Sure there were kinks to iron out like any new business but because the pizza is so good, it's worth giving them some grace. Everything here is so good. I used to travel from Toms River to the Jackson location just for one of Pete's pies. His crust is like no other place at least around here so you can imagine how excited I was when he opened a lication in Toms River. His rice balls are just like my Aunt Mary's and every time I have ordered his fried calamari it is spot on NEVER rubbery. Go hungry cause portions are more than generous we always bring home leftovers. I have family from Phimadelphia that travel to Jackson for his pies. I'm going to start with the pizza was amazing - almost like home and I adored the sesame seed crust! that being said the entrees are way overpriced penne with red sauce and 2 meatballs $20! Was my misunderstanding because it showed pasta for $8 with marinara sauce $10 and 2 meatballs $10 - the way it was written i thought that meant that the meal was $10 but I was charged $20 ! I ordered the chicken Donna as well which was $19 not amazing and not worth the $19 bucks I paid for it the chicken was on the dry end and the sauce was very very oily - the description states a garlic wine sauce but all I tasted was oil. As far as service the delivery boy was cordial and polite and patient with me fighting with my dog so she didn't run out If your looking for some pretty amazing pizza this is a great option - if your looking for entrees I would try somewhere else read more

This place used to be good. Last few times our orders are totally messed up and when you call to correct it the woman ( wife) is rude and nasty and says she has 25 people on the phone and what do I want her to She is a real hazard to that business with her no people skills and nasty bad attitude. We eat there all the time and it's a real disgrace how you are treated when THEY mess up an order. The pizza is burnt on the bottom and is inedible, the salad is grilled chicken And not chicken cutlet as requested. She screams into the phone " Well I wrote it down right so it's the chefs fault....AGAIN not my problem!!!! I ordered ONE order of penne WHITE as we have 2 people here and one is under 2 one likes marinara sauce and one likes vodka sauce. I asked for 2 separate small cups on the side. Picture attached are of what showed up. 2 whole orders of pasta swimming in sauce. I was super clear on the phone and repeated myself 3 times. A house full of people who won't eat this garbage who can blame them I wouldn't eat it either. A real mess- and that woman didn't even apologize. I cannot wait until our new pizzeria opens between that and The Riv we are all set. Never setting foot in Brooklyn square again ever even tho the owner Anthony tells me to see him next time I come so we can figure out what happened?? There were a few times we ordered and the upside down square was good, 5 star good. So much so that we keep going back. I probably should have given those pies great reviews but you know how it is... people tend to express when they are unhappy with the hopes that the establishment sees it and takes steps to fix the issue. A couple times I've called to pickup my pie and was told 1 hour or longer. I do not mind waiting or picking it up at all. What i do have a problem with is when i pick it up and it's not fresh! Worst thing in world is a sitting pie. A couple of times i would go sooner than the told time and it would be edible. Today's pie was the worst pie I ever got from them. It was not fresh. It was not good. I even tried heating it up and it was still not good. The crust was dry and the cheese and sauce were burnt looking. If that was my first pie ever from them I probably would not go back. I understand it's hard to time it perfectly but your timing needs to be tweaked so your customers are happy enough to return. I wish I could give them 5 stars because the pizza is that good. Unfortunately, the customer service is terrible. They are so busy that they get orders wrong. I ordered their new firecracker pizza and they forgot to make it with hot peppers- smh. They really don't seem to care because they continue to make money despite the service. Yesterday, I accidentally forget to say two slices of pizza, but just said two pizzas. The one girl at the counter was really nice(the other one sorta acted annoyed) and the man gave me a extra slice even after I made the error. I have wanted to try the Brooklyn Square/Sicilian pizza as know elsewhere for quite sometime before they opened a local location. The first point I will touch on is the $20 price tag of the Brooklyn square/Sicilian & let anyone who hasn't ordered know they pizza weighs about 8-10 lbs! You definitely get $20 worth and I could only eat a slice & a half where other places I can do 2-3. Delivery was free so that also offsets the cost elsewhere. Now to get to the pizza itself! I do not like Romano cheese so I omitted that & got extra sauce which for once I may not of had to but enjoyed it all the same! The crust is crisp on the bottom and has a buttery doughy center topped with mozzarella & an amazingly sweet sauce that has to be made with San Marzano tomatoes & has Italian Herbs. It's perfect for a sweet sauce lover! The pizza was very good & extremely filling. The biggest thing to know is it is a very different taste profile from any other Sicilian which is why having a different name is quite appropriate. When craving a Sicilian pie i would still travel to Point Pleasant to Vesuvios over anywhere else but there will certainly be days ahead I'll crave ordering a Brooklyn Square here because it really is apples and oranges outside of both being thick square pizza. The closest comparison I can make is between this and Chicago deep dish pizza as the taste is almost identical to a couple of the famous places there! Now let me talk about delivery time as I'm sure because of others need to solely review that some may not have ordered. I live at their furthest delivery point & my pizza was here in less than 30 mins!!!!! I've ordered from places up the street and it's taken longer! I wish others who have reviewed this pizza restaurant would focus on the FOOD & not just use yelp as a forum to complain about delivery times. that's something you call the manager about. If it happened repeatedly then I get it but one time shouldn't warrant hurting a restaurant on here or the patrons that use a restaurants star rating when looking for the "best food" To close I will also recommend the mozzarella sticks which were also hot and fresh on an 11 degree winter day coming from 10-15mins away! For those who have had a famous Chicago deep dish pizza & miss it you should give their Brooklyn Square a try! I look forward to sampling their other unique pies in the future! read more

WOW I normally order the NY style square pie from Spano's Tomato Pies in Point Pleasant but this place is definitely worth the ride to get their square pie. The crust is crispy on the sides & bottom, the dough in the middle is airy with cheese and their delicious sauce on top. The best square pizza I've had so far. I ordered their chicken wrap with arugula for lunch and it was loaded with grilled chicken, enough to have it for dinner as well. The food at this place rocks but the lack of 1 star is because of the service. The staff there must know their food is good because they don't really acknowledge you're there until you're loud (and I went there when the lunch crowd was gone). Don't get me wrong, the pizza is good. But when I went to pick up an order that I called in there were three guys working behind the counter. Two had masks only covering their mouths. The third had his completely around his chin. All while they were handling food. There is a sign at the door saying you have to wear a mask to enter which I am happy to do.
