I recently purchased an egg and cheese on a poppy seed bagel from the Brooklyn Bagel location in Totowa, New Jersey. Everything seemed fine until I got to the last bite and discovered a piece of paper on top of my food. I returned the next day to show them what I found, and instead of acknowledging my concern, I was told, "We don't use that paper." I was not looking for a refund, replacement, or anything free. Service is very bad. The lady who made my coffee was very rude. I asked her to fix the coffee because it was cold and tasted like she only gave me a cup of milk. I worked in the area and have ordered from here many times! I was so glad she took over from the old owners, as it is much clean and now their product choice has only increased! Recently, I ran into the owner and she suggested their new weekend ONLY special the - Garlic Butter Stuffed Bagel... and OMG!!! Tomorrow get it before they run out. The bagel (of your choice) is filled with cream cheese, the top is cut into huge bites the drizzled with mouthwatering garlic butter! YUM! If that's not enough baked, so it's nice and warm! This place has been recently updated and it's so welcoming. The staff and (new)managers have excellent customer service, one of the best I've seen, and are so clean and elegant yet bubbly. I would recommend everyone to come here. I go there a couple times a week, and the drive is around 30-40mins long but worth it. I absolutely love all their food/drink choices, and if someone has an allergy they can help recommend or modify your order. I love how they decorate, and keep engaging conversations as well. The food is to die for, anything on the menu is delicious and perfect for its price. If you live close or far it's definitely worth it (if you do live far, it's worth wasting gas money on)! Ok came here since I was at the laundromat nearby. Should have gone to sunrise bagels. But decided to try this one. The place is clean that's why I had to give two stars. But I ordered an egg and cheese bagel on a whole wheat bagel. You can tell the bagel was not fresh it wasn't soft and fluffy like a bagel should be. Went here recently and got two Taylor ham sandwiches. Got home and the meat was rancid. One person got sick. Place went downhill.

It's crazy cause I really use to love this place, I easily spent over 50$ per month every month, however this place has gone completely sideways. You can tell they are greedy and overcharge for everything. One day I spent 15$ and I asked for a plastic cup with ice for my drink and they wanted to charge me for a cup of ice. The service is not as good as people say and this one girl has the most stank look on her face everytime I order. Just your regular town breakfast shop except the service here is wonderful. The lady that works the counter knows most of the people that walk in, if you come there often, and you live in the area, she'll know your name. I've ordered a couple things from here so far and they turned out pretty good. My only complaint is that there aren't that many options. I'd recommend making it a full breakfast menu. You know, the kind where if you've been there three times they know your name? And the bagels and breakfast sandwiches are PERFECT. I've only recently tried the bagels, and had chicken salad, and tuna on a bagel. The chicken salad is my favorite because the tuna had nothing in it, like onion, celery, carrots. I would have given the Brooklyn Bagels 5 Stars, but I asked for a little extra lettuce on my chicken salad, and they charged me extra for IT. In all my many, many years on this planet, no business has ever charged for extra lettuce. How rare is lettuce???? DUH I have to recant. OMG! The bagels were mediocre and the Lox cream cheese had so little lox that it tasted like plain cream cheese (ditto for the olive cream cheese). On the upside.. the service was decently friendly and efficient and the prices are low. So you at least get the meh bagels at a low price. read more

Owner/operator sadly cannot take constructive customer feedback & tells me to go to Boulevard bagels down the street if I'm happier there. Brooklyn doesn't put enuf cream cheese on their bagels so u hv to ask for extra which they charge u for. Most times I lv there with a shmear of CC that barely covers bagel. Also, they precook their breakfast meats then reheat them at time of order so by time u get home, the TAylor ham is like cardboard. This feedback could've helped him but his pride n cockiness got in the way. I've been a customer since they opened but I refuse to give my business to unappreciative business owners.
