I appreciate the quick follow-up before arriving at my appointment. Once I arrived, the check-in & pre-exam by the Tech went smooth & quickly. I opted to pay $40 for the Optomap Retinal Exam, a non-dilating procedure that captures a digital image of the retina & doesn't cause for your eyes to be dilated for hours afterward. After about a 10-minute wait, Dr. Hymowitz called me back, performed his exam while sharing insight along the way. His standard of care is good while his expertise in the staff he employs is evident as everyone works well together. Even with the current promotions, the slim selection of frames & steep prices kept me from purchasing new reading glasses at this time. The other option of replacing my current lens was pretty steeped as well. Nonetheless, a positive visit overall & I recommend Team Hymowitz for your eye wellness.

Due to my eye disease, I inquired whether my provider could complete the necessary form. I was informed that my primary care provider (PCP) needed to complete it, which is not an issue. However, my PCP is a nurse practitioner. According to state regulations, a nurse practitioner cannot complete the medical waiver form for my vehicle; it must be filled out by either my optometrist, who is familiar with my diagnosis, or my medical doctor. Given my eye disease and additional issues like migraines and light sensitivity, I find it concerning that she suggested I find another optometrist to complete the form. I do not understand why I am being directed to seek assistance from a different optometrist when my current one should be able to help with this request. Parking is pretty scarce as the shopping plaza is always busy but there are numerous parking garages. I had high hopes for this place because of the location. When I initially called in the gentleman I spoke to over the phone was very courteous and friendly. On my appointment visit I arrived early and was given paperwork to fill out. The rep helping me then was also friendly. I went through the initial eye process then met the dr. The Dr was also friendly and provided me with my new contacts. I also had my eyes dilated. This part was soo foreign to me and I ended up not being able to see for 2-3 hour after. I had to wait until it wore off a bit because I didn't bring a driver. I wish there would've been more communication on that part. My least favorite part was the ordering of the actual contacts. They called me in one time and said my contacts arrived so I went up 1 week after my eye exam and was excited to have contacts... but unfortunately it was just another sample set of contacts. I thought this part was just a tad inconvenient to the consumer because I had to wait another week to actually get my contacts in my hand. They do ship to your house free of charge so that was a pro. They seem to use a third party vendor for your contacts and when I received them they were mislabeled as daily wears... I was confused and also bothered because I ordered a 6 month supply. I called back on the next business day and was told this was actually a 6 month supply & that they're sorry the vendor labeled it that way... very confusing! Final Verdict: I don't think I'll go back here. I'm just used to getting contacts on the same day as my eye exam and I didn't like waiting 2 weeks for my particular contacts. They definitely got the job done as far as my contact needs so they get 3 stars, there were just too many hiccups for my particular liking!

I have been to retina specialists - at his suggestion - but found that his experience, knowledge, and communication provided better care to me. I highly recommend Dr. Ross and Ross Eyecare - they are simply the best I have ever worked with for my eye care and eye health. For what it's worth, I don't recommend the optical department. They have made mistakes, are slow to respond, and there are other places that do a better job.

I was told that appointments were given a 15 minute grace period. The receptionist then asked if I would be able to get there by 9:00am. I wound up arriving at 9:03am due to 2 lanes being blocked because of an accident. I was told that I would have to reschedule because I was a new patient and there was paperwork I would have to fill out. I asked why the receptionist didn't tell me that I wouldn't be seen if I was past the grace period. The check-in person said that she heard the receptionist tell me that they give a 15 minute grace period. To be clear, the receptionist didn't tell me my appt would be canceled. I asked if 3 minutes really made that big of a difference and she said "yes because I was a new patient". So, after traveling 90 minutes to get to this appt based on a friend's recommendation, I left without seeing anyone. I understand that doctors have tight schedules, you as the patient have to allow for Atlanta rush hour traffic (which I did do by buffering for an extra 45 minutes) and they told me I had a 15 minute grace period. I am frustrated that I now have to turn around over 3 minutes. I guess if you have to give one patient more grace, it's too much. They have their rules and I have my disappointment. I advise anyone making a morning appointment to allow 60 minutes because 45 wasn't enough for me personally. This office rates high. I'm sure they are great if you're lucky enough to get there on time.

I see an Opthamologist at Emory and do not see any reason an optometrist needs those records as there only job is to provide a prescription for eyeglasses. any medical issues are being addressed otherwise which I firmly told the person answering the phone. She kept saying that unless I provide my personnel medical record, they would have to charge me more than the advertised/posted price. As much as I liked Dr. Hsu, I am going to another optometrist (different Costco) that has an office that understands the difference between getting an eye glass prescription and what I go to an ophthalmologist for. no upcharge for not providing my medical record.
