Very busy on a Tuesday night. I am so sorry, but the servers name escapes me. I wanna say it was Megan, but I might be off, but whoever it was was fantastic. They knew the menu they gave their honest opinion of which dish they like better than others. I had the linguine with clams and it was absolutely delicious. My one friend had the margarita pizza and they said it was very good and then my other buddy had lasagna that was extremely good and it comes in a skillet and it's not a huge size, but it was very good and extremely hot. First time at Italia, as we came on a recommendation from a friend for my birthday dinner. We came early right when it opened. The table ordered a large Cesar salad to share and we all ordered the same thing. Either the chicken parm or the chicken Toscana. I have to say, I was quite disappointed by the presentation of the chicken toscana. It didn't appear the way it sounded on the menu. It definitely needed some other items mixed it. It was too much of a gravy sauce consistency. It was tasty but I probably would not order it again. And it was definitely missing the pancetta it was promised to have. Overall the bread was good and the chocolate cake they offered for my birthday was a nice treat. Would definitely be back to try other dishes. read more

Wound up here by accident because the place where we were planning to eat had a 90 minute wait. A 5 minute walk brought us to Italia instead, and I couldn't be happier. I had a Caesar salad, a pasta stuffed meatball, and the Spaghetti Carbonara. All three were excellent. The Caesar was complimented with anchovies (you can get them on the side if you like), the meatball was perfectly spiced (and there was a lively discussion of how it was stuffed), and the Carbonara was perfectly made. Our waitress was Erica. Fast, well informed, and only there the moment you think you need her. A rare quality. She settled the discussion of how the meatball was assembled. Guys, I wish I could leave you a better review, but tonight's effort was extremely poor. The fried calamari had so very little calamari and way too much peppers and sausage not like we've had it previously. The Caesar salads were very good as were the cocktails. The Burata salad was also quite nice. The linguine with clam sauce while it looked spectacular was flavorless with zero clam flavor try finishing the linguine in some clam juice. It helps tremendously. It didn't have enough salt. It didn't have enough olive oil and I couldn't taste any white wine in it at all. The pork chop on risotto - the pork chop was quite excellent to be perfectly honest. The risotto was so overcooked such that it was like a mash or a porridge. The mushroom risotto was the same way overcooked I know you have to par cook the Arborio for risotto to have it ready for service in a reasonable time. But then they cooked it way too long and it just became mush. Sorry. The calamari, Burata salad and the pork chop were all much smaller portions than previously served pictures attached. I came upon this place by walking by in Punta Gorda looking for a place to have dinner. it's friday night and i didnt make a reservation anywhere. The young man at the front desk was so kind and accommodating. As the place was very busy and i offered to sit at the bar, he went looking for a bar seat for. A gentleman came over and at first told he couldn't seat me than he gave a booth in the main dining room. The place was decorated with red and black walls and large paintings and pictures that reflected Italy. Not my style but very nice. The waitress Dottie was spot on. she was excellent, kind friendly made suggestion, Wonderful. I ordered shrimp italia, which was shrimp scampi with spinach and tomatoes. Delicious. This is definitely a place to visit if your in Punta Gorda and a place i will come back to. read more

Are family made arrangements with Italia restaurant for our wedding reception. On February 20th in the evening at Gilchrist park my cousins Granddaughter got married. We all went to Italia restaurant to eat and end the day with the bride,groom and family. Lincoln was our server. I hope his boss knows how excellent he was . He kept up With the large party himself.. taking orders, including the drinks. I have no idea how he kept it together. Never saw him upset,angry,or loose his cool in any way. . Wow Lincoln you did a fantastic job! The food was excellent and served hot. And fresh. The manager needs to look at Lincoln what a great job he did. And give him a raise or increase his position . We were seated on time which was wonderful given we made reservations a day early Our waitress introduced herself and brought us drink and bread, hot and over baked We each ordered a salad, house and small Caesar. Both salads were overdressed which contributed to soggy lettuce. Caesar salad dressing was thick,overpowering and heavy We ordered Chicken Parmesan and dry pasta we asked for sauce on the side for the pasta. The pasta was overcooked and the chicken Parmesan had no sauce on it. Dry and crispy. Not once during our experience did the waitress come to see how we were faring or if we needed anything A busboy tried to take my husband's plate away before he was finished with his meal All in all, not an enjoyable experience. read more

This was our first time eating here so we made reservations and asked for a table near the window. We made the mistake of parking in the garage and coming in the back through the overflow, wait station and restaurant to the front. (It would be easy to put a station in the overflow to check in and be seated) When we got there at 6 it was about 25% full. Plenty of tables near the window, center, side, you get the idea. We were seated at the walkway to the kitchen. The worst possible table. Then, the 2 tables right next to us were seated leaving the center dining area nice and empty. Our waitress must have been a lifer and wasn't interested in people pleasing. The drink she brought my friend was definitely not what she ordered but the waitress insisted it was. On the plus side, the food was good. But for the price it wasn't worth it. read more

I was very confused by Italia. The vibe it was going for, based on ambiance and menu, was "early 2000s" contemporary. But the execution was very "kids running a local pizza place while the owner was out of town." This disparity made me more or less continuously uneasy as the meal went on. The specific points of unease: -The front of house manager (I think) was very short with employees twice during our wait for a table. It was a mix of Gordon Ramsey and "oldest teenager barking orders at younger teenager," if that local pizza place analogy holds. -Gratuity is included... for a table of two. Why? Why do that? I haven't seen something like that in twenty years. If you're doing that, just up the cost of every dish by 20% and put a progressive note in the menu that reads "we believe in paying our employees a living wage and so gratuity is not required or expected." -Our leftovers were shoveled into styrofoam clamshell containers at the table instead of removed, boxed and brought back. Very amateur'ish considering the prices and guaranteed 20% gratuity. -The execution on the food was very inconsistent. The warm bread was sliced and, I believe, kept under a heat lamp for service, which made it dry out. The carbonara was thin and under salted. And the salads were sloppily plated and spilling off the plate. All of this really made it read like some pizza joint punching above its weight class. This contrasted with the attempted swank of the outdated decor and turned the whole night into a study in disparity. I don't think I could recommend it unless you already like it there. read more

Our Caesar salads were to absolutely die far with crisp but leafy lettuce with an incredible dressing. The cheese ravioli was soooo good; the cheese inside of the pasta, married the dressing so well! We last minute decided to enjoy dinner at Italia for my birthday as it's a quick drive from our house and we'd never been. We had excellent food and service! My husband is a picky eater and didn't see much he liked. He asked the server if chicken Alfredo could be made for him to which they gladly did for him. The server even offered to grab me something else free of charge if I didn't like the food I chose - which was unnecessary because the meal o had was great. An easy 5 star review to write! I rarely give five stars to a restaurant. That being said we had such a wonderful time ,such good food and drink with an attentive, friendly waiter who was able to handle the five of us with aplomb. Highlights for food were the meatball appetizer, lasagna, and chicken piccata. My husband loved the fact that it came with mashers instead of spaghetti. Lemonchello cake with Jamaican coffee ended a perfect meal. Clean friendly place we will definitely visit again. read more

The location, bread and salad were all great! It was a very busy Friday which is good for them. The service was good too. The entrees were not what they used to be. We had the Italian pot roast over risotto, Carbonara and Chicken Alfredo. The Alfredo was vey bland. This is usually the best around!! The pot roast was tough and the carbonara was overly seasoned with the pancetta/bacon. I don't know if it's inflation and they are cutting costs with the food or if it's finding good employees.
