I drove from far away to make it on time. What happened? NO ONE WAS THERE. Not only did they completely stand me up for our confirmed appointment, but there is also absolutely NO WAY to contact them. This is not an exaggeration: 1. The main office number (714-667-5197) goes straight to a voicemail that is FULL and cannot accept any more messages. It then just hangs up on you. 2. Their website messaging system is broken and returns an error. 3. The voicemail mentioned another number (949-802-1169). I called it. It's the exact same story: no answer, full voicemail, call rejected. 4. I was literally standing at the apartment entrance. I used the intercom listed for the office ("000"). Still. No. Answer. They are completely unreachable. They took an appointment they had no intention of honoring and provided zero means for customers to follow up. This is a complete failure of basic business operations and common courtesy. I wasted my gas, my time, and my effort because of their sheer incompetence and lack of respect for people's schedules. This company is a joke. Save yourself the immense frustration and avoid them at all costs.

Parking was annoying if you had two cars for the one bedroom considering you only got one parking spot. We eventually moved into a two bedroom so once we had the second spot it was worry free. Mikey the property manager was always very nice and personable. Sometimes she was forgetful over minor things but when it came to leaks, something broken, or problems it always fixed right away. The things that sold me about this complex as well is that the rent was not outrageous like the complex's right next door. We did not have to sign a lease it was just month to month so when moving out you just have to give a 30 day notice. No pet rent, and we had three cats at the time. The only cons would be there's only one wall AC Unit in the living room so it would get hot during summer in the bedrooms. And also the shared laundry. But that was not a deal breaker cause the laundry room was always well kept.

Warning to Prospective Tenants of Rancho Monterey Apartments…read more I love my neighbors and the location, but I wish someone had told me what was really going on before I signed my lease 5 years ago. The parking situation here is an absolute disaster, and management is doing nothing to fix it. There are clear rules posted on the property: Resident Parking Only, No Commercial Vehicles, 72-Hour Maximum Parking. None of these are enforced. Right now, we have: * Abandoned cars sitting for months in spaces we pay for * Commercial vans and mobile detailing businesses treating the lot like a free storage yard * Tenants parking 4-5 vehicles each, including motorcycles, work trucks, and equipment vans * Out-of-state and expired-tag cars parked for weeks while residents drive around hoping for a spot Management is rarely in the office and emails go unanswered. This isn't about attacking anyone personally--we understand everyone has their challenges--but we are paying premium California rent with no protection or enforcement. Five years ago, there were decals to track resident vehicles and it worked. Now, the system is gone, and so is our parking. There are auto detailing companies, contractors, event staging, etc all sorts of businesses being run out of this property while their commercial vehicles take our parking to run their for-profit business. They take the hundreds or gallons of water from the units and empty their trash into our dumpsters at night so it's just a matter of time until the rent goes up for us that actually PAY to live here. Look at these photos. This is DAY AND NIGHT here for the past SEVEN TO EIGHT MONTHS. Management lives here so it's a CHOICE to "not see" this and do anything about this. It doesn't stop at parking. The dumpsters overflow halfway through the week because outside businesses dump their trash here. The pools are locked down. Amenities we pay for are disappearing while other people who don't even live here abuse the property. We're not asking for luxury, just basic fairness. Until commercial vehicles are towed, abandoned cars are cleared, and parking rules are enforced, this is a bait-and-switch situation. We all moved in with the understanding this was a protected, residents-only community. What we got instead is a storage lot for people running businesses and leaving junk cars on site while the rest of us pay the price. We are posting this because about 22 other residents have agreed: enough is enough. We'll gladly remove this review when we see action taken. Until then, consider yourself warned: you're paying full price here for half the value. Oh and all that hard work you put in at your job, well... save some energy for when you get home as you won't have parking INSIDE the property like you signed a lease to receive.

With in an hour he was able to replace my AC. To this day, I truly appreciate them that they are concern about our (mine and my pup) well being. I paid my rent on the 30th, on the 6th I came home to find a 3 day pay or quit on my door (dated the 5th) I called in and they said that had my rent money, but that it had not hit my "ledger". They then said that it was for my 35$ utility bill. I was pissed. I went online and it showed that I owed another $900. For what I don't know. They also said they would be keeping my security deposit for "cleaning fees" regardless if I cleaned or not. I feel obligated to sue.

This is annoying since we have no dedicated turns (light or stop) to allow us to turn left to get to the freeway, so you have to turn right and then pull a U turn at some point soon in order to get to the freeway. It is a major pain, but that is in no way a fault of the complex owners/managers. Another thing is that there is a regular occurrence of the water being turned off for periods of time. I don't know why there are so many issues with the plumbing, but it doesn't seem normal.

First there were minor annoyances... the neighbors who sat out on the patio and drank while their kids screamed and knocked over furniture for hours until they go drunk enough to go scream at them (yes, we heard it all). We paid for an extra parking space (yes, we had to PAY for parking... in ORANGE COUNTY!) and they oversold the spaces and we had to complain. No one was allowed in the pool area except for residents. My mother came to visit from out of town, stayed a month (which I had to get permission for her to stay with us) and she could not use the pool. Stray cats roamed the property and used the space under the stairs as litterboxes (which smelled AWFUL). My shower broke (no hot water), and when I went to complain, the owner (who was at least 90 years old) and instead of sending someone to fix it, he said "Well, you did turn it to 'H', right? You know you have to wait a while for it to warm up". I was infuriated... I told him that I know I am Female, but that doesn't make me retarded, and I'm quite sure I knew how to use a shower. They sent someone up to fix it, but I went without a shower for two days. One Sunday night a note appears on the door at 5pm that says "We will be replacing the piping in all units with copper piping, starting tomorrow. It could take up to 20 days to complete." Already, I was annoyed for the lack of notice, and the fact my mom was visiting from out of town, and they were going to tear my place apart. At 8:15 pm there was a knock at the door. One of the ladies from the office is standing there. "I wanted to let you know they'll be starting your apartment tomorrow". The next day we went to work. My husband calls around 7pm. "Um, there are holes in all the walls... Not under the sinks like they said. And there is water coming from the ceiling. They put a bucket under it, but it's only catching part of it. It looks like the leak has moved and there's water coming from other parts. It's over your DVD case and CDs." I asked him to move the furniture and put another bucket under the other leak, and try not to worry. They'll fix it, right? He called back an hour later. "They came and fixed the leak, and poked holes in the ceiling to drain the water. The rug and carpet are both kind of wet." I got home, and there were holes in every single wall of my apartment EXCEPT in the bedrooms. The family room had at least 5 holes in the walls, and the ceiling is stained and ruined from one wall to the other from the leak. There were insulation and dry wall crumbs and wood splinters on every surface of the bathroom, and carpeting. All of my furniture and belongings were stacked in the center of the living room, on the couch, coffee table, turntable, on the dining table, dining chairs... And the office.. our office was so full of stuff you couldn't walk into it. The linen and hall closets had to be empties and holes cut in them too. And the shelves were ripped out of the linen closet and left in a heap on the floor of the closet, nails sticking out. All of the linens and items from the closet were stacked in the office chairs, the desk, on top of the printer, on the floor, on the book cases, everywhere. The next morning I stopped by the office to inquire on when they would have everything repaired and back to normal. "We need to have the city inspect everything before we patch". She says. "Do you mean that you need to do all 100 units before the walls can be patched?" I ask cautiously. "I'm not sure, but I think so" she says. I laughed about it all day the first day. The second day I worried. The third day I cried. And somehow crawling around the attic these morons disconnected my internet connection. And even though they finished the pipes in my apartment they had to access the attic through my apartment, so every day they traipsed in white dust and black dirt. They unplugged my things and left them unplugged. And lord knows what else they did while I was at work. And maybe I should have been grateful I wasn't my neighbors downstairs. They had a hole from their living room to the outside. I saw it on the outside of the building. The apartment was like this for 4 weeks. So when they finally came in and painted the walls, the paint they used is flat, when the original paint was glossy. So there were spots of non-shiny paint everywhere, even above the shower. The ceiling repair was really bad. They only cut out part of the damaged ceiling (leaving other damaged parts), put dry wall up, put the popcorn stuff on and painted over it with white paint. The yellow stains still showed through the paint, & the popcorn was applied sparingly and looked odd compared to the rest of the ceiling. I moved out a week later.

He lived there and provided maintenance very timely. He was at the office five days a week. We thought this was great. He also knew all the residents and always said hi. Then after living there for about 9 months, he is gone. New management comes in. I saw about three different ladies walking around and also at least two guys. No one ever introduced themselves. They reduced the office days to only two days a week which was incredibly inconvenient. For maintenance calls, they were also incredibly slow, like I've never experienced before. Things would take weeks because of them only being open two days a week. Absolutely ridiculous. The last 2 months that I lived there our dishwasher did not work. I reached out about this like 5 times over 6 weeks. The last two weeks I obviously just gave up because I was moving out anyways. Some of my glasses were completely ruined by this dishwasher. Then after 6 weeks or so one of the management ladies comes over one day to look at our dishwasher and this nice but dumb ass lady has the nerve to say "oh yeah it hasn't been working for two weeks right?" No, bitch, no. - the walls of this place are really thin - the car gate was always broken and would beep all night long - the ceilings in the bedrooms are popcorn ceilings!!!
