They have a spray tan booth but it's different than a versa spa, because they have a clear option, I've never seen this in a spray tan booth & they're 90% what I use for spray tans because I like quick and easy. I love it because I can run in and get one and then run a few errands after without looking crazy so this place really comes in handy. Today it was so nice to run in & now do a few more things and know a tan is developing and it won't ruin my coat. I also use their UV and red light here. Their red light machine is different than why I'm used to, I don't use it every time because of that but sometimes I do. Their UV booths are the best my favorite is the one with red light. This is worth the membership and I've never had to sit and wait for a machine or a tan it's like 30 min of my time & sometimes it's a great pick me up. read more

Owners should fire this girl ASAP as she clearly has no business working in a job where human interaction is a main component of the work. Note that she also insulted the person in front of me in line for not purchasing a points package ("if you're rich it's fine, I just like to tell people about the savings" in an extremely antagonistic tone) so this wasn't just an isolated incident. read more

I loved my first visit here! I decided to try using a tanning bed to help with my seasonal depression, and oh my god did it make a difference... I went home and was like, I'm cured! I don't even care that much about looking tan, but the emotional benefit during the winter is so worth it. Looking forward to getting a tan in the process though! I am SO glad I ended up with a gorgeous tan for my wedding. Everyone kept saying we were glowing, and trust me, it is not because of our love haha. I was back and forth but going from winter in NYC to a Jamaica beach wedding... I really didn't want to look like a lobster by day 2, which would be my wedding day! I expected to look pretty good from the tan, but I did NOT expect to look that good! I also felt amazing, coming to this tanning salon with my partner the month before our wedding honestly was the highlight of our wedding prep experience. It led to us taking better care of our bodies in general, and whitening our teeth, using nightly face masks. Self care wasn't on the top of our bucket list - but this whole experience brought us to the next level. And to top it all we are OBSESSED with the staff. Everyone who works here is incredible. Jason, Tristan and Sarah are just the best. And Jason gave us a killer spray tan before our flight, we will be rocking another one of those for the honeymoon (and who knows, maybe a random Tuesday). I am writing this about the service, the actual spray tan from Tristan was great! I went here prior to my vacation, and this place was referred to me from a good friend. When you book the appt you have to pay a deposit, it should be applied towards your service when you check out; this did not happen. When I realized it I called them and I was told by a women they would refund the money. I waited a week and it still wasn't posted to my account, so I called again. I spoke to Jason and he acknowledged that they had not processed the credit yet and it would absolutely be done that day. I waited another week and still no credit. I called a third time and spoke to the same women who answered before, explained the situation, and a week later, still no credit to my account. I also left a message on their answering machine and never received a call back. I ended up having to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I understand mistakes happen, and I wasn't upset that the charge wasn't applied to the service, I was more upset about the complete lack of service and attention to resolve the issue. After multiple attempts to get it resolved with the staff for weeks, then being ignored, and then having to call my credit card company to dispute the charge; it was really disappointing. Something dripped from the ceiling in the spray tan booth down my face and neck. I'm praying it looks okay tomorrow. It was so hot and no fans or lighting. The people were super friendly but it was dirty. The spray booth had a shower cap and dirty towel inside when I got in. The second star was because the staff was super friendly. It is more affordable than most places. I did the spray booth but seems like most people were getting custom spray by the tech. Might give it another try if it comes out decent since I have to use the second one within 30 days. Probably won't go here before a big event though. read more

I have just had the worst customer service experience in the 35 years I have lived in NYC. I was given a room that had no bench to sit on. I asked the person at the counter if I could have something to sit on and he said no. I asked if I could have a bench from another room and was told no. The snarkiness and dismissing attitude made it even more upsetting. From there it became a shouting match between a customer who had a simple request and a an incredibly rude human. And after arguing with me, points to a bench outside the bathroom and said, "Just take that" He couldn't have said that when I initially asked for something to sit on? There were hooks also hidden behind the tanning bed, and it took 10 minutes for them to come back and point them out. He invaded my personal space, and was just overall an embarrassment to the owner. He refused to offer any contact information for the owner as well. read more

So the reviews were great but experience not so much. The whole place smells like a bathroom which I thought was odd but chalked it up to maybe its the spray tanning products? Even the person I went with, the moment we stepped outside, said it smelled like straight-up pee in the whole place. The place looks nice but my bed was dirty and two of the bulbs were out in the bed. The floor was sticky and looking up in the machine there was dust everywhere. I've also never been in a bed for 15 minutes where I didn't sweat at all. The tan provided no additional color and didn't do anything. I wasted my time and money and lotion for nothing. For 15 minutes my skin didn't even look a little bit tanner, and no tan marks were there should be. Also, they don't provide any additional discounts or specials for new customers. I've just visited this gem today for the first time and let me tell you, I am thrilled to have found it. First, I'll preface this review and tell you that I am going through a major transition in my life and absolutely nothing feels easy at the moment. So... stressed, hungover... basically a wet bag of garbage with a hole in it... I walk in. The manager at the desk was fantastic in getting me all set up with an account etc... Initially I was concerned about tanning again because often staff at tanning salons suck and don't know anything about lotions because they're 7 years old. Happy to report this is not the case at all. The manager was very warm, funny and gave me a full rundown of the lotions best fit for my skin. I ended up buying the best one he recommended which has some sort of ant-aging chemical or plant in it. I don't know. If there's ever a class action against the maker due to reports of mesothelioma I will update this review for you. I doubt it though, it feels great on. The salon is packed with the cutest of touches. Think equinox of tanning if equinox staff weren't frigid. Incredibly clean, well kept and tastefully done. Also the music is such a vibe. I wear my own AirPods but really enjoy theirs as well. Update: I've been here multiple times now and each time better than the time before. I've gotten a great base tan that felt a little flat but faded to a natural color overnight. Absolutely in love with the staff here. I'm always in and out quick, they are so personable and fun. The whole vibe is really an incredible escape from the madness of NYC even if for just a few minutes. I'm very lucky that I tan incredibly well and quickly. This time around I had a healthier tan from not pushing too hard initially and using much better beds. I tanned faster and better than usual. Also the Tekton the manager recommended has been so incredible on my skin it's unreal. I've used hundreds of lotions and various levels of tingles over the years. She is so knowledgeable and sweet and I walked in not sure what to expect and walked out a glowing goddess OBSESSED with my results. The salon is serene and the packages are aplenty for newcomers and tanning experts alike. I opted to buy a buy one get one free package because I didn't know what to expect and didn't want to commit for a full month. Best spray tan I've ever had. I've been getting sprays since I was in middle school and can truly say this was the best spray tan I've ever received. I got it 5 days ago and it still looks as good as the day after I got it (and I've showered every day). The owner was so consultative and made sure the color and look were exactly what I wanted and took his time to make it perfect. He literally contoured my face which I've never had anyone do. I've lived a block away from this place for 5 years and usually have someone come to my apt to spray me but decided to come here bc of the reviews and I'm now I refuse to go anywhere else. A clean, well-run establishment managed by Jason. I was able to walk in and have a session usually without a wait. They have a no reservation policy for the tanming beds I guess. I went for tanning to lower my high cholesterol measurements, hoping to avoid prescription medicine. Much to my delight, it worked! My doctor was very surprised with the blood test results. ( I tanned about 3 times a week with low-level light for 4 weeks, waited a month then had the blood test.) I've just purchased another Groupon offering for an unlimited two week period. read more

I purchased one month of unlimited tanning for $99 + tax in preparation for a friend's summer wedding. I was going to be a bridesmaid and in desperate need of some color. It was my first time using tanning beds, but the staffmember at the desk was very informative and advised me on which beds to use and how to progress to stronger beds depending on how my skin reacts. I went about once or twice a week over the 30 days and I never had to wait. Each session was roughly 10minutes so you're in and out within 20minutes. I walked in here looking like a ghost and emerged with the tan of the gods. This place is incredible! I was getting married in Jamaica after spending two years isolating indoors and avoiding the sun during the pandemic. For multiple reasons (looking sexy, feeling healthy, building resistance against sunburn), my now-wife and I decided to try a tanning salon. The choice was simple based on our home location and the glowing reviews for Future Tan's Tanning Spa. Over the course of one month, we worked with Jason, Tristan, and Sarah to gradually build a base and then dial up a warm uniform tan from head to toe. I used a series of tanning beds based on their recommendation. All were very clean and easy to use. I loved the bronzing bed that plays trippy reggae/island beats out of built-in speakers. For the final session, shortly before our flight to Jamaica, Jason gave me his famous spray tan. I was hesitant at first because I know people who have looked orange or unnatural after a spray tan, or where their spray tan washed off after a couple days. Not so with Jason. He maintained the natural tone that I had developed in the tanning beds, but accentuated all my muscles and curves. I was shocked later that day when everything coalesced. I am an average athlete, but Jason made me look like a rockstar. Better yet, I was able to shower with soap and swim in the pool/ocean for the next week and the spray tan barely faded. My wife looked like an Avenger after Jason worked his magic. After the end of the month, we boarded our flight and disembarked in Jamaica looking like a celebrity couple. Our family and friends commented on our tan and toned bodies, but no one guessed that we used a tanning salon until we told them. I took my weekly stroll down to Future Tan this morning and underwent my weekly Future Tan experience. Nothing has changed since I started going here back in September. We love consistency, don't we. I walk in and a friendly Asian girl greets me at the desk. "Last name?" she requests. How does she not know by now? I tell her my last name. "First name?" I tell her my first name. "Do you live in 23rd street?" she asks. "No.....I live on Fifth Ave," I reply, just like I do every week. "What bed would you like to use?" she asks. "Bed number twelve, with the face plates....just like every time I'm here" I reply, not rudely. The bed is prepared as a wait in the sitting area by the door browsing over their collection of local New York magazines. I'm entranced by the silent film of a woman demonstrating how to mystic tan on the plasma flat screen overhead to my right. "You are all ready in room twelve," the Asian girl permits. I thank her, and make a note to myself that I really should get to asking her what her name is. I go to room twelve, strip down and hop in the bed. I then lay there for ten minutes contemplating all the people who have laid in there underwear or naked in this bed. I wonder if anybody has had sex or masturbated in a tanning bed before. I wonder if anybody has masturbated in THIS tanning bed before. I try not to think about that. My mind starts getting lighter and I start thinking happy thoughts. I'm slowly drifting....I've already had such a long day.....I'm about to fall asleep......when CLICK!! The lights go out. Why do I always ALMOST fall asleep right when the bed turns off? It's the most anticlimactic part of my week. I lay in the bed until the fans stop blowing weighing the options of taking a small nap or just getting up and going home. I get up, because the notion of the Asian girl knocking on the door, then creaking open the door to make sure I didn't die or have a heart attack and finding me in my underwear simply lying in room number twelve is something I just do not want to undergo. read more

So I'm a dude. Okay, a gay dude, but still pretty dude-y. When my Mediterranean-ish Florida-born Bulgarian skin begins to look more like egg white than olive oil, I come here. My first time was a little awkward (isn't it always?) but now it's old hat. The girls up front are super nice, they always offer Yelp! deals, and it's not that pricy to begin with. The point system is pretty easy to follow. I always do the stand-up booth because while I'm not claustrophobic there's just something post-modern Bram Stoker/early Bret Easton Ellis about locking myself into a glowing bed. The place is super clean, and while there's a bit of a funky smell (burning flesh or tanning product...you be the judge) it's not offensive at all. All the rooms are pleasantly decorated and it takes the edge off of the experience. Though I'm not quite sure what I expected...Paris Hilton's Chihuahua nipping at my feet? 5 stars for great service and not making a guy who's never needed to tan feel awkward at all about spiffing up in the cold NYC winter. read more

Awesome experience. I had the handheld spray tan with Amanda and chose the express tan (develops in 2-3 hrs). The color was Gorgeous and the application flawless. Amanda was prompt, professional and really sweet. My first time getting the spray tan here at Future Tan had only been my second time getting a spray tan ever. The color I developed after my Future Tan experience was much more natural looking and even than my other experience. I have been back to Future tan many times this summer. HIGHLY recommend. I used to come here over ten years ago when I still dared to use the UV tanning beds and was a repeat customer then. I was back to the area for the summer and needing a spray tan was pleasantly surprised to see that, while other salons have come and go, Future Tan is still here! I have only had a spray tan 2 times before and my negative experiences with careless employees gave me an unjust generalization that all tanning salons were the same. Fortunately, I gave it another try and the reviews for Future Tan were excellent and on point. The spot is charming, conveniently located, clean and the staff is very friendly. So, I decided to get a spray tan here. As you can imagine stripping down, (where only an awkward cloth strip serving as bottoms separates you from your tanning technician) might be a little uncomfortable. Kiara however, made it not only comfortable, but comical. The finished product? An even, golden tan, that I still have remnants of to remind me how much I wish I was still on vacation.
