To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally bring to your attention an incident that occurred during my visit to your market on June 28, 2026. My husband and I enjoy supporting small, local markets and farms; especially those that remind us of home and our military roots, so it is extremely disappointing to share that our experience today left us feeling unwelcome and disrespected. While selecting ears of corn, I picked up several that were already opened and set aside. I examined them only to understand why they had been separated. From across the aisle, an employee called out, "Ma'am, you can't open our corn here." I responded politely that I understood. She then approached me and asked, "Did you open all of these?" Her tone was accusatory, and the question itself was inappropriate. I clarified that the ears were already open when I picked them up. Instead of accepting my explanation, she continued lecturing me--repeating the same point multiple times despite my acknowledgment. She also stated that your corn is "fresh, just picked," which was factually incorrect given that the ears I was holding were ice cold. "Fresh, just picked" corn would be warm to the touch, as though it went directly from farm to stand. I mentioned that the opened ears had earworm. She replied that "there is nothing wrong with corn that has a worm; you just cut it off," and continued repeating the same reprimand I had already acknowledged multiple times. Despite my calm responses, the employee continued pressing the issue to the point that my husband stepped in, saying, "Okay, that is enough." The employee then told us, "Maybe you should go to Walmart to buy your corn." This comment was inappropriate, unprofessional, and entirely unnecessary. At that point, we decided to purchase the four ears already in our bag, inform the cashier of our experience, and leave; spending only $5.00 versus our normal $60-$80 we spend each time we visit. Unfortunately, this interaction has led us to decide not to return to your market, which is genuinely disappointing. We value local businesses and the sense of community they provide, but the treatment we received did not reflect the welcoming environment we expected--or the positive experiences we have had over the past six years as regular customers. We drive from Yorktown specifically to buy your fruits and vegetables, but we will not drive to Sandbridge to be chastised and publicly ridiculed for something I did not do, and even if I had, I acknowledged your policy immediately upon being told. I am sharing this feedback in hopes that it will be used constructively. Customer service matters, and interactions like this can significantly impact how patrons perceive and support a business. I trust you will address this issue to ensure future customers are treated with respect and professionalism. read more

On the way from False Cape, VA State Park, I stopped here at Bay Breeze Farm. Seems I brought my chicken with me to grill but forgot my veggies. They had a nice selection. Looked super fresh. I got bell peppers, zucchini, and a potato. I can prob chop and cook in a foil wrap over the fire. They also had some super great smelling homemade goats milk and other natural ingredients. I bought 3 of those. French Lavender, Patchouli, and Honeysuckle vine. They smell amazing! They also have jarred fruits and jams, frozen and fresh seafood, which was too pricey for me, and some pretty plants. Overall it was a good stop. read more

On this, our first trip to the Sandbridge portion of Virginia Beach, we were happy to find this farmers market. As "city dwellers" we asked for help picking a watermelon. Todd and his grandson helped us. The strawberries were also great and much better than what we find in grocery stores. read more

Was very excited to return here as my family has traveled to Virginia Beach for a reunion every other year. However the service is terrible now and the produce is subpar. I was able to get better tomatoes at Food Lion after leaving. It has a large parking lot but after my experience; being followed by staff and sold rotten corn I will not return!! read more

I love this farmer's market - it's one of my fav ones in the area. I've seen it for a while when driving to Sandbridge beach but hadn't pulled in while it was open. It's a small wooden farmer's market stand on the side of Sandbridge Rd. in a gravel lot. You notice lots of fresh flowers and potted hanging flowers when you walk up. They're growing mums on the side in rows and it's really charming. It's much larger than it appears when you drive past. They have fresh sunflowers that are huge and pretty and I buy them weekly to keep in my kitchen. The sunflowers here last for a long time and they're really cute. Recently they've had some flavored boiled peanuts in crockpots off to the right side of the store. Just past that is some fresh caught fish like tuna, salmon, etc. They have huge fresh tomatoes as well as tons of market produce items - red/white potatoes, green beans, avocados, corn, eggplant, peppers, cucumber, squash, etc. etc. It's not all veggies - there are watermelons, peaches, cantaloupe, beautifully ripe strawberries and the best blueberries EVER. Seriously - I don't want strawberries and blueberries for my yogurt and smoothies anywhere else - I've been ruined! They have a lady who makes fresh pies and cookies and stuff which they sell. We haven't tried them but the berry pies and pecan and apple all look great. Plus there are cowgirl cookies and chocolate chip and oatmeal - we drool over them every time but decide to be good. I'm sure one day we'll break. Some small wooden beach signs and crafts are scattered around and the far back left wall has canned jams and assorted goodies from local farms. They do accept credit cards here - I didn't know if they would - but they do so it's easy to pay. They still calculate the prices for everything with notebooks and pen and paper and an old school calculator. Makes it feel really legit a small town farmer's market - which - I suppose it is. Love it! I come every weekend. I think their hours are something like 9am-5pm weekends. read more

I had high hopes for this farm stand. I went for the first time on 5/25/2024 to purchase 10 pint of blueberries (they said they were from North Carolina) and a quart of (South Carolina) peaches. When I sorted through it all at home, I discovered that of those 10 pints, a total of 3 pints were moldy and of the 8 peaches in the basket, 4 were moldy. All the moldy fruit was hidden on the bottoms of the containers, of course. A complete waste of money. read more

I decided to go on a drive the other day to get some seafood and saw this place on the way. I have been craving fresh from the farm thick tomatoes for tomato sandwiches. there is plenty of parking. everything was so arranged so neatly. a variety of fruits, veggies, meats, homemade desserts, and more. Some things were a little pricey ( probably for the tourists ) gotta make that money. To top it all off the staff was extremely friendly and made me smile. We bought boiled peanuts, peaches and corns on our way back to our hotel. The peanuts were like a day old so it was soggy and salty price was $3 for 16oz cup. The peaches were locally grown and $2.49/lb. The corns were also locally grown and was selling for .60cents per piece. They also have a lot preserves,honey vegetables. Huge parking lot. read more

We come to Virginia every year, and absolutely love it. Bay Breeze Farm was one of our favorite places to buy sea food and produce for last 7 years. Well, not any more. The prices has become insane for something that is local, it's more expensive than organic farm in New Jersey, and staff is indifferent at best and rude at worth. It looks like this place has become a tourist rip off over the years. I'm done shopping there. read more

This is a cute farmer market stand on the road to Sandbridge beach. I stopped here to pick up a few items for snacking on the beach. They have a great selection of fresh corn, green beans and other veggies as well as peaches, blueberries, and some of the best strawberries I have ever tasted!! They also have packed items such as jams, salsas and cold items to go like tuna salad. The best part- they sold the best granola (sugar and gluten free, too!) from Fresh Batch Jams- a local granola company. I went back the next day and bought out their stock! They even have fresh flowers and raw seafood items for purchase! They have great prices and friendly staff. Definitely check them out for some goodies for your beach vacation! read more

This is a wonderful produce place! Stopped by on our way back from the beach and picked up a couple of things. Really enjoyed the boiled peanuts! Don't get to have them very often since we live in the Philly area. Anyway, this place is pretty big and has lots of good stuff to offer. In addition to the usual produce, jellies, etc., they have some home decor for sale as well... Signs and whatnot. Check it out sometime. read more

My husband's family vacations in Sandbridge every year, so that equates to 15 of us in one house. The last few years I've frequented this stand to buy their produce, which is always fresh and delicious (we just don't get peaches like these ones at home in PA). This year my husband and I decided that we would cook in (instead of trying to get 15 of us in a restaurant) and we decided to steam shrimp. I wanted to make sure we got fresh shrimp at a good price and that they were a decent size. This place did not disappoint when it came to their seafood. I called the day before and they were willing to set aside my order of shrimp since I needed to buy 10 pounds and it was so convenient to pick up the shrimp and corn at the same place. You also can't beat their location. I hope they plan on sticking around because we've been requested to steam shrimp next year too (and the price definitely beats any restaurant!).
