I don't usually give five stars, but this place really impressed me. We sat at the outdoor bar, and Ross, our bartender, was fantastic--super friendly and attentive. I ordered a Bloody Mary, and my husband had a beer. The Bloody Mary was exactly how I like it--perfectly made and delicious. For food, I had the lobster benedict, and the lobster was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. My husband ordered the "Beef on weck" (not sure on the spelling), and he really enjoyed it--added a little horseradish and called it a win. It did get a bit sunny, but they brought out bar awning to keep things comfortable, which was a nice touch. My husband and I stopped by Tamiami Tavern for the first time for a quick dinner. The atmosphere has an Irish pub feel, and the décor is sparse. Both the hostess and our waitress were very friendly and welcoming. Our drinks were brought out quickly after we were seated. The Mountain Dew tasted almost like pure syrup, which made it difficult to enjoy. We ordered the Tavern Steak Hoagie with French fries, and I also had a bowl of lobster bisque. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet our expectations. The lobster bisque was extremely salty. The steak hoagie was small and wasn't what we expected for $24. We've enjoyed many steak and cheese hoagies over the years, and this one left us disappointed. Overall, the service and atmosphere were the highlights of our visit. If you are so strick on your allowance with pets, you should only restrict to service animals only! Very hurt , humiliated and quite frankly embarrassing in front of other customers by the gentleman working there telling me to keep things belonging to my pet off the table! Then they slammed down a laminated set of RULES listing all the DON'TS! Someone mentioned it was a health law!? Either you allow the pets or you don't but don't put all these rules! I've never seen anyone do this!?? Help me out here! If you don't want pets, just say so, service animals only! I ended up leaving your establishment never to return! I have a small Maltese in a small stroller and a most friendly, loving dog! Half the time, he's asleep Save customers the humiliation and even if you say pet friendly, say no pets please! Came here for dinner with my parents on a Saturday night and it was really good. Service was friendly and the food was great. We shared the pretzel bites which weee SO good, soft and warm with 2 different dipping sauces: cheese and mustard. I had the special which was a bourbon glazed salmon and I switched out the asparagus for green beans. The salmon was cooked perfectly (our waitress suggested medium which is my preferred temperature on salmon). It was really delicious. The rice pilaf was good too. The green beans could've used some seasoning but overall I really enjoyed my meal. This place is so cute inside, the main part is a wraparound bar with plenty seating, everything is wood which gives it a cozy and very rustic feeling. Our first visit here. I have heard so many raves about this restaurant, we had to go. Went on a Saturday about 4:45pm. We were seated right away. When we left an hour later, line was out the door! Looks like a tavern. Tends to sound pretty noisy. Having said that, the food was excellent. My husband got the Blazin Shrimp Tacos and I ordered the Beef on a Wreck and fries. Finally got here for an early dinner. I'm not sure what was going on because the hostess kept looking around on where to seat us. Bar was full, restaurant was not. It took a while to have our drink order taken and just as long to place our food order. I got the French onion soup with the steak sandwich, Wife got the light side fish and chips. Soup was delicious, steak sandwich was just ok. Wife's fish and chips was huge. Fish was good and hot, fries were warm . Really wanted a bison burger but was not paying $28 for a bison burger when I can get one for $19 at the burger r bar. So for that I dropped them a star. My parents live in the area and this is their fav. They do not take reservations, so my suggestion is to call ahead and join the wait list before you head that way. Once you arrive, be prepared to wait... but it's worth it. The service and food are excellent. They move people through fairly quickly. We had the TamTav potato balls for a starter. Beef Sandwiches Were A HitWe have always been happy with their food on previous visits. Not so this time with the Chicken Nachos appetizer ($12.00 base, add $4.00 for the chicken). I typically order nachos to have as my dinner and our server assured me that the portion would meet my needs. Indeed, it is a large portion and it looks really appetizing, but appearances don't tell you about taste. The large plate had a mound of corn chips, topped with grilled chicken pieces, roasted corn, pico de gallo, pickled red onion, fresh jalapeño slices (not pickled) and their house Blazin' spicy cream sauce. It was supposed to have avocado and if it was there, I couldn't find it. So let's look at the components. The corn chips lacked a good corn flavor. Just blah corn chips. I would guess that they cut up one grilled chicken breast to spread over the chips and I found the chicken to be flavorless. The roasted corn kernels were good, just not very many of them. The pico de gallo and pickled red onions were the tastiest parts of these nachos, but sparse. I should have ordered more of both to amp up the flavor. I did not find the sauce to be 'blazin'. I did see flecks of red pepper in the sauce which looked more like liquid cheese to me. To sum it up, this dish was disappointing and I would not order it again. My daughter ordered the Tavern Steak Hoagie ($22.00) and selected Truffle Fries as an upgraded side (add$2.00). Shaved ribeye was piled high on a garlic butter toasted hoagie roll. The meat was topped with mushrooms, caramelized onions, provolone and steakhouse aioli. Excellent flavor, a great sandwich. The truffle fries are to die for. I'm sure they were twice fried and the truffle - outstanding!! The Beef on Weck sandwich ($19.00) is my wife's favorite here and they did not disappoint. Thinly sliced tender roast beef piled high on a toasted Kummelweck roll served with a side of au jus and ground horseradish, an excellent condiment for roast beef. She selected the upgraded Brussels and Bacon with Thai Glaze side (add $1.00). We have had these sprouts before and they are great! They roast the sprouts with bacon ensuring they get some good carmelization, toss them with some Hot/Sweet Thai chili sauce and serve it in a mini cast iron skillet to keep them hot. So, so good with just a little kick from the chilies in the sweet sauce. A great meal! We will go back for sure and I'll try something else. read more

My husband and I went last night and were seated in a room in the back of the restaurant that was built like a closet and painted bright white. We didn't complain because we were tired after spending the day at the hospital with a loved one. It was not pleasant experience. There was plenty of space in the dining room. Went to Tamiami Tavern on a Thursday eve at 6:15pm. First time here, we heard all the positives from our neighbors, finally got there to give it a try. Very busy, though the flow was moving very well and the hostess did a great job organizing the dining room. We saw 2 seats at the bar, my wife and took the 2 seats and had a great experience. Locals and snowbirds like us, filled the bar and dining area. Lots of great conversations with peeps from all over the USA. The dining room and bar is pub like. There also is outdoor seating. We ordered 2 vodka and tonics and perused the menu. Great choices for apps to entrees. Most protein options come in 4oz or 8oz which gives you and opportunity to chose how much food you want. Great offering. Okay food! Ordered Thai Ahi and pistachio encrusted Cod. Wow! Fresh clean, tasty, and perfectly cooked and plated. Tuna is cooked to your order served with green beans and carrots perfectly blanched. Pecan pilaf ridiculously good. I could have ate a bowl of just pilaf. The Cod was moist and flaky well seasoned but not overpowering. Served with asparagus and Parmesan risotto. The risotto arguably the best I ever had. Rich and creamy, but not pasty. We will definitely return. They serve breakfast and the menu items look great! The 4 star rating is due to flat tonic water which made for an unsatisfactory vodka and tonic. Tamiami Tavern 7-23-24 Stopped by for some dinner about 5:15pm on a Tuesday. They were not that busy, so we got a table right away. They do have an outside patio area and one couple was out there with their dog at a table. This place was clean and neat, but I have to admit with a bunch of people sitting at the bar it was noisy. Their foul language carried over to our table which put a little bit of a damper on our experience. The waitress came over fast and took our drink order and returned quickly to take our food order. I ordered my favorite Roast Beef on Weck with a side of Fries and Coleslaw. My friend ordered the Lobster on Crescent Roll and a side of Fries and a bowl of Clam Chowder. My other friend ordered a Burger and Fries. Our food came out quickly. The Roast Beef was amazing. The roll was perfect, the Fries were good, and Coleslaw was very good. The only thing I will critique is the Roast Beef and the dipping Au jus was warm not hot. My friends Lobster Crescent was very good, hot and full of Lobster. Her fries were good, but the Clam Chowder she ordered was Amazing. It was hot, thick and had plenty of Clams in it. Our other guest that ordered the burger and Fries stated it was very good and everything was hot. We have eaten here a couple times, and this place may be a little more expensive but it's a notch above the others. I would have given this place 5 stars but with the warm food I deducted a star. On a recent visit to the area, I came out with a couple of friends who live in the area. On a Monday night we were able to score a table in an alcove that kept conversation easy. We hadn't seen each other in quite a while, so we wanted to be able to converse with ease. Service came straight away and offered drinks and water. We asked for some advice on the menu and were able to gain some insight to some of our waitress' favorites. Food came out in a timely manner and everything was delivered as ordered- hot when needed or cold. Flavors were very good and the portions were large as we wound up having plenty of leftovers. Inside is very relaxed and casual- perfect for friends and family to come in and enjoy a pleasant meal. A large bar area for those who prefer a drink or an even more casual dining experience. Tables can be brought together for larger groups and while we visited there were two larger groups of 8 or more. Prices were very fair and a good value. If you come, you're sure to have a good meal with good service at good prices. read more
