it was done evenly. I changed my review from 3 stars to 2 on 6/3. I emailed this place and I believe the owner responded to me saying: You have to let it develop and take a shower after 10+ hours You will see your tan evens out. Some areas develop a bit slower but after 48 hour it should be all even Please let us s know if you have any other concerns you can always see us today for an consultation I am now on vacation and nothing has gotten better two days later. My fingers and toes are dark and it looks like I applied self tanner myself. I have marks all around my chest that are uneven. The back of my legs are darker then the front, etc. Overall I am super disappointed. The person I had do mine advised they were new there and perhaps that is the situation. I called to schedule an appointment at approximately 11:35 a.m. this morning, Sept. 1, 2017. The woman on the phone said she had an appointment available on the date and time requested and when I advised the woman on the phone that I had a Groupon she indicated that I had used a Groupon before and I could not use on this time. I advised her that it did not say that anywhere on the Groupon and she insisted she was right. She said she looked up the Groupon "Iike a normal person" and saw the fine print. I asked for her name multiple times and she refused to give it to me, saying that I was yelling at her and she hung up on me. I called back and simply asked to speak to the manager and she indicated that, "I could call back in 10 minutes", I asked her to please put a manager on the phone, and she put me on hold and then proceeded to check if I was still holding and eventually hung up. This kind of customer service is absolutely unacceptable! For your information the Groupon App does not say anything under "Fine Print", as you can see attached and it is not clickable. So instead of your receptionist being so concerned about telling me I am wrong, she would have learned that. read more

I came here twice this summer to try out the custom Go Airbrush tan (sun-kissed glow). This was my first time trying a spray tan and I'm super happy with the results on both occasions. Heike is wonderful, makes you feel comfortable while you stand naked, and she answered all my questions about spray tanning and how to best preserve the tan as it fades. I ended up paying $10 extra for the moisturizing spray and purchased the body wash/exfoliating bottle to help my tan fade properly. Although these are extras, I think they are a MUST buy! No awkward streaking or blotchyness which was what I feared with spray tanning. Best of all, people thought that this was a natural tan! AMAZING! Tips: Shave/wax/exfoliate the day or night before your tan. Bring loose black, cotton clothing to wear when you leave. Don't sweat- this is key- keep yourself cool and calm. Wait until the next morning to shower and you will be a glowing goddess! Moisturize after every shower. My tan lasted almost 12 days. Highly recommend this place and Heike. I will definitely return when I need a tan for a special occasion. read more

Wow - what a fantastic first experience! I just moved from Dallas and needed to find a spray tan spot ahead of a trip to Miami. Heike was welcoming as can be and the process was very comfortable - she used some kind of nozzle fan to keep me warm and dry the entire time, so I had no chills or goosebumps! She also powdered areas like my hands, underarms and neck to avoid splotchiness. In and out in about 20 min. The color was even - subtle glow and very natural - just what I wanted. Color stayed vibrant for about five days and is now fading off naturally. This will be my go-to spray tan spot for sure! read more

I love coming here to tan! The facilities are clean, I never have to wait to use a tanning machine, and the staff are super friendly. Background: I have spent many years getting Mystic Tans, only to come out looking like an umpa lumpa. I am extremely pale, and tanning in a bed burns my skin, so I had given up on ever being tan. When I found VersaSpa, I finally got that bronze tan and glow that I have never been able to achieve in tanning beds or with Mystic Spa. You can customize the darkness setting and whether you want it to go on clear or bronze. Eight hours later, I have a natural looking tan without streaks or the orange undertones. Bronze Boutique and Spa is the only place in the Manhattan area where I found both the VersaSpa and VersaSpa Pro at a reasonable price! Each tan costs $35 dollars, but I purchased a package of 20 for $20 a tan. They also give a 20 percent discount to first time customers. read more

I just went to Bronze Boutique for a body scrub and full body massage. Polina did an amazing job. She was very friendly, eager to make me comfortable, and had a great technique! I left feeling extremely relaxed and the body scrub itself was different than others I've had. It was more like a body "polish" - leaving my skin super soft and smooth. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the space itself. Everything was very clean and I understand the space limitations in NYC, but the place could use a bit of a face lift. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spa and will likely go back and try them for spray tans and lashes. read more

Unprofessional customer service! Obnoxious receptionist who cuts you off and does not belong in a service business at all. They treat the customer like a cash cow to be milked for $. They obnoxiously refused to work with me to change the appointment time, with advance notice on my part, proceeding to charge the full cost of the service. In advance. What they need is a crash course in how to refrain from highway robbery along with how to sound less satisfied when proudly announcing that there is nothing you can do about it - they took your $. But guess what: there is! Spreading the word about their practices and logging in a BBB complaint is in this case was well worth the time. Avoid! Bronze Boutique is the Greatest Spa ever. The new location is smaller than the old place.."Sunpoint Spa". I've been a Customer for about 5 or 6 years, and couldn't be happier with the Services. The Staff is always friendly, and Knowledgeable. Heike, the Owner, has impressed me from day one. She goes out of her way to answer any questions you may have regarding Tanning, and I always ask lots of questions. The Salon is super clean, and I can't say enough good things about this place. As someone who VERY RARELY tans (and is also super pale), I've really enjoyed the several times i've come here for a spray tan. I do the VersaSpa Pro booth, and get the primer/moisturizer and the light-medium (level 2). As long as you follow the pre-tan and post-tan directions, I find this tan to be super natural and even. One time I forgot to use the blending cream on my hands and feet and got some weird lines, but that was my own fault. Now I'm careful to make sure I use the blending cream and take off all my makeup and jewelry and wait the full 4-6 hours until I shower. The place is clean and modern, and the owner is always very nice and accommodating. read more

I've gone to other places in the city. Never again. I've gotten airbrush spray tans by Heike about a dozen times now and I keep coming back, because my skin look flawless. No streaks, no orange tint. I'm super fair skinned so I was always hesitant to get a spray tan because I've seen them look blotchy on people. I booked the body exfoliating scrub and spray tan with Heika. She made me feel super comfortable and it was such a nice experience. I was worried it would be too dark of a shade. But Heika knows her business. The color is PERFECT!!! So even and natural looking! The evening I got it done it was raining so I was wearing rain boots. And the boots rubbed the solution off on a bit of my leg area. I tried a spray tan here a few years ago and liked it but I went last night and I got a level 2 spray tan- I am not tan AT ALL and am completely blotchy, it looks like I am a leopard and I have a wedding tomorrow that I specifically got this tan for so I'll look ridiculous... I followed all instructions, long sleeves to prevent smudging while sleeping, blending cream before getting into the booth, and showered 14 hours afterwards. AND paid extra for a moisturizing cream that's supposed to help...Here are photos of skin and I wish I could get a refund for the $41 mess... read more

Get a call two hours later saying my appointment is cancelled because my voucher isn't valid all of the sudden as there's nothing she can do about it. She was very friendly, explained the whole process well, and made me feel very comfortable! They offer multiple options, including an express that washes off in 2-4 hours (for an extra cost) which is what I opted for. i've never had a spray tan prior to coming here and i don't intend to go anywhere else. there's only so many people you don't mind standing naked in front of. i visit when i want to have color in preparation for an event and can't justify the expense for other reasons (it's really my wallet not me). that being said, if you follow their instructions, there's no reason why you can't get 12 days or so. below are some tips that have helped me extend mine. additionally, consider signing up for their emails. there's frequently a promotion. 1. come in wearing loose, cotton clothing 2. don't shower the night of your tan 3. sleep in cotton. long sleeves, long pants 4. don't take hot, long showers 5. moisturize two times per day read more

Absolutely wonderful customer service. I have gone a couple times a year for years now, even before it was called bronze boutique. This time, I was running late - rather than turning me away, they told me to come as soon as I could and that we would make it work! Because I was so late I missed my custom airbrush appt but then they put me in the Vespa pro booth- it was awesome!!!!! Worked so well- I added the moisturizer to the finish. I also made sure to take the baby wipes and wipe the inside of my hands after it was over. But the best part was how comforting and accommodating they were. I will never go anywhere else! First off i got a Versa spa (which is where a machine spray tans you). My spray tan looks "eh" today. Not bad. Not great. Def not what I've had done in the past. It got my upper body but my legs are still light. ID GIVE THIS PLACE A HECCKKKKKKK NO!!! What was odd, unprofessional and unpleasant ... When I arrived a girl at the front desk was sub par. She was "nice", pretty but pushy. You know when you can tell someone is working looking for any way to charge you extra or get you to pay more? That is what it felt like with her. So the sub par is more how she approached the appointment BY telling me HOW MUCH I NEED TO TIP HER!!! That is just weird. End of story. I am happy to tip. I usually tip on anything that deserves a tip but I've never had to tip a front desk girl for a booth to spray tan me... ever. And... What I don't appreciate is being told that I need to tip "x amount" for a machine to spray me!!! Not a human. First off I find it unprofessional to ask for a tip. Secondly you weren't providing a service - I paid for a machine to spray tan me. I keep repeating myself because it blows my mind that people can run a business leaving customers awkward. I've had MANY spray tans AND NEVER, ever, ever have I been asked to tip when a machine sprays me. Not only is it tacky but I just don't appreciate being told a price, paying for it and the front desk girl awkwardly telling me do " you can just tip me'x amount'". I'm repeating because that's how much in shock I am. I was given 3 different appointments. My original appointment was for 3pm the following day. The first time they called me back to say that they can't book back to back Groupons (not my fault they did this) so they wanted me to come in at 7, I said no problem. Then I got another call telling me they needed me in at 7:30, I said no problem. Then I forgot the time and was told that they were going to redeem my Groupon. They expect you to be flexible with time changes and work with them but they won't do the same for you! WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!!! Similar to the other post they didn't seem happy to redeem the groupon saying that I should have told them it was a groupon at the beginning of the call. read more

After 2+ years of tanning here, I will not be returning. The quality of the tans are average at best (hence the second star) - if they had been spectacular, I may have been willing to deal with the poor customer service. However, you can find a better tan and better attitudes for the same price at other salons in the city. Prepare to have the staff go back on their word for various promotions, interrupt you (to the point where you can't get a sentence out), insult your intelligence (by telling you they "doubt you know" what you're talking about), and accuse you of lying (e.g. "no one here would have told you that") all in one fell swoop! I had a horrible experience here. I got a spray tan as a "trial run" and it went fine, so I decided to get another before my wedding. Heiki recommended the wax - tan package, where you get a bikini wax directly before the tan. DO NOT DO THIS!! The tan showed lines where the wax strips had been and those areas weren't tan at all. There were big blocks of areas of my skin which were a completely different color, all over my upper thighs. I looked absolutely ridiculous for my WEDDING. I emailed and told Heiki about it and she doesn't care. I spent basically $100 on this and looked ridiculous for the most important day of my life. By the way the tan fades in like 2 days, even if you get a good one. It'll start peeling off which also doesn't look good. If you do get one definitely don't do the wax first- you'll regret it!! read more
