The event included food trucks and a variety of vendors. My friend and I grabbed some BBQ from S&J Catering and it was delicious. We also grabbed donuts from Klassic Donuts and Glazed & Infuzed as well, which were very tasty. As we walked through the different shops, I absolutely loved all the fresh local, produce that was available. One of the shops offered a variety of jarred items and sauces so I purchased Crab Salsa and Spicy Pickled Okra. Both were very good and I definitely need to go back and get more! I absolute love supporting local businesses and I will definitely be returning very soon! Everyone was very nice and I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

My husband and I enjoy supporting small, local markets and farms; especially those that remind us of home and our military roots, so it is extremely disappointing to share that our experience today left us feeling unwelcome and disrespected. While selecting ears of corn, I picked up several that were already opened and set aside. I examined them only to understand why they had been separated. From across the aisle, an employee called out, "Ma'am, you can't open our corn here." I responded politely that I understood. She then approached me and asked, "Did you open all of these?" Her tone was accusatory, and the question itself was inappropriate. I clarified that the ears were already open when I picked them up. Instead of accepting my explanation, she continued lecturing me--repeating the same point multiple times despite my acknowledgment. She also stated that your corn is "fresh, just picked," which was factually incorrect given that the ears I was holding were ice cold. "Fresh, just picked" corn would be warm to the touch, as though it went directly from farm to stand. I mentioned that the opened ears had earworm. She replied that "there is nothing wrong with corn that has a worm; you just cut it off," and continued repeating the same reprimand I had already acknowledged multiple times. Despite my calm responses, the employee continued pressing the issue to the point that my husband stepped in, saying, "Okay, that is enough." The employee then told us, "Maybe you should go to Walmart to buy your corn." This comment was inappropriate, unprofessional, and entirely unnecessary. At that point, we decided to purchase the four ears already in our bag, inform the cashier of our experience, and leave; spending only $5.00 versus our normal $60-$80 we spend each time we visit. Unfortunately, this interaction has led us to decide not to return to your market, which is genuinely disappointing. We value local businesses and the sense of community they provide, but the treatment we received did not reflect the welcoming environment we expected--or the positive experiences we have had over the past six years as regular customers. We drive from Yorktown specifically to buy your fruits and vegetables, but we will not drive to Sandbridge to be chastised and publicly ridiculed for something I did not do, and even if I had, I acknowledged your policy immediately upon being told. I am sharing this feedback in hopes that it will be used constructively. Customer service matters, and interactions like this can significantly impact how patrons perceive and support a business. I trust you will address this issue to ensure future customers are treated with respect and professionalism.

From Chesapeake it was about a 25 minute drive out to this farm in Pungo. We went early, around 12 , on a Saturday afternoon. We wanted to be the rain. You have to purchase and choose available pick times online. You can arrive anytime but can't do the u-pick until your designated slot time. We arrived and there was plenty of parking. We looked around the market first. It wasn't huge but they had a great variety of different jams, jellies, salsa, baked goods and fresh fruit and veggies. Everything was reasonably priced! We went directly outside the market to a little table to check in for blueberry picking! There young lady was polite . She scanned our qr code and gave us arm bands. She did let us know that there were a couple blackberry bushes out there as well that we could pick also. It isn't advertised because they're aren't a lot of plants. A short walk to the entrance to the patch and there picking began!! It was nice because there weren't a lot of people out so the rows weren't crowded. The bushes still had lots of ripe fruit on them! We picked for about 20 minutes, Paid 8 dollars for our pint and went to the car to take a much needed cool off break. We were told that we could walk or drive over to the orchard. It wasn't a long walk, but in the heat, and if you're carrying a box of peaches, it could be a bit much. We drove over to the orchard, parked and checked in at a little shed nearby. we picked peaches for about twenty minutes and even noticed that there were a couple nectarine trees as well. the peaches were not ripe.However, that did not deter us from picking. A simple trip home and storing them in a brown paper bag would ripen them up perfectly in about three days! We paid 20 for a half peck box. It filled up very quickly. Overall great experience!! We are going back to try the ice cream and to pick apples during that season!

It's September which means FALL!…read more First up on our Fall bucket list was apple picking. I believe Cullipher may be the only farm in the area who does apple picking. It was...ok. How they have you walk to the stand, pick apples, then walk back was a bit backtracking, and a little much for my disabled self. It is a farm and I dealt with it. It's early in the season so they only had 2 rows of the orchard open, also not their fault, it is still early. The worker at the stand didn't know which apples were in which row which wasn't helpful because we were looking for a specific one and of course murphy's law, we went down the wrong row first. That said, we had a blast! The apples we picked were delicious and I've already made a large batch of apple butter which turned out perfect. Unfortunately I do think we will travel to a different farm next year.

Instead, it felt like I paid full meal prices for a tiny appetizer. The alcoholic drinks were another disappointment. The entire selection was wine-based, yet they're presented as cocktails. To make matters worse, the drinks come in aluminum cans that are opened and poured into clear plastic cups. This is an outdoor market, so naturally it's hot outside. Within about 15 minutes, the drink was warm and noticeably watered down from melting ice. For what they're charging, I expected something that would actually stay enjoyable for more than a few minutes. And then there was the customer service. The woman at the register took my payment, didn't give me everything I ordered, and then walked away when I tried to get her attention. I had to wave down another employee just to get what I had already paid for. When you're charging premium prices, the food, drinks, and service should actually feel worth the money. Unfortunately, none of them did. The only positive thing I can say is that the actual market itself is very nice and appealing to walk through. They have a good variety of produce, merchandise, and other vendors, and the atmosphere is pleasant. Unfortunately, the food and drink experience didn't live up to the market itself. The food, drinks, and customer service left a lot to be desired. With the prices being as high as they are, I expected a much better experience. The market may be worth visiting to browse, but I would personally skip the food and drinks.

Before we let him out of the car, my husband walked up to the stand and asked if our dog could be outside and they were very happy to have him outside of the lanes of the strawberry patch (understandable, he's a dog after all). The strawberries were abundant, big, and juicy! We easily filled up our bucket in minutes. We will 100% be back here next year instead of some of the biggest farms in the area.

I have been involved with New Earth since construction. The market sells produce, eggs, meat, vegetables, bread, flowers and more to the public. Everything available will be harvested from New Earth. Items will be sourced to their their three restaurants, Commune and Prosperity Kitchen & Pantry. The educational component such as Farm Table has been ramped up with the installation of a new kitchen. Cooking classes can be scheduled at www.newearthfarm.organd are for all ages and groups welcome. Other educational items that can be booked through their website are Farm Lab & Food Lab. We learned some cool new tricks and met some new people at the workshop. I was impressed with the little building where the training happened - it was a cold day after a snow and it was warm and toasty inside. I had no idea this farm was nearby (I live just down Nimmo) and spoke to the Training Director who informed me that they have tons of workshops on canning, vinegars, foraging and other things during the warmer months as well as an active farmer's market area where they sell lots of goods grown on their farm. I'll have to add this into my rotation for fresh veggies and new training!
