Located in Kelso near other businesses, like Safeway and restaurants, we checked in at night on a Saturday and found that there were many other guests staying here too. Check in was an easy process. We stayed on the third floor (there are only three floors) with a king size bed and a wet bar. Our room had a mini fridge, toiletries, coffee maker, AC, free wifi, and it was spacious with the wet bar area and a table for where you could dine. What was nice about staying here was that they offered a complimentary continental breakfast. But they have not opened their pool or hot tub since COVID-19. The gym is open though. Our stay was comfortable. If you're looking for an updated, modern, renovated hotel that's luxurious then look elsewhere because GuestHouse is not that. You can tell it's an older building; however, they provided all that we needed and more. No complaints.

There are 4 rooms for rent and you share 2.5 bathrooms. I never had any issues using the bathrooms when I needed! Everything was kept clean! There is also a small kitchen area where there are items available. I however did not eat anything since I was eating my way around town! Soo many options and not enough stomach space . After some online research, I found the Everett Street Guesthouse and decided this was the place for us. It is a small B&B with two rooms in the house and a small studio cottage out back. Terry, the owner, was very helpful when making the arrangements and was very accomadating of my dietary restrictions. She was there to greet us when we arrived at the house and she gave us a tour of the property and introduced us to the lovely house cat Sophie. We stayed in the Wellfleet room which was spacious and had a comfortable bed and large closet to store all our junk. The bathroom, which we shared with one other person, was very nice and very clean. We peeked at the other bedroom before the guest arrived and it too, was very nice. The rooms aren't frilly but are decorated to be comfortable and relaxing. I would describe the house as comfy, spacious and inviting. The artwork throughout the house is eclectic, whimsical and ethnic in origin. It was fun to poke around and discover all the treasures that Terry has scattered throughout the public rooms. The breakfast consisted of fresh fruit salad, juice, coffee and tea and some other entree. One day it was homemade granola which was excellent and we have now made at home. Another day was a breakfast panini. Over all we were very happy with the breakfast. Like the rooms, it is good but not fancy. The one negative thing we experienced while in Portland was a blazing hot heat wave. It was 97 and 98 degrees on a couple of the days and while it was cool in the living room, the upstairs bedrooms did not cool off at night and so it was hard to sleep. Terry did have the AC on but because it was the first time she'd needed to run it this summer, she didn't know until the holiday weekend that the AC wasn't running properly. The neighborhood around the Everett Street Guesthouse is nice, with lots of older homes and is very close to 28th St with loads of good restaurants and a cheap second run movie theatre. My husband and I enjoyed several delicious meals at La Buca (Italian) and then popped around the corner to watch a movie for $3 each. Awesome! In summary, one feels more like a house guest than tourist at the Everett Street Guesthouse. We really enjoy Portland and we enjoyed our B&B as well. Will we return to the Everett Street Guesthouse? You bet! We would also recommend it to our family and friends. It is a lovely little gem in a lovely little city!

There is another room on the 3rd floor. St. John Suite is very spacious with 2 balconies, 2 closets, double vanities, one large walk in shower with 2 shower heads on opposite ends. The common area on the first floor is very charming (mostly). Kinda made me feel like I was in a movie, the floor/stairs creak, the decor can make you feel creeped out. There's on site parking which was wonderful but the entrance can be easily missed in the dark. There are "linen closets" in the hallways if you need more towels and toiletries. There is a washer dryer in the basement which was convenient.

I really appreciated that my 4-bed, all-female room only had me and one other person in it throughout my 4-night stay. I appreciated they don't try to cram the rooms full. I really liked that the bathrooms are private. Each floor has 4 private bathrooms, each with a shower. Each bad has its own bed lamp, charging station, and personal fan. There aren't any bed curtains, though. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is great and only a 10-20 minute walk into the city. Street parking is available for less than $5 a day. Would choose to come back and stay here again!

When I asked the other "guests" they said all of the furniture was from a second hand store, so I had to clean the bed and sheets. The down stairs laundry room had a leak that was never repaired and smelled of mold. I stayed 6 months after I did a through cleaning and when I moved out he would not refund my deposit. The price is right, but the place needs a serious cleaning. Beware of what you are getting into, the roommates are great and everyone leaves you alone, the place is just in need of a serious cleaning, I am still dealing with respiratory issues from the air.

Doesn't matter, heavy traffic will keep you awake anyway. AC is non existent, he turns it off whenever he's no longer warm, you can't control AC, neighbors kept their door open all night it was so warm, eventhough it's not safe to do so. Awful experience. NEVER AGAIN!
