Ordered carryout for the first time last night. We had one white pizza and one regular. Pizza was excellent. Fresh ingredients, plenty of cheese and above average crust. First time here. Short wait time for inside seating. Ordered an appetizer and 2 large pizzas. Appetizer came after the pizza and only because had to ask for it. Pizza was average. Sausage pizza had thin slices of sausage and did not have that full rich taste . Appetizer (garlic knots) was undercooked. Went to order a cold hoagie at 7:45pm and they closed at 8:00pm. They refused to serve us. Even though we told them that it was a to go order. Why would they post their hours as 8:00pm. They actually told us that they closed 15 minutes ago. They should post their hours as closed at 7:30 instead of 8:00pm. This is a piss poor business that we will never go to again. read more

We moved to PGI last fall and were very happy to discover Brooklyn Joe's so close to our home. Being from the NY tri state area, we are pretty particular about our pizza. This little pizza place really delivers excellent pizza. The one thing I think they're really missing out on is having slices available more often. I think the cut off is 3 PM and if you go in anywhere close to that time you're probably out of luck. Which is too bad since it's not a big deal to have one pie for slices and would make many of the customers happy and keep them stopping by to "run in and grab a slice" when they're in a hurry. But as I started this review, so I'll end on the same note, the pizza itself is very good. read more

We ate here for the first time a few days ago. We arrived a few minutes before they were going to close and they willingly accommodated us. The waitress was great very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. I had the Stromboli and it was delicious and a good size for sharing. My wife had the Eggplant Rotolinni (sp) appetizer we split it and it was great. My brother in law had pizza and it was great too. I highly recommend this place and we will go again tonight with more family that is in town for a baseball tournament. read more

My first experience was red clam sauce which was served with white instead. I politely sent it back and expected a new meal, instead it came back to me with a ladle of red sauce on top of the oil. That was several months ago. Tonight I gave them another chance and ordered an eggplant Parmesan dinner. I was told 20 to 25 minutes. I arrived in 16 minutes for pick up. I got it home, one block away, and It was COLD and it was also very dry for lack of enough sauce. So disappointing!! No more chances, I've learned my lesson. There's another place in town where I buy eggplant Parmesan and it is twice the distance but when I bring it home it's hot and has a generous portion of sauce. I just thought that I would give this local place another try, what a mistake. read more

Pizza was okay. But you can get a $12/ unlimited topping pizza at Pioneers Pizza in Port Charlotte. Instead of paying per topping here. My first time I was here the owner or manager was very rude to his employee who made an easy mistake. He talked down about his employee to the table where the mistake was made. Very unprofessional. Then proceeded to tell the employee she will "pay for all the mistakes she's made out of her pocket". Not cool. I will never give this place my business again. read more

Not a great experience. Ordered a 14" "Gourmet" The Works pizza. It had a few pieces of pepperoni, NO sausage, some mushrooms and green pepper and LOTS of onions. Not worth the money. On top of that, they added a 19% gratuity PLUS a $3.00 delivery charge and we are less than 5 minutes away! The total was even incorrect that they asked me to pay. WOW. We read the reviews before visiting today. Typically they were mixed so we figured we would see for ourselves. It wasn't busy when we got there, easily found a table. Our server was very friendly and prompt. We ordered two pizzas, didn't take too long for them to appear at our table. They were twelve inch pies, thin crispy crusts. Bottom line, they were tasty, but over priced at $12 per pie. So for us...been there, done that. read more

Was mildly insulted about my heritage as I waited for an inordinate amount of time for the new pie. By far the best pizza around. The staff is friendly and service is prompt. I am so happy to have Brooklyn Joes in Punta Gorda. My family and I have eaten here a dozen times. We walked in at 8pm to sit and grab dinner. We were greeted and told to sit wherever we would like. There were 3 of us so we choose one of the 4 tops. The young woman who served us explained that she was cleaning up and asked us to move to another table. The other tables were 2 tops. It was a tight fit but we made it work. We ordered a pizza and chicken parm. As usual, we asked for 2 additional side salads. The waitress (Jennifer), explained that they do not offer this and we would have to choose from the entrée versions on the menu. I thought this super unusual as we have ordered side salads on every other dining experience here. It was like just being there was a super inconvenience for her. She asked the kitchen, and indeed we were able to order side salads. When they arrived, the salad was filled with brown lettuce, full of rust. You couldn't miss it! And she willingly served it this way! I started wondering what other ingredients might not be fresh. We asked for straws and they were thrown on the table. This was a miserable experience. The other staff stood at the setae eating pizza. When we were ready to go, we asked for a box for the remaining pizza. Upon getting home, I took the leftovers and put them in a bag to stay fresh. The pizza was all soggy and wet; I could have wrung the slices out. It's like the waitress intentionally spilled water in the box. It wasn't even 15 minutes later. I was willing to look past the experience until this. I DON'T THINK THE OWNER WAS PRESENT. I can't imagine Joe would be excited about the staff's behavior. It's disappointing because the food is always good. Perhaps the waitress was annoyed that we came in at 8pm (even though they weren't closing for another hour). First time I ordered the pizza was excellent as was the lasagna was perfect. Last night I placed another order for another Sicilian pizza with banana peppers and pineapple. The pizza was tasteless, the pineapple ran through on stilts and there was not one banana pepper to be found. The pizza tasted like cooked dough with some sauce and cheese. Very disappointed but that's what happens after a business becomes established. Quality goes out the window. Here I thought I found a restaurant with excellent food that delivers.
