Came for Drag Queen Bingo but next time, we'll come for food first and then bingo. We ordered drinks which were served up by friendly chatty servers. The room fairly buzzed with the excitement of potential bingo winners and stories of the wild cat sanctuary that the bingo was supporting. Poison Waters is the best bingo host ever! Parking was a challenge - the parking lot is small and we ended up having to park about a block away. The traffic can be an issue trying to cross busy streets but we lived to tell the tale. I went to the Dogs & Daiquiris event and it was awesome. Tried the classic bacon and cheese and it was messy and delicious. Also tried the chicken battered hot dog, it was crunchy and perfect. I don't remember the names of the daiquiris but they were delightful as well. The place has several good carts with a heathy variety of food from different countries and regions. It's got that weird little triangle-lot energy, tucked in like it owes somebody money. You got an ARCO nearby, traffic buzzing, not exactly screaming "culinary oasis." But then you step in and boom it flips on you. Brand new. Clean. Sharp. They didn't just throw carts in a parking lot and call it a day no, no, no. Somebody cared. There's a legit bar sitting there like it belongs in a different zip code. A game room pool tables, big screens like your cool uncle finally got his life together and opened a hangout. Covered seating, fans spinning, shade everywhere... this is Oregon, man, we respect shade like it's currency. And the carts? All fresh. No rust, no duct tape holding the dream together. These are young guns. Hungry. Trying to prove something. You're on McLoughlin, cars flying by like they late to something important, and then suddenly food paradise. Brooklyn Carreta is becoming one of my favorite food cart pods. It's relatively small, in terms of its footprint, yet the facility packs a lot of amenities and dining options into the space. The parking lot isn't large, but there are a fair number of accessible parking spaces, as well as spots for food delivery drivers. Visitors can also find additional parking in the surrounding neighborhood. I like that the food trucks are covered by shade cloth that also gives a little protection from the rain. The carts are located immediately to the west of the parking lot, and offer a fairly diverse selection of dining options. The venue has alfresco dining options in both a sunny courtyard with beautiful murals and potted plants, as well as a covered area. The indoor dining room and beverage service boasts well made family style tables, restrooms, and a game room with board games and arcade video games. The Dubai chocolate strawberry cup from Worldwide Delights was really chocolate heavy so you run out of berries and are left with Dubai chocolate mush (not too bad for reuse if you have fresh berries at home!) read more

Parking is fairly limited AZ lot may have room for about 20 cars. Residential neighborhood within walking distance if lot gets full. Excellent selection of cuisines represented by: Thai, Cuban, Mex, seafood, Indian, burgers, bubble tea, Japanese, fried chicken, etc. (Check their website for current carts). Thrilled to have a new food cart park close in Portland, with indoor and outdoor tables, a variety of carts, a bar, game room, central courtyard with open skylight, colorful mural and a fire pit, water dispenser, and most important, clean bathrooms! The adjoining lot is very small, so if you get there at 6pm or after, you will have to park across the street and trying to cross SE Holgate is not easy. 4/5 stars for overall ambiance. 3/5 stars for overall food quality. I have eaten here four time already. It's one of the prettiest food pods in PDX! I love the wall decor, open skylight along with covered areas indoor and outdoor to accommodate the on and off seasons of our beloved PNW weather. It's also built with some thought on kids friendly with a little play area. There's arcade section as well. Now on to the food truck. So far I ordered from Havana Station, Bollywood Dhaba, Shawarma House, The Nour Thai Cuisine, Korean Tiger, and Brooklyn Carreta. I'm addicted to the Seaweed & Noodle Roll (5), $6.00 from the Korean Tiger!!!!! I couldn't stop eating them and got them all the four times I came within the last month. They're so delicious and satisfying, well seasoned and balanced with crunchy yet mochi texture of the mung bean/glass/clear noodle. Havana and Nour Thai were okay. Both were cooked with too much oil I could literally feel my arteries coating. The plantain shelves from Havana were dripping with oil at every bite. The Pad Eggplant from Nour Thai was salty, oily, and chewy extra thin cheap cut of beef with fat. The garlic naan from Ballywood Dhaba was too soft in texture for my liking. Their mango lassi is super sweet and no hint of mango flavor. The baklava from Shawarma was okay. Slushy from Brooklyn Carreta was fun with plastic cup that changed to pretty swirl of purple and blue when cold and topped with gummy bear, pricy though for $6 for less than 6oz. The coffee shop inside closed at 2pm daily so I haven't gotten a chance to check it out yet. The main parking lot adjacent to the pod is limited spaces with one way access only. I was at first excited for this new food to spring up after La Carretta sadly closed. First off, parking is not quite the best. Sure there is parking across the street, but it's in the midst of a busy intersection. I arrived and it was definitely busy since it just opened for a few weeks. Seating is somewhat spread out yet feels a little tight at the same time. As for food carts themselves, it has the usual and standard flair you will find in other pods in the city. There is something for everyone but there isn't quite a magic spot that wants me to keep returning. If you want to venture to a pod where there are tons of families and kids running around unsupervised, it may be your cup of tea. It certainly isn't for me and there are easier and better offerings of food pods in the city to explore. I am still sad and still miss La Carretta that was a staple for many years, this food pod just can't replace that special magic. read more

Great new food cart/bar establishment. You go to the carts and there is a huge covered area with tables and games for all ages. Very clean and well organized. It's worth a visit. The only challenge is parking isn't great. There is a lot to the north that helps. We visited the Mr potato cart and the stuffed potatoes were exceptionally good. read more

Such a disappointing experience. I waited in line behind a woman who ordered multiple drinks. Then stepped up and waited. The two bartenders left for a moment to go grab some back stock then one of the bar tenders began to help everyone sitting at the bar first. Then the bartender who was helping the women in front of me went to the opposite side of the bar to help a line that had formed way after. I thought well, I might as well sit down since they seem to be only helping those sitting at the bar. Then the other bartender returns and takes the people who were standing right behind me and then another group. They finally took my order after that and by then I was so upset I put my order in and walked out. Absolutely horrendous Took 20 mins from when I was waiting to get a drink order in. read more

The location is pretty sweet! I was happy to see they had a lot of parking both next to the food cart pod and across the street. The indoor/outdoor concept with covered seating and heaters will be perfect for year round enjoyment and I can already tell this is going to be a great spot for families. The bar staff were very friendly and I'm excited for more food carts to come as they continue to grow. Unfortunately I was disappointed by the famous fish bowl margarita. At $28 it was a bit overpriced for being a batched (I think it was from a keg) cocktail. It was overly sweet and had a strong citric acid flavor. So much goodness here. It was a beautiful evening to be outside. I walked by the carts and decided on Cuban Food. Havana Station had a few tasty looking Miami dishes, including a proper looking Cuban sandwich, but I was craving Ropa Vieja. Placed my order and was handed an electronic pager. The inside and outside seating areas were both crowded, but luckily there were open seats at a communal table. It took a while for the food to be ready. Not drinking right now now, but if I was, there's a full-blown bar inside the building. Decided on a horchata for a drink. When the food was ready I brought my pager back up. Should've asked for it in a to go box because it was a large serving, and I couldn't finish it all. Ended up folding my plate over and taking the rest to go. There are two bathrooms in the outside section. They were clean. Only reason I knocked off one star is because there's not enough parking. Spent 10 minutes driving in circles and finally parked at 24 Hour Fitness. I had just come from the gym so I felt it was OK. Still I worried about being towed. It distracted from my experience and caused rushing when I would've liked to have relaxed and chilled. The food was good, the horchata was great, the ambiance- perfect. I was excited to find a good cart pod while in sales calls in the area. But was very disappointed in the Cuban sandwich, 16 bucks for just the sandwich no fries no plantains and then salty pork, weird sweet pickles and an oddly sweet mustard that did not belong and had a gritty texture that made you feel like you were eating dirt. I will never eat there again and warn others not to bother try to get a space in the itty bitty parking lot. read more

There is decent parking as well most cart pods are terrible for parking but this one has a decent amount of parking. There is seating inside and outside, with a little play area for children. Came to check out this place since it just opened. Airy and spacious there is plenty of space inside and outside to eat. Not all the food carts are open yet. We ate from the sushi burrito place, although it was definitely hard to choose there are so many varieties of options, it was delicious. We had the vegetarian burrito with the cream cheese. There is a bar inside and I was glad to see they had kombucha and mocktails. Will be a great place to hang this summer! read more

First time for me to finally show up here. Got food from Nour Thai Cuisine cart. GREAT SERVICE! Very patient with me and constant sweet smile on his face. Walking me through the choices and keeping track with my gluten free needs. Took food home for mom and brother. We ALL enjoyed it so much. Great service. Kind attitude with me. WILL be back. For sure! I also hope to try the GF Fried Chicken next time. They were closed.... The only "issue" is the parking. I really can't offer a suggestion though. The carreta is in a good place. Who ever was in charge of the interior design of this place needs to study room acoustics because the space here is large, mostly empty and super loud and echo-y.
