The Antipasto Siciliano is always a favorite along with the Frittura Di Pesce. Always love it here . The place does get loud but that's always a great sign. It's also BYOB and there is street and lot parking. I recommend getting a reservation as well. read more

So the 'Let's try something new' is becoming a 'go to'. The BYOB Italian restaurant is small, loud, and always crowded - channel not only the food from Italy. Started with the meat balls - the sauce is unreal. Calamari is still too salty for me but fresh and tasty. I had the carbonara this time and commented if the chef could add a little extra guanciale - he did not disappoint! We also had the pork chop with potatoes and peppers - very moist. We came for a family holiday dinner where I found the food to be quite good but the service was mixed. We were promptly seated and the server brought out some great, homemade, warm bread. One of the better house-made breads I've had. We started off with a few appetizers, the seafood frito misto, the Sicilian mixed appetizer and a pear salad. All were quite good with the Antipasto Siciliano being everyone's favorite. I had a specially made pizza for dinner, which was not on the menu and found that to also be very tasty. The crust had a nice sourdough component and the pizza was not overly loaded with toppings. The main reason I did not give four stars was the staff was constantly clearing plates while other people at the table were still eating. It gave the entire meal a rushed experience. read more

Was delicious had pizza delicious crust! We had 2 different pasta dishes both great & cappuccino one of the best I ever had!! 5 stars across the board! BYOB Service was excellent. Our waitress was informative and gave great suggestions. The portion sizes of the appetizers and meals were huge! I asked for gluten free pasta after not seeing any on the menu and was told they had penne and it could be topped with any sauce they had. It was delicious too! I had grilled salmon as my meal and it came with salad and potatoes on the side. Everyone enjoyed their food. My friend raved about her pear salad. Appetizers were phenomenal - we had stuffed artichokes, mussels, and pear salad - all unbelievably delicious, Main course of beef short ribs ragu, baccalaureate and onions, crab with pasta and shrimp, swordfish, pasta carbonara - everything excellent. Wow! Such an amazing meal. I put together a surprise sprinkle for my cousin and from the reservation process to the end of the meal, everything was great. The staff and owners are extremely friendly and went above and beyond to learn all of our names and use our names when serving us. We chose to do one of their set menus and it was crazy how much came with that. It was family style for apps and first course and then a choice from 2 entrees and it also soft drinks and coffee. They let us bring decorations and a cake and put us in our own area of the restaurant. 3 months ago, I went on my second trip to Italy and discovered the deliciousness that is guanciale (aka pork cheek)! I couldn't believe my tastebuds. In my book, it was better tasting than pancetta and rivaled bacon! Alas, not as common to find here in the U.S. Fast forward to today, I was feeling nostalgic and craving it badly. I was searching for a local and authentic Italian restaurant, and found this gem of a place less than 10 minutes away. Once I saw the menu, I immediately knew what I wanted, which was the carbonara! I felt like I was back in Rome They were generous with their portions of guanciale, which I enjoyed with every bite. It was truly satisfying! What made it a better experience was my waiter, who was kind, friendly, attentive, and made me feel so welcome. I had the rigatoni special with meat sauce and mushrooms. It was in a light cream sauce, nothing short of tasty and worth every penny. The fresh, soft bread that comes out first is also delicious & complementary. We were celebrating my girlfriend's birthday, so we both enjoyed cappuccinos, served hot and strong, just the way I like it. The cream puffs, you get a choice of pistachio, Nutella, or another one. First: I am a fussy, never "5" star review sort. But, I had to! We worked with Frank to host a repast for our mom. We do not live in the area, so we did not know. But, we do know that NJ can have great Italian food-- you just have to know where. This place is so definitely it. The food, staff and service all get rave reviews. We had close to 60 people, with an unbelievably delicious 3 course meal. Staff is easy going, but on top of things. I grew up in NJ, and know that NJ can have great Italian. This place is definitely it. Frank was phenomenal and easy to work with. After a long morning, we couldn't have asked for a better place to be. And, my mom was 100% Italian heritage. Excellent restaurant and Food. BUT DO NOT COME!!!!! There is little parking and may have ti park on the street. Municipal parking signs are inadequate, sparse, and it is easy to park in a no parking area. I parked where there were 3 other cars parked and I never relized there was no parking on the side I parked. The sign was 200 yards away. The restaurant had no warning to this dilemma, which they should. Do not Come and have your wonderful food and evening ruined by a parking ticket. read more

Yummy, We loved the Grilled Octopus. It Is FIRE. If you have ever eaten fried squid or grilled squid, than you know what I am talking about. We had a party of 4 and they greeted and sat us down. Aww, the Octopus was delicious. Tender, juicy and not chewy or dried out. Our first time here. Love the vibe, and the service here by the wonderful folks that work here. The grilled octopus was good but not tender. Maybe a little overcooked. We also had a pasta dish with eggplant (not pictured) thought that was maybe the best thing we had. Wowza this was a surprisingly fantastic meal. Really enjoyed the food and service was excellent. The only reason it didn't get another check, was intolerable noise which made it almost impossible to hear anyone at the table. However, an alternative would be to sit outside... Started with bruschetta which was fantastic and mussels, which were unbelievable I even asked for more bread, which I usually don't do and I almost could've picked up the whole bowl and drank the broth. Tons of garlic too, so beware werewolves. Magnificent... really good. Service was absolutely on point. Silverware replaced, plates replaced, attentive service. I really liked my Bolognese. Swordfish was an incredible plate and delicious. Everyone gave a high mark except for the high-level noise, but will definitely be back hopefully soon. read more

Now I know why my mother has been here three times! Service was great food was great! They had so many specials it's hard to choose! I went with the stuffed calamari and the pasta with a salmon and shrimp white sauce. Wife had the eggplant appetizer special along with one of the pasta specials with red pesto. The bread for the table is fresh! As in they pop a small loaf into the oven and in 15 min you've got a loaf fresh from the oven! Totowa's best kept secret! I've had this little bistro caffe on the radar for a few weeks. Came here for lunch today and I was not disappointed at all. The bread is made in house. Super soft and airy. I ordered their special of day and my sister ordered their Tano Panini. Their food is beyond fresh and extremely tasty. Best panini I've ever tasted! The bacon is not regular bacon. It's more like thin cut pancetta. Also, the grilled chicken is super tender and sliced thinly. Not chunky or dry at all. The pulpo was perfectly cooked, crispy and tender all at once. I am so excited to come back for dinner and become a regular. I have fallen in love. It does not get any better as it was a tough decision between their fresh pasta or a panini but since I was there for lunch with my niece decided to go with the lighter fair.
