Stayed here over the weekend and we loved it! Stayed in the St. John's suite and it was lovely. Great location, walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again

If you're looking for the Ultimate Bed and Breakfast experience, with the gourmet chef and Laura Ashley linen.. this is not the place. Think of this as a place where a friend of a friend lent you their house key, told you to just let yourself in, sleep there, clean up after yourself, and then let yourself out... This place really is a Bed and a Breakfast (do it yourself breakfast). No frills, no housekeeping. Here's the Pro and Con of choosing this Guesthouse. Pros - Inexpensive, compared to the hotels in downtown Portland. $135 to $150 a night. - Quiet, and not too far from downtown (15-29 min by car) - No tv (but that could be a deal breaker for some) - Free wifi and a computer in the common area - Free parking - Close to great eateries off Division Street Cons - No welcome host, never bumped into any staff member once. Our greeting was a note on the bed, with "instructions" on what do to. Never even saw someone to check out. - No gourmet breakfast. So if you think this is Napa Valley, think again. It's DIY breakfast with boxes of cereals on the shelf, help yourself to bagels, scones, muffins in the fridge, and also in the fridge are cartons of yogurt, milk, juice, peanut butter, cream cheese and butter. Not sure how fresh the bread and pastries were either. - No room housekeeping. They don't make your bed, and if you need fresh towels, there's a linen closet on the 2nd floor where you can help yourself. - No tv (may be deal breaker or blessing) The location is not that accessible to downtown unless you take a bus or car. We had a car and it took 15 minutes to cross over to the downtown area. However, there's a lot of restaurants within a 15-20 minutes walking distance, including the famous Portland Food Carts off Division Street... saving you a trip going downtown. They have a big Costco size shampoo in the shower, and a small bar of soap. It's best if you BYO soap and shampoo. Overall its a comfortable place. If the host had just made his presence known once, even to greet us at breakfast, or when we checked out, I would give this 4 solid stars. Like I said, its like a friend of a friend lent me their housekeys and said "let yourself in" and when you're done, just leave the keys in the room.

This is my 4th time here and I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Portland. I've stayed downtown before and it's awful. SE Portland is the place to hang and Evermore is the place to stay while hanging. Somehow, they just get it right. The rooms, breakfast and fresh coffee, everything is done well. All the rooms are nice, however I'm partial to the 3rd floor suite. Double balcony and a ball and claw tub make this room spectacular. The bathroom also has a large double sized shower.

First stop on our babymoon PNW road trip. Very old historic home that has been transformed into a B&B. We had the third floor suite which was HUGE! Checking in was strange as there were no employees and the directions for finding our room were a little vague. Great location for us and parking was not an issue at all. Only compliant here is for a B&B I expected breakfast in the morning and we were saddened to find out that they only offered muffins or fruit as breakfast. We ended up having to go out to breakfast every morning which is what I would expect from a hotel not a B&B

I absolutely loved this guesthouse. I've never stayed in a guesthouse or B&B before but figured it'd be the perfect place to stay for an authentic Portland experience. My husband and I stayed four nights in the third floor suite and would absolutely stay in this guesthouse again. The room was large, open, and clean. There were two private balconies and a very large modern bathroom. I enjoyed a good soak in the claw-foot tub and the large shower had two shower heads. The room also had a mini fridge which was very convenient. The communal areas were clean and comfortable. The only non-perfect part of my stay was fighting through the other guests for coffee each morning which I was only able to successfully do one of the four days. There is one slow coffee pot for the whole house which was full the entire time we were there. I suggest either a second coffee pot or something like a Keurig machine. However, this was only a tiny thing and doesn't affect my overall opinion of the guesthouse. I highly recommend!

Awesome place to stay! I only wish we had gotten to Portland a little sooner so i could have enjoyed the house more. The accommodations were clean and checkin was a breeze. We will definitely stay here again sometime!

Comfy, low-key, you can stay and never even see the inn-keeper. Good location near Division, close to Hawthorn. Comfortable bed. Nice morning food sampling, strong coffee.

She would make an amazing manager and I genuinely hope that she gets recognized as an amazing asset to her team and truly should be considered to be the manager. Upon entering my room, there was urine stains on the toilet, trash all on the floor, beds not clean, and most disturbingly, c** stains on the floor and toilet. We went to the desk to ask for a new room. We were placed in 214. Unlocked the door with our room key, and to our UNPLEASANT SURPRISE, there were folks in the bed doing DRUGS and someone in the shower. We ran out to the front. We grabbed our stuff and asked for a refund. Jazz had to call Kayla for assistance. This is where things get worse. KAYLA the "manager" was the most rude, uncaring, unhelpful, and disrespectful manager I have ever had the displeasure to come into contact with. I want KAYLAS AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE, COMPLETE LACK OF EMPATHY, AND AWFUL CARE OF THIS PROPERTY TO BE INVESTIGATED. She asked "well what's wrong with the room we gave you?" As if we didn't explain it to her twice. She then asked why we wanted to leave, which makes absolutely no sense considering this place is UNSAFE due to lack of CONSIDERATION OF PRIVACY!!!!! We said, we don't want anyone walking into our room in the middle of the night. She said that would be impossible- well obviously it wasn't. She was also very rude to her assistant manager who was going the absolute best she could to help us. KAYLA should not have been disrespectful to Jazz at all. Jazz was the only good thing in that hotel. Kayla was absolutely awful and will steer any business they ever get away. Kayla made us jump through extra hoops to even get our refund. Which btw, we still haven't gotten. STEER AWAY!!! DO NOT COME HERE. MANAGEMENT: fire Kayla. For the sake of your business!!!! Jazz would be amazing manager.

After some online research, I found the Everett Street Guesthouse and decided this was the place for us. It is a small B&B with two rooms in the house and a small studio cottage out back. Terry, the owner, was very helpful when making the arrangements and was very accomadating of my dietary restrictions. She was there to greet us when we arrived at the house and she gave us a tour of the property and introduced us to the lovely house cat Sophie. We stayed in the Wellfleet room which was spacious and had a comfortable bed and large closet to store all our junk. The bathroom, which we shared with one other person, was very nice and very clean. We peeked at the other bedroom before the guest arrived and it too, was very nice. The rooms aren't frilly but are decorated to be comfortable and relaxing. I would describe the house as comfy, spacious and inviting. The artwork throughout the house is eclectic, whimsical and ethnic in origin. It was fun to poke around and discover all the treasures that Terry has scattered throughout the public rooms. The breakfast consisted of fresh fruit salad, juice, coffee and tea and some other entree. One day it was homemade granola which was excellent and we have now made at home. Another day was a breakfast panini. Over all we were very happy with the breakfast. Like the rooms, it is good but not fancy. The one negative thing we experienced while in Portland was a blazing hot heat wave. It was 97 and 98 degrees on a couple of the days and while it was cool in the living room, the upstairs bedrooms did not cool off at night and so it was hard to sleep. Terry did have the AC on but because it was the first time she'd needed to run it this summer, she didn't know until the holiday weekend that the AC wasn't running properly. The neighborhood around the Everett Street Guesthouse is nice, with lots of older homes and is very close to 28th St with loads of good restaurants and a cheap second run movie theatre. My husband and I enjoyed several delicious meals at La Buca (Italian) and then popped around the corner to watch a movie for $3 each. Awesome! In summary, one feels more like a house guest than tourist at the Everett Street Guesthouse. We really enjoy Portland and we enjoyed our B&B as well. Will we return to the Everett Street Guesthouse? You bet! We would also recommend it to our family and friends. It is a lovely little gem in a lovely little city!
