Picking replacement glasses, 09.16.2023.
Kathryn L.

The entire staff is welcoming regardless of their positions to ensure customers are greeted & assisted without a long wait. They offer various real-time services - I got my reading glasses frames replaced within an hour of walking in. The warranties definitely come in handy, as after processing my insurance my $350 visit came to around $125. After making any appointments, you'll get a text a few days beforehand as a friendly reminder. This location is inside of Perimeter Mall, on the lower level next to Macy's.

I came here with R so that he could get a new glasses prescription. He made an appointment, which was the first one of the morning when most of the mall stores were closed. Parking wasn't an issue at all since most of the stores were still closed, and we parked on the first floor of the parking garage near Macy's and Nordstrom. We walked into LensCrafters, and, although they still had the lights off in the front half of the store, they were all ready for business. Two employees greeted us and R told them that he had an appointment. We walked through the store with one of the employees to the waiting area, where R was given forms to fill out. After that, he was brought back to get his eyes checked, his pupils dilated, and everything else that needed to be done. While he was in the examination rooms, I walked through the store, looking at all of the different types and brands of eyeglass frames, thinking ahead to when I will be eligible (through my vision insurance plan) to replace the glasses that I am currently wearing. This LensCrafters location is a big store, and this is probably the biggest selection of frames that I would consider wearing that I've seen at one store. I thought that most of them were on the pricey side, but LensCrafters is known for being quicker on fulfilling eyeglasses orders, and doing it with quality in mind. While I was looking at the frames, different employees asked me if I needed assistance with the frames, which I thought was very good service because they knew that I didn't come in here for any of their services. The employees were very professional at this location. After R was doing with his examinations and had his prescription, he sat down with one of the employees (while I hovered around) to arrange for new lenses put into a frame that he already had and liked, and had brought with him. The employee was able to make the necessary measurements and created the order for R, although it took the employee a while and included some consultation with another employee because I think he was new and didn't quite yet have all the confidence or knowledge that he needed to complete the order himself. The store was clean, spacious, and certainly was conducive to social distancing among customers and employees.

Always a great experience getting my glasses here. Akeia was helpful. They are very quick and efficient.

This place was amazing and the customer service is beyond exceptional. Doctor Catherine assures me That my eyes were health by using the new optmap technology and reminded me of how important it is to keep up to date on your eye exam. I had medical and eye insurance that covered my visit. But without it the visit could be a little expensive.Sophie was the person to help me pick out my frames and give great feedback. I would definitely recommend this location to oth

Look how they spoiled shape of My Brand new Ran Ban frame which I bought from them.

When it came time to get glasses, I had a picture of the lenses I wanted and not only did Akeia bring those frames but several others for me to pick from.

She spent the time to answer many of my detailed questions with in depth answers and examples. She has a way to translate such complicated science about the eye in an informative digestible way. I'm so grateful to have found her on Yelp many months ago! Special shout-out to Emily! As a first time client, she was inviting and frankly fun to talk to. Also she helped me pick out the coolest pair of new glasses. PS- Dr Jen mentioned my prescription had hardly changed, so I wouldn't need a new pair of glasses. What?!? I don't think I've ever had a doctor not sell me on something. You got appreciate the honesty.

My recent appointment with Dr. Lindsay Eisenberg was efficient; however, during the exam, the doctor used her fingers to demonstrate slanted eyes while discussing dry eye and made a comment about Botox in relation to this. This gesture and remark were racially insensitive and have no place in patient care, as comments and gestures of this nature affect whether patients feel safe seeking care. I have decided not to return. Overall, the clinic runs smoothly, and don't forget to request your updated prescription at checkout!

I began searching for a private eye care (not a chain) that was close to my house and worried that I wouldn't be able to find one I liked. My search has now ended. This office has a friendly and professional staff, thorough exams with providers that listen and answer all of your questions. However, the 7 day return policy is not flexible enough. When it comes to progressives, you need a few days to adjust to them. If there's a problem, one needs time to return to the store, find out that the prescription might be wrong, reschedule another ophthalmologist appt, and then return again with a new prescription. For people who work, it is not possible to miss so much work--or get another doctor's appointment so quickly--and return to fix the glasses. I spent a few hundred dollars for unwearable glasses because I work full-time and could not get back into the store with a new prescription within 7 days. I had to wait another year before I could address this due to insurance coverage. I recommend DHEC for standard glasses and the outstanding staff, but if you need progressives that might need some adjustments over time, you might want to consider a place with a more lenient policy.

I had an appointment at Ross Eye Care Group for 8:45am. As I got caught up in World Cup Traffic and…read morerealized I would be 5 minutes late for my appointment, I called to advise them. I was told that appointments were given a 15 minute grace period. The receptionist then asked if I would be able to get there by 9:00am. I told her my GPS was showing I would but I didn't know what traffic would do. She thanked me for calling and we hung up. I wound up arriving at 9:03am due to 2 lanes being blocked because of an accident. I was told that I would have to reschedule because I was a new patient and there was paperwork I would have to fill out. I asked why the receptionist didn't tell me that I wouldn't be seen if I was past the grace period. The check-in person said that she heard the receptionist tell me that they give a 15 minute grace period. To be clear, the receptionist didn't tell me my appt would be canceled. I asked if 3 minutes really made that big of a difference and she said "yes because I was a new patient". So, after traveling 90 minutes to get to this appt based on a friend's recommendation, I left without seeing anyone. I understand that doctors have tight schedules, you as the patient have to allow for Atlanta rush hour traffic (which I did do by buffering for an extra 45 minutes) and they told me I had a 15 minute grace period. I am frustrated that I now have to turn around over 3 minutes. I guess if you have to give one patient more grace, it's too much. They have their rules and I have my disappointment. I advise anyone making a morning appointment to allow 60 minutes because 45 wasn't enough for me personally. This office rates high. I'm sure they are great if you're lucky enough to get there on time.
