My husband works in Syracuse three days a week and stays at the Brook Pointe. I went to Syracuse with him for a week and this was our home base. We were on the second floor and our room was very clean and spacious. Close to Syracuse in a very quiet setting. Great place for a family getaway. There are trails in the woods, large yard to play games, fire pit, swings, back porch, indoor pool, continental morning breakfast. It is a non smoking facility but there is a smoking location for those who have to have a fix. The staff was very courteous and great remembering names. There is also a gazebo with a picnic table for carry-in. Great quiet places to sit and read a book. This would be a great venue for a get together with friends or family. If you go and have any disabilities, ask for a first floor room. There is no elevator and the stairway is a challenge. read more

Just say NO! My husband purchased a "Romantic Couples Getaway" for our anniversary. It was still expensive but..... a romantic weekend at a resort.... Should be worth it. When we pulled in....... My husband said he thought we were at the wrong place. It had an old asylum look to the building. We went to check in at the front desk. Lady had us sign papers and handed us keys..... real door keys. And.... Had to pay another $50 for taxes on the package. Not as upscale as the brochure led us to believe. We drove around to the side door and found our room. When we walking into the room.... We both looked at each other and giggled..............Really?? It was like walking back in time to the 1980's. All wood trim... wood bed frame... wood desk... wood end-table... Wood lamp with a magazine rack in the bottom like my grandmother had. The "jacuzzi tub" was barely big enough for one person. It also had brown "scaling" that was coming out of the jets/filter. The toilet was soo low that you felt like you would sit on the ground when you used it. Barely mid calf tall. Shower had hard water stains and rust on the curtain rod and the trim on the door. The bed was an old box spring bed that creaked and crunched every time you moved. Our "bottle of bubbly" was actually sparkling apple juice. We were given a card with discounts we could use for local restaurants. There were 8 different places on the card and 4 of them were crossed out with a sharpie marker. Not having affiliations with the resort anymore. There was no housekeeping for the entirety of your stay. They had a "gym" that was in a room about the size of a small bedroom. Had a pool but concrete around it looked dirty. Free breakfast was made to order eggs- with pancakes and sausages on a warming table. Didn't look great so we went out for breakfast. We were suppose to have had a couples massage but after we checked in... no one ever checks with you for anything. Went to the desk a couple times and no one was there to even ask about things. We were ok without having it - afraid the lady at the front desk or the lady making breakfast would also be the masseuse. We were suppose to have chocolate lava cakes but after seeing breakfast.... We said no to that also. I would not call this a "resort". It has a large amount of land with trails to walk but...... it's really the hotel that time has forgotten. When we went to check out... walked down to the front desk and no one was there. There was a bowl and a sign that said drop key here when checking out. Your receipt has been emailed to you. I don't recommend. Advertised at $132 a night. But then add on sales tax, occupancy, resort fee, hospitality fee, it added on $37.60 a night extra!!! So around $169 a night. I could have stayed in Goshen or Warsaw for $100 a night. The only other hotel in Syracuse was $199 and much nicer in comparison. The hotel grounds and outside present well but needs to be updated on the inside. Short staffed, dirty carpets, rooms are very basic. Other than the expensive price, the hotel has an iron problem in the water and smells putrid. By day 3, I could not shower with the smell. As well, the breakfast was disappointing. There was no one around to make breakfast. There is one lady doing everything. Front desk, folding towels, making an omelet. You have to track her down. Food portions were controlled. They had out only a few cereals, nothing else! You have to ask for a pancake or a two egg omelet. I know food is expensive right now but really? I left breakfast still hungry and the lady who had made my 2 egg omelet was now gone. No fruit, muffins, bagels, yogurt. I think the hotel should just say no breakfast included. Because it literally was like no breakfast. Beds were comfy. Air conditioner worked well. read more

Just not our cup of tea. Rooms are 'tired'. The resort itself looks nice on the outside but we're visiting locals so no time.

The reason we booked this place was just as a simple stay as we were passing through and they had accommodations for our family, which is hard to find. And I wasn't expecting to see the most upscale hotel resort, but I was thoroughly shocked at the state of our room when we arrived. For one, there was no one at the front desk so I questioned how safe the place was. I had to use the phone to get our room key from a safe. Next was how cheap the decor in the room was. I guess it was supposed to be jungle themed? But like if someone had the budget of the dollar store. The bathroom was the worst part. The toilet seat was covered in urine and it made me think of anything in the room had been cleaned at all. The bunk beds were very well constructed and my kids felt safe in them. But the main bed was busted. Maybe the frame? Not sure exactly, I just know i thought it felt like it was sinking a bit much and then my husband sat down and the bed just about fell off completely. If it wasn't 2am we would've left immediately. Thoroughly unimpressed and disappointed. I thought it looked quaint on the outside but looks are deceiving. The breakfast spread was also pretty chaotic. The seating was weird and there could've been a better arrangement for the food. No buffet, just an order up counter which was in a weird spot and no one knew what to do. Staff seem pretty sparse so I understand things can get hard to keep up with. But a clean room is literally the whole point. And they missed the mark big time. To be objective and fair the place is fairly nice and comfortable and the price quoted was good, but management is terrible. Planned to stay at the place for 4 months (for work) but they wouldn't allow a reservation longer than a week telling me I could just extend each week. 1. I Checked in and paid my week up front, the next day without notifying me the manager charged my card for additional $. When I called she claimed they charged me the wrong rate... it wasn't a lot of $ but what irritated me was the lack of communication in the matter. 2. They make you switch rooms every week, this also was not disclosed up front. 3. When going to renew my stay for the 3rd week I was told I would have to check out for a day because they had sold my room to someone else. I immediately checked out and will never stay there again. We stayed here for our 5 year anniversary. The romance package Included a jacuzzi tub. Was big enough for one person. The bed was horrible. The chocolate lava cake that's part of the romance package was rock hard and the milk was literally soured. To top it off they charged my credit card after the room was already paid for through Groupon. Had to call to get my money back for the second charge. Do NOT recommend this place was NOT worth $180. The room was set up nicely and the staff was very attentive, the room was clean but smelled musty from water getting out on the carpet from the jacuzzi tub by the bed. They need to do some updating but overall we're nice.The lava cake and the sparkling grape juice provided was yummy and the outside grounds are spacious. The room we stayed in had all the usual amenities plus had a fridge. They have a small exercise room with two treadmills and a bike, there is a nice pool which we didn't get to take advantage of and they have adult only swim every evening from 10-12pm read more

I posted my review on booking.com about the whirlpool tub. They only have well water. When I got in the tub it was clean after about 10 minutes there was a dirt ring around the tub. Their reply was that the water just circulates through the Jets implying that I was that dirty when I got in it. I wasn't as we had just come from the pool! I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was very basic, comparable to a Red Roof Inn, but it felt more like a bed and breakfast. The rooms were very spacious but decorations and TV was dated, I wasn't in one if the remodeled rooms. My bed was old and creaked anytime I moved and was sinking in at the middle, but still decently comfortable. The AC unit worked well; however, it seemed to only have two settings, sauna or Antarctica. The two chairs in the rooms were uncomfortable and hard as a rock. There was a hot breakfast included in the stay which was mediocre. They had sausage, fake eggs, biscuits and gravy on the hot bar. Everything was cold except the sausage and the eggs tasted very fake with a strange consistency. There is also a waffle iron and I did enjoy the blueberries and chocolate chips that were sitting out to add to your waffle. That was a nice touch which set the breakfast apart in my mind. There was fresh coffee at all times as well as the standard juice and water. There was also 4 types of cereal to choose from as well as bagels with peanut butter/jelly/cream cheese. My husband and I stayed here for our Anniversary last week. I purchased a discounted romantic getaway package for $69.99 at the Fort Wayne Home & Garden show. (Regular price is $129). A really nice inn away from the noise of the city. We had a jacuzzi (hubby loved), white sparkling grape juice on ice, rose petals and yummy lava cake at our convenience. A discount card for restaurants in town was also included. The continental breakfast was very good. Because the weather isn't warm enough yet, we didn't get to take advantage of the amazing swings and fire pit or the walking trails. There is a lake nearby too that would be worth checking out on sunny days. The only thing that kind of put a damper on the night for us was the fact that there were kids staying in the rooms above us and there was a lot of running and thumping. But at least they went to bed at a good hour. read more

Well, we bought a "romantic couples get away" at the Indianapolis Boat Sport and Travel Show. We used our certificate this past weekend. When we arrived, we were told we had a second floor room and there was not an elevator. In our mid 60's with bad knees this was quite the surprise. And terribly inconvenient. Upon lugging our luggage upstairs, we went to the front desk to inquire about a local eatery we might try. The lady at the desk said Down Under was the best in town. Needless to say, it was putrid. The worst meal I've EVER had. We ended up staying in the room the rest of the night due to the stairs. The next morning we went downstairs for the breakfast buffet. I stand corrected. THAT was the worst meal I've ever had. We packed up, cancelled our massages, and headed home. We decided that eating the second night was MUCH better then subjecting ourselves to another night here. My room had a couple bed bugs, and the AC couldn't be turned on during the night or it would make loud popping noises. The staff were friendly, but everything was very outdated, and there were weird spots in the carpets. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Over priced Hotel room. Bed was hard so I looked under the sheets and found a piece of plywood with a foam top. Hot tub in room was a glorified corner tub only big enough for one person. Tub in room was weird and almost as if they saved money by not building a wall between tub and bed. Very dingy and dirty looking carpet throughout the hotel and room. Found what looked like rose petals under bed that may have been there for a long time. Breakfast was need to order basis eggs and cooked by the same person that was at the front desk at checkout, but NO meat, NO fruit for breakfast. Couldn't even get toast without requesting it. Coffee was unlabeled. Walls and ceiling in the room were paper so thin we could hear ppl above us until 11pm when strict quiet was evoked by management or be thrown out. Brought up my concerns at check out and was told sorry and kick rocks. I say go stay in Goshen where you can find a better, less expensive room without the staff attitude and REAL continental breakfast. read more

I am sorry to say I am not sure about the service and facilities....they may be adequate to great? I am very disappointed that a weekend with friends and another weekend with friends and family had to be cancelled because the confirmed reservations we made in September (for January and March) could not be honored. We were told at the end of December (actually we were sent modified email confirmations with the new pricing and then had to call) that an error in their reservation system offered rooms at a price they would not allow. The new reservation for January was more than $80.00 more. had a wonderful wild weekend getaway experience here, close to Lake Wawasee . It is out from big cities apiece, so if you want to get lost, this is the area. The room had a hot tub in it, if one checks around, a deal for a romantic weekend can be found for around $100 bucks. The breakfast in the morning was self serve, a bit spartan, but, hey , it is ok if one is hung over. The wi-fi also was a bit shaky at first, but later stabilized. My girlfriend and I just stayed here for my birthday/Our anniversary. We ended up having paid for the couples romance which we got at the fair previously in the year at the Elkhart county fair and then we added a day on. We were a little sad to have to change rooms in the middle of our stay but that really didn't damper our mood since the staff was kind to hold our luggage for us while we took advantage of onsite massage and the arcade was a blast and kept us busy. It was raining and wet so we didn't get to have a fire but dis enjoy relaxing on the swings whilst enjoying nature. The evening receptionist was super friendly and fun to chat with as we made our way in and out. The sparkling cider was an awesome finish to our evening in the hot tub. Only sad part of our stay that I can recall is not being able to figure out the outlets in our first room and the eggs in the morning were powder eggs... otherwise I loved making my waffle and adding chocolate chips, yummy! We will definitely be returning and are putting Brookpiont on our list for possible wedding location, we just want to see the views for our time of year. read more

We decided to get the couples night stay. The first time we booked this couples night it was amazing. Big room, huge bed, jacuzzi for two. This is our second time staying with the couples night and there is a queen size bed and a jacuzzi made for only 1 person. There is no way 2 people could fit in there. I reserved the Cabin via telephone for 2-nights. I checked in at 5:40 PM, left via Uber & checked into a resort at 7:52 PM (2-hrs; 12-min). I signed the check-in form, provided my credit card and went to the cabin. As we settled in, we noticed the rugs had not been swept/shaken, sand/dirt visible in entry rug & runner; coffee pot had a hot-chocolate pod left in it; stove-top was greasy; ice maker was not dispensing ice (OLD frozen ice layer in bottom); sofa pillows were flat/dirty & the leather sofa sectional was worn, lumpy and torn in places. The more I actually looked the more I found and was left wondering if the tub had been sanitized, were the bed sheets clean or had the bed been made to appear pretty. At this point, I did not want to stay and feel creepy-crawly all night. I reported this to the office and they followed me to the cabin, I pointed out the issues, she apologized and stated she would show the manager the following morning. I returned the next morning and spoke w/SAM the manager who said she could do nothing for me and informed me about the hospitality industry, which actually infuriated me. Sam actually highlighted "there will be no refunds after guests check in". She also suggested that I check rooms before actually checking in; I guess this is true, especially at the Brook Pointe Inn. Who does this? Another WARNING: Upon checking into Brook Pointe Inn READ what you are signing!!! It states, "I agree that if an attorney is retained to collect .... etc" Again, I admit I never read this but it's obviously written because people are experiencing the same treatment as I did. The owner never contacted me, I left multiple messages. The manager who spoke w/the owner agreed to refunded one night and the basic tone from "Sam" was that I am fortunate. I requested a FULL refund; $143.39 per night. The grounds, I must say, are beautiful; the interior accommodations are lacking. Cleanliness was my concern, PLEASE follow Sam's instruction, ask to see the room prior to checking in and READ Brook Pointe Inn's "NOTICE TO GUESTS" paragraph regarding refunds & attorney fees. A coworker and I stayed at this family owned inn just last week. We had a show at a local camp/retreat area that was only about 3 miles away. The Inn is very reasonably priced, very clean and offered a continental breakfast. What I didn't understand was why there were not more patrons. I can just figure that they are just not advertised enough. If I have reason to be in this area again, I would certainly seek out the Brook Pointe Inn. read more

I would not encourage anyone to stay at The Brook Pointe Inn. The reservations office is unorganized. They messed up a block of rooms, lost reservations, and called guests and told them they could not honor their reservations a week before they were supposed to stay. The hotel itself is outdated. I would suggest for people to stay at The Oakwood instead. read more

We stayed here because we were attending events in the Syracuse area. The hotel's location is very convenient to town. Our room was spacious and smelled clean and fresh because it was! Breakfast is generously offered from 6:30 to 10:30 am, and the cook/server was friendly and kindly brought out items for us. We will be happy to stay here again when we are in the lakes area. read more
