After I made my appointment online, a few hours later one of the patient reps called me back in regards to my insurance coverage. I appreciate the quick follow-up before arriving at my appointment. Once I arrived, the check-in & pre-exam by the Tech went smooth & quickly. I opted to pay $40 for the Optomap Retinal Exam, a non-dilating procedure that captures a digital image of the retina & doesn't cause for your eyes to be dilated for hours afterward. After about a 10-minute wait, Dr. Hymowitz called me back, performed his exam while sharing insight along the way. His standard of care is good while his expertise in the staff he employs is evident as everyone works well together. Even with the current promotions, the slim selection of frames & steep prices kept me from purchasing new reading glasses at this time. The other option of replacing my current lens was pretty steeped as well. Nonetheless, a positive visit overall & I recommend Team Hymowitz for your eye wellness. read more

See frames at the Midtown location, which is my normal spot. Moved. Closer to this location but having limited brands is definitely a pause. Haven't had the exam yet. I see these everywhere but have never visited. I was going to the Eye Gallery for years until currently. This location was able to get me in for a last minute appointment as I was running out of contacts and needed an updated prescription. Parking in this area is free and abundant. I parked on the street right in front of the storefront. I waited 5-10 minutes before I was taken to the back. The staff was very friendly and made me feel comfortable by letting me know what tests would be performed and why. They even have a machine that takes the time delay out of the dilation process. The machine quickly measures dilation and takes a couple of minutes. There is no need for the dark glasses and your vision is not affected afterwards. Keep in mind, this test is an additional cost that may or may not be covered by insurance. It's always a hassle to come back and get my eyes dilated so this quicker version was greatly appreciated. After my main exam, I was able to try out some new contacts before making a final decision. They have a large selection of contacts and eye glasses. I ended up ordering contacts and they were available for pick up at the store within a week. All in all it was a fairly quick appointment which is key for me. I was in and out within 45 minutes. This will definitely be my new eye doctor home. read more

Great experience - from their staff to Dr. My Lien Nguyen. I've been loyal to their midtown location for many years (formerly "Eyedeology") but changed over to the Brookhaven location b/c they had a last minute opening - and so glad that happened b/c the Brookhaven office is much more convenient, their parking is hassle-free, and I think they may have a larger frame selection too. I got my eye exam done - very quick & efficient. FYI the retina scan is now $39 (if you want to avoid dilation). I esp. liked Dr. Nguyen - she was really great at answering my questions, took time to show my eye scans and pointing out different things, and very personable. She was a driving decision for me to switch offices - and I love that b/c they are all part of the same chain, they have all my history ... so honestly, it's easy to switch anytime. Front office staff is terrible, unprofessional, and rude, which is a reflection of this office. I walked in within grace period for my appointment only to wait in line for 3 people to check in one person ahead of me. I was told that I missed my grace period by one minute and they would not honor my appointment time and I would have to wait when to see the doctor becomes available. Our family has been coming to this location for years, but given the cold callous customer service we will not continue to give business to this location. read more

Don't go there! DON'T! They charge you randomly. I wanted to get new contact lenses two months ago, since my prescription remained unchanged, I thought I wouldn't be charged contact fitting fee. Well, I wasn't charged that but they charged me another added surprised fee! Also, I told the doctor specifically that I didn't want to change my contact lenses' brand, but when I went to the counter and was about to pay, I found out they were gonna get me a new brand I told them my eyes felt discomfort with! They've been trying very hard to get you use brands they work with! Unbelievable! read more

I've gotten glasses and contacts from these folks for several years. I have always had a good experience. On my latest contact exam, I walked in on a Monday, had an appointment on Tuesday, and my contacts in my hand on Friday. The only issue I have had is not necessarily with them, but rather with insurance interactions, which could happen to any providers. It seems like there is always some issue weeks or months later. read more

I have been a customer for years. Dr. Hymowitz is exceptional and provides awesome individualized care. The staff are professional, helpful, but I doubt I will be purchasing glasses again. After being encouraged to select pricey frames that I thought might be too heavy with my lenses, I had to exchange them for something lighter. I asked, but did not get a refund on the expensive frames. I would have appreciated even a token amount of $100 or even $50 just to feel appreciated as a customer (the price difference was over $400). However, there is a no refund policy so be careful when you are making a selection. Or you can continue to get the best eye exam and evaluation in Atlanta from Dr. Hymowitz and just buy your glasses elsewhere! read more

Dr. Hymowitz is a very knowledgeable optometrist. I had been a patient of his 10 years ago and glad I found him! They actually had trial contact lens available. Offices often don't. They promptly accommodated me for a refitting when I let them know I was having problems with the trial pair of contacts. The eyeglasses selection is good too. Office was really busy today being the end of the year. I'll go back later to select eyeglasses. read more

I went to my annual eye exam at MyEyeDr and it went smoothly. It is in a modern facility in Brookhaven. It boasts the latest technologies, including retinal scanning (in lieu of dilation) for an extra $23. The selection of glasses is not outstanding, but it is larger than average. Parking is ample. The people that work here are friendly and efficient however the Doctor isn't the most engaging man in the world. He is knowledgeable though. I recommend this place for an annual eye exam. Something more serious, I'm not sure. read more

When my first glasses needed fix, I just walked in and they fixed it well. This is what I love about the Eye Doctor on Timberlake Rd., Lynchburg, VA. I should give them a 4 star, but I gave 1 because the order experiences are disappointing. If you use this office, you should check where your order is to be made. I guess if it is made in overseas area, it will take forever. Please consider another frame taking shorter time. I have two times' order. The first time, it took above one month to get my glasses. But it took me even longer to get them. Because when they had received the order, they told me they didn't. They did so each time I called. When they answered they received, it has been some time later after they actually received it. Also, they never called me although they said they would call me and I didn't need to do so. If I didn't call them, I guess they would store my glasses in their office forever. But at that time I didn't leave a review about this because I thought such a thing was probably occasional. However, years later, I ordered new the glasses to replace the old ones. The order was placed on May 12 and supposed to receive on May 28th. But I didn't get them, so I called. They told me it was on back order and they will call me when they received. When I was about to travel (I often travel in summer), I called again they said "not received". After I traveled back on June 18, they received the glasses. But they didn't call me. Each time I called, they still told me the order was not received. I called again before another travel, they still said "not received" . Before the travel on June 30, I called again, she told me it was received on June 18th. It is very disappointing. I need to leave a review now to let other customers know it. My best wish is Eye Doctor can improve their order process. read more

Prescription was poor after using the glasses for a while. My eye Dr sent me a bill for the eye exam because of an issue with submitting the claim with the insurance. I called an tried to explain the issue and before they tried to resubmit the claim, I was told that I would be sent to collections if the issue wasn't resolved. The effort to get a proper prescription pair of eye glasses wasn't worth it. read more

Dr. Hymowitz is very thorough, knowledgeable, professional, and caring. He also speaks Spanish, which I think is very cool. Everyone else there is really nice too. A couple of years back I was fitted for progressive lenses. Progressive just doesn't work for me. Technically, they didn't have to issue a refund because the lenses were correctly made, but they gave me a full refund anyway. So that's great. read more
