I've been to this cat cafe a few times and it's always fun! The cats are super social and will run up to you from anywhere. It's really affordable at $12/adult and even when you add on treats during your visit and donations, it's still pretty cheap. I always leave wanting to bring a little fur friend home, but this visit one cat particularly caught my heart. I didn't catch his name since he didn't have a collar. He was super skittish at first and I could tell he had been through some ROUGH times by the coloring around his mouth and nose. We still got to spend some time together and I got a bunch of snuggles. First time visiting Brooklyn, New York, and I wanted to check out a cat café. This one came up as the most popular and closest, so I decided to swing by. I went on a weekend. At first, I misheard the lady at the front desk and thought it was $50 for a half hour -- I said I'd think about it and left. Came back a bit later, signed the online waiver, and realized I had misheard her: the price was actually $15 for a half hour. Much better deal. Since this was my first cat café, I was a little nervous. I tried petting an orange tabby near the front window, and it swiped at me -- scratch or bite, not sure -- so I backed off. I spent more time with the friendlier cats and especially loved one named Spider Pig (pictured). That cat was wonderful, and if I were local, I'd have adopted it on the spot. Staff confirmed all cats here are adoptable, which is a big plus. Toward the end of my session, I went back to the orange tabby. I saw another visitor offering their hand, and the cat nibbled without really hurting them. So I did the same: open hand, calm gesture. Sure enough, it bit and scratched me a little -- playful, not painful, no blood. I think maybe it's teething, or just a cat with strong boundaries. Didn't want head pats, but seemed interested in grabbing hands. Overall, a great first-time cat café experience. The price was fair, the nonprofit mission is fantastic, and the fact that all cats are adoptable makes the visit worthwhile beyond just the fun. Spider Pig especially stole the show for me. I mean, we're from Jersey and we drive all the way to Brooklyn to go to a cat cafe. Must be good. We initially booked here because there was no lower age limit to play with the cats. Now we just keep coming back. This is a nonprofit, volunteer run cat rescue that also sets up adoptions. If I wasn't actually allergic to cats, I might've considered it. You can book half hour sessions to play with the cats, and you can get treats which make you the most popular people in the room. There are lots of really cool platforms and things mounted to the wall that the cats love to climb, and also cat toys that you can use to play with the cats. There are plenty of cats to play with, and a bunny, and mice, and turtles. We booked three sessions in a row and the staff was extremely nice and took us to the kitchen area in the back where they had some absolutely adorable kittens. Seriously, if I wasn't allergic and needed to pop an antihistamine before coming here, we probably would have already adopted a cat. read more

I came here with some younger relatives, and they all loved it. There was a small pen at the entrance with young kittens that were super adorable. And then they had normal cats all around the place. Most of them were pretty friendly, some were asleep, and some loved the attention they were getting. I genuinely don't think I've ever experienced that level of hostility from someone in a service setting, especially at a place that's supposed to feel cute and wholesome. Took the kids here during spring break because even tho we have cats at home, we love that this cat cafe is a non profit helping cats find homes! I was happily surprised to see they also have rabbits and turtles! We tried to add on as much as possible in terms of buying snacks and drinks for humans and treats for cats, to give some extra monetary support to this great place. What an awful establishment. I should have read all the reviews before coming here with my daughter. This cat cafe is poorly managed. As reviews in the past have stated, every half hour, large groups of people are let into a tiny cafe to pet cats who just want to sleep because they are exhausted from being harassed all day. When we came here right at our entrance ticket time, we were hit with a line of people waiting to enter the cafe. I was shocked at how many people were sitting to enter...probably about 10-12 people. There was this old lady at the entrance who was very rude. She was guarding the door to make sure cats would not escape, which I can understand. But, on the way out, she was responding to let me and my toddler out of the establishment. She blocked the entire door and refused to open it. She started asking my toddler to do all these things like pick up a cat toy, etc. and I understand you want things left in an orderly manner. But, my toddler felt unsafe and wanted to leave and the lady wouldn't let her or me do so. I've been to many cat cafes even in Japan. I have never experienced this type of hostile treatment. My husband had to go to the cafe and talk to the manager to complain. The manager was apologetic but that's about it. To add to the chaos, I was double charged after booking our tickets on their website. I highly recommend going to a different cat cafe. I normally don't write reviews, but I feel compelled after seeing how this organization handled a volunteer and how they responded when people tried to call it out. Recently, a volunteer named Luna shared screenshots of emails she received from the coordinator, Sonja, and the founder. Another reviewer here already described her story in detail and attached those screenshots, so I won't repeat everything--but what stood out to me was that the organization openly admitted they acted on an "educated guess" when accusing Luna of being hostile. When she tried to explain and defend herself, the response was dismissive, personal, and unprofessional. Instead of taking responsibility for a mistake, management doubled down and framed her defense as resignation. When I wrote a Google review about this situation, the owner responded not by addressing the evidence (the emails Luna herself posted), but by deflecting and attacking me personally. They insisted I was "friends" with Luna, even though I have never met her--I only read her story online. Their response was to shame me, rather than provide any proof that Luna was in the wrong. Such defensiveness tells me a lot about how they deal with criticism. (I attached my review and the response I get in the screenshot). To be clear: I have not volunteered or visited this cafe, and after seeing how they treat volunteers and how they respond to community feedback, I would never want to. Cute cats don't make up for dismissive, unprofessional management. Super cool fun place to visit! So much fun! And all for a good cause! Helping out animals in need. All cats are available for adoption. It costs $10 for half and hour for timed tickets. The time goes so fast, I suggest buying an hour. You need to pre-order slots online to get in. Also make sure to sign the online waiver, which is for any possible injuries caused by the cats. I've found most of them to be super duper friendly and oh so cute. The more possibly aggressive cats are indicated by a red collar. But I played with them and they seemed quite friendly. Small children should be careful though. They also sell treats to feed the cats. All the workers here were so helpful and nice. Atmosphere. It feels like hanging out in a cozy loungy comfy cafe! There is no people food here though. There are sofas and seating all around, so get comfy and hang out with cats! They are free to wander around, sniffing, playing and looking to be petted. There are a mix of adult cats and little kittens. There are lots of different active cats to play with, unlike some other cat cafes that only had a few and half of them only wanted to sleep. If you are looking to adopt a cat/ kitten, this place is a great place to look. You can play with the cats and see if there is a connection. So many cute faces here. Hard to resist. Final note: A nice way to spend an afternoon! Come by and play with some cats and maybe adopt 1 or 2 cuties and give them a home! This is also close to the Brooklyn promenade. So adorable! Love this Brooklyn cafe. I didn't drink any coffee but I did play with the cats! The space was clean with a slight wet cat food/litter box smell (if you know, you know) but with all the cats they have, the smell really wasn't an issue. All the cats were sweet with color coded collars. Some couldn't eat treats due to food allergies some were a bit "spicy" in temperament. I love that the cafe gives people the chance to play with these sweet animals and eventually adopt/foster them. When I came home, my two (hairless) cats knew that I cheated on them. If I wasn't allergic to cat hair (don't judge), I would be that crazy cat lady with dozens of cats. When I'm back in Brooklyn, I would definitely pay this cafe a visit. read more

Oh my god SO MANY CATS. I must have seen at least 30... I reserved two 30min slots, $10 each, and completed their waiver beforehand so entering was very easy. I can see how this was a cafe before (not anymore because of covid). They didn't check my vaccination card, but they made sure that everyone had their mask on correctly and over the nose. There is a storage bin right when you enter so that you don't have all your things covered in cat hair. The staff were all very friendly and organized. I liked that they color coded the cats with a bit more spicier personalities with red collars (don't approach unless they do) and cats with diet restrictions with a yellow collar (don't feed them treats). So obviously, I was very excited when a cat with a red collar approached me and my friend. Treats are 25c a cup, but I'd actually avoid spending it because there were a lot of treats scattered everywhere and someone actually gave me their treats because their hour was up. Also you don't need the treats, I want to say that ALL of their cats were very friendly and didn't need treats to incentivize them. My favorite was Mr. Bunny, who let me hold him. :) All of the cats were very friendly and playful, and you can see kittens near the front too. You can't play with them though, they have to be reserved separately! So cute and the hour flew by. A lot of people say that they feel bad that they can't take them home, but I think it's still helpful that you were able to help socialize them and play with them. Time might have been short to you, but it definitely makes a difference in their lifetime. Cutest cafe I've ever been too, didn't get any drinks or anything but didn't matter to me. The staff were super sweet, funny, and even though they had to run us through some safety procedures and information they made sure we knew it wouldn't take from our time. The cats were super sweet and will all flies over to you if you have treat's. I didn't buy any treats and decided to directly donate to them instead but if your patient you will still find cats to hangout with. My only tips are fine a nice seat and let the cats approach you, if Ricky or Kraken is still there make sure to show them some extra love and consider adopting! Also come early to your appointment time because it seems to get a bit more busy as time goes on and it might be a bit harder to find a place to sit. This place was so cute! I reserved a 30 minute session ($10 per person) to see the cats and honestly it didn't feel like enough time :'( the cats were so cute! In the future I definitely want to reserve and plan for a longer time. They did say we could stay longer if there's space (there would be additional charges) but we had plans so we didn't extend our time. The place had cats by the windows and most of them were sleepy but there was one cat that was playful and I enjoyed playing with him! There were a lot of cats all over. The place felt a little small but you are able to find a seat and get to pet or play with a cat if they feel comfortable around you. I think the best approach is to slowly let them get to know you and not just wave around a toy lol. I would see this a lot but even then cats still were lovable and some really enjoyed the treats and would come to you for that lol. I would come here again if I was from the area! This is the best cat cafe in New York City! We have been to Koneko, Meow Parlor, and now Brooklyn Cat Cafe! There are sooo many cats here, and most of them are very social (even the ones with red collars which as supposed to be more cranky). The space is one long room, and there are many cat playgrounds and toys to interact with. It really makes a difference that all the cats are in one place and that there are just so many. The cats have a resting area in the back, and even some encouraged nap time areas. Its $12 for 30 minutes, which is pretty comparable to the other spots. Highly recommend! read more

This was a great cat cafe! I made a reservation for a half hour slot at 1 pm on a Saturday. There were maybe 7 or 8 other people in there at the time but it never felt crowded. The inside is pretty spacious, more long than it is wide, but there are lots of spaces to sit and play with the cats. All of the cats seemed very calm and well cared for. A few of the younger ones were very playful. I love that they work with rescues to get all of the cats adopted. The permanent mascot, Newt, was so adorable, too! This place had the most cats out of all the cat cafés I've visited. Inside had at least 30 cats, although a number of them were kept in a separate space because of lack of vaccination or socialization training. You can request to meet any one of them for adoption interests. Name is a bit of a misnomer in that there are no drinks and treats for either humans or cats. However, do bring quarters for the cat food dispenser, limit one per customer. Knife, a piebald domestic short hair cat, smartly lucked at the bar counter the entire time. He would then immediately rush over the moment somebody turned the knob. Many cats slept by the window facing the sidewalk, but three black kittens were extremely eager to play. Audrey, a black domestic short hair kitten, was super curious and friendly. It was neat that the cats could wear color-coded collars to help indicate needs such as dietary restrictions or social practices. Cost is $10 for 30 minutes, each session open to a dozen or so people. Walk-ins may be permitted subject to space availability. I recommend reserving a timeslot in advance as we came early to our 2 PM Saturday reservation and were told to return a bit later so as to not overwhelm the cats since it was crowded already. Me and my boyfriend were literally standing by the door a good 5 minutes before a guy approached us telling us to fill out the waiver on the tablet. It's $8 per half hour. You go in and immediately greeted by a very affectionate and lovable dog. There are lots of cats. The cats that wear a red collar, you do NOT touch. You wait until they approach you, or they will claw off your face. No it didn't happen to me 3 times and my bf scolded me to not harass the cats. For the most part, most of the cats are napping and don't really care about you. The kittens are really energetic and active. My time here was wonderful, I loved petting the cats and spending time in their presence. Although it's a cat cafe it doesn't serve food or drinks for people. They sell lots of souvenirs, masks are mandated if you don't have one they'll give you one for 1$. You have to fill out one waiver per person. They allow appointments and walk ins. It's 10$ per 30 minutes. I will say I'm disappointed with how many people they allow in at once, it wasn't until the last few minutes of my stay I was able to interact more with the cats because everyone had a cat they where hogging. You can adopt cats from here however some are not up for adoption. The cats that have dietary restrictions have a yellow collar and the ones who have tendencies to scratch/bite have red collars. Final thoughts: I loved it however; they should have a limit of how many people can be inside so people can get their moneys worth and have a chance to connect with the cats. Further more it should not be called a cat cafe as it's not a cafe, maybe "Cat Palace" or "Cat Playtime". I'd recommend going at least once to see all the different animals not just cats! The interior decoration is super homey compared to the other cat cafes in nyc. I encountered a cat that was aggressive but they didn't have a collar that indicated so, so I was upset that they nicked me even though I didn't even touch them. I guess I just got too close for comfort for the cat... The machine that allows us to give them treats (one per person) is such a nice idea. We get to entice the cats to come to us! Came in last minute at 6:25 with a mission to pet some cute cats! There were so many precious bbs, some sleeping, some hiding out behind the furniture, and others just walking around. You're able to play with them with their various toys they have available, and there's a bathroom in the back of the room. They also have cute stickers, charms and Knick knacks you can purchase. Tickets are $10 per hour and masks are mandatory (however they did not ask about vaccinations so I'm assuming it isn't mandatory). They're a non-profit organization run by volunteers so I totes recommend you either foster, adopt or donate to their cause of trying to keep stray cats off the streets! The cats that are in crates are meant to be as they either have specific food allergies or are adjusting to being around other cats. Some cats too have specific collars that meant they rather be left alone or are more "catty" in their moods hehe. They even have private cat parties available! The woman at the entrance was very good at managing the customers that came in, there were a few staff members around the cafe that were happy to assist you if you wanted to know more about the cats or wanted to adopt a cat or wanted a private room and overall very helpful and friendly. The staff were also caring for the cats well being and health requirements, and for the cats they were interactive, playful and the ones sleeping were chill with you petting them. There is also rabbits, rats and turtles if you're interested in adopting those. The only concern is there is limited amount of people that can come in at a time so make a reservation. We're from queens and this place is far in Brooklyn, but we're big cat fans and became obsessed with cat cafes after stumbling upon the one in Charleston, so it was worth the trek. We called the day-of but found out they don't take same day reservations, so we did a walk-in which was $7 for every half-hour. I like the idea of getting a sticker with a time stamp rather than having a strict time frame on the hour (i.e. so when we arrived at 330 we didn't have to wait until 4). We were shocked at the big space/ different rooms and there were TONS of cats (maybe 30)... oh and a small minority of bunnies and rats (what!?). Compared to the cat cafe we loved in Charleston, they had no name tags... it was so cute and more personal to know the gender and the name with name tags to bond with the cat but we left not knowing any of their names here! However they did have red collars if they were a little more feisty/shouldn't be picked up so this was good as a warning. Not as important, but as a good idea from Charleston-I wish they had some kind of snack/drink deal with entry. Came here with a friend who is obsessed with cats. Since this place is in my neighborhood we decided to give it a shot. Since we visited during covid, you must reserve ahead of time online. Pretty seamless booking wise. It is $10 per person for 30 mins. When you arrive, they ask you to put on hand sanitizer and then they over some general rules, after that you are free to roam. Now here is where it gets honest. The first thing you smell when you enter is plain weird. A mix of wet food, cat, must and ammonia. Thank goodness I was wearing 2 masks to help keep the stench at bay. There are not many cats freely roaming. I want to say there were maybe 3-4 and over 10 people in there trying to pet the same cat while social distancing, kind of an oxymoron. I think we spent a total of 12 mins before we had to excuse ourselves for some fresh air. The mission of this place is awesome and all cats are up for adoption. This review is purely just based on the service, I didn't get a chance to actually experience playing with the wonderful kitties. A friend and I had booked their game night event to play games and play with the cats. On the day of the event we get an email 5 hours before that the event is now cancelled, and if we like to still play with cats we can book a reservation. This was such a bummer since we planned our day around the area and this was such a last minute notice. There was no mention about refunding us back for them cancelling the event. So we tried emailing and calling in but only got automatic responses. Since we were going to be in the area, I dropped by the cat cafe and spoke to the employee about getting a refund. She took down my info and said she would tell her manager, who would get back to us in a couple of days and should also be getting a refund since they were the ones who cancelled. It's been over a week, and we still haven't heard back. We had to contact our credit card company to submit a claim for this, which came back faster than waiting to hear back from this cat cafe. This is very unfair, if you are providing a service and you cancel the service, you should be refunding your customers and not make them jump through hoops trying to reach you. The cafe itself might be cute, but their clinical operations are an absolute mess. We had an appointment to get some basic testing done on a new rescue who is the most chill cat I've ever met. One hour after we dropped him off for his supposedly 10 minute appointment, the staff claimed that they were unable to perform any necessary work because he was "unhandleable" and uncooperative. They then tried to send us home with a completely different cat. I find it absolutely insane that an operation that's supposed to function as a rescue can be so disorganized as to blantantly mix up people's cats and their problems.
