I was in Manahawkin, NJ for a wedding and desperate for a vegan meal the night before the event. There are few options on Uber Eats for late night meals in Manahawkin and even fewer options for vegan food. I was amazed to stumble upon Attilio's Pizzeria with a well labeled vegan menu and so many meals to choose from. My husband and I splurged and had delivered: mixed salad with BBQ tofu, garlic knots, and a vegan grandma's pizza with mushroom and buffalo tofu. Every item was INCREDIBLE! The mixed salad of course was a pretty standard salad, and I was impressed with how well marinated the BBQ tofu was and how many veggies were included. The olives and red peppers were such a treat! The garlic knots were of course delicious. How do you ruin those? But it is so rare to find them vegan and really special to be able to order that. The pizza was filling, and we had leftovers all weekend! The buffalo tofu as a topping is so unique and also a treat to be able to have vegan protein on a pizza. The crust and sauce were both fantastic. There was so much flavor in each bite and just the right amount of vegan cheese to keep all the toppings on right. If I am ever in this part of NJ again of course I am ordering from Atillio's Pizzeria. What a gem for vegan options and I really thank them for such an inclusive menu. read more

10/10 experience! I've been gluten free for 14 years now and I haven't have mozzarella sticks since then. Tonight that all changed. The Chicken Parm dinner is out of this world. Very generous helping, the pasta is cooked perfectly and has a generous amount of sauce. Comes with choice of salad or soup with either a good choice. The garlic knots are flavorful, crispy and a great accompanying sauce for dipping. Unfortunately the owners changed hands. They no longer have the best Chicken Franchise I ever ate... "ever". We tried 3 different times hoping it was a one off night for the chef. Clearly the new owners have a Franchise receipt that is less than average. No lemon zest taste like the old Italy's Best. When you come to the Jersey Shore it's all pizza this pasta that. Attilio's is another classic American Italian food spot in Toms River. It suited our needs perfectly with a bunch of families with kids in booths that weren't gonna sit for a whole meal anyways. You order up front and food comes out pretty quickly. We shared the garlic knots, gluten free mozzarella sticks, and the corn nuggets as apps. Not bad, just standard. My lasagna was pretty good and the calzone my niece got was huge. It came with a very mild cheese that she didn't love but it was ok. Also tried the baked ziti which was as expected. My sister-in-law got the escarole (bean soup) which she said was good, and a nice alternative type option on the menu. They had a variety of ldecent looking pizzas at the front but none of us tried them. Attilio's is better than your typical pizza-to-go place. Attilio's holds a special place in my heart. I am 36 years old, I have been going literally all my life. I used to sit in a high chair when my family ate there when I was a little kid. They used to keep the high chair on top of the Coca-Cola fridge. Attilio's was founded in 1973. A real Italian-American family owns and runs the place. You can tell the difference with the authentic quality. I have always gone just for their pizza, and that is more than enough. But recently I tried their Chicken Penne Vodka upon the suggestion of their employee, and I have now been ordering that, too. The plethora of options for those with dietary restrictions was genuinely mind blowing. It is always so hard to find gluten free bread that isn't dry, let alone nearly impossible to find a place that has good melty vegan cheese. My friends, this place had it ALL!! It has been a few years since I ordered food from Attilio's due to the distance from my home....but we had a great take -out experience yesterday evening. We ordered the Garlic Knot sliders ( eggplant Parm and Chicken Parm version ) and we were very happy with the order! The knots were delicious, tender and incredibly rich and tasting....so much better than traditional garlic knots from other pizza restaurants. We also ordered the Wings, with the sauces on the side. The wings were nice sized and broiled crispy on the outside. We had a great experience with Dora over the phone and in person...she was super friendly and helpful which made the experience even better. It had been a long time since I sat down in an unairconditioned pizzeria on a 90° day to eat, but having been getting food delivered from Attilio's for a few months now, I thought it merited an in-person visit. And, it seems that I've been driving past this restaurant my entire life, and never really noticed it beyond a vague notion that there was a pizza place in that seedy strip mall, which has looked seedy for a very long time. Perhaps I didn't even know it was here, but sensed it, because this is New Jersey and it looks like somewhere you'd be able to get a slice. As dumpy as it is, it's currently made worse by road construction, and having to navigate some broken asphalt and craters in the dirt, but this too shall pass. On entering, it looks exactly like every place just like it; hard red booths, light wood patterned tables. I actually expected it to be nicer and bigger, perhaps with a separate area for less informal dining; this because the quality of their offerings have seemed a real cut above the bare minimum. But there is no such back room. Just the front. Anyway, the food. So, as I've been going on about for a long time, it's hard to find a good cheesesteak in the neighborhood. They have them here. Very good ones. The bread, wherever it comes from, is perfect, and they even toast the sandwich to crisp it up. They're made with white American, melted into the meat, which seems to be of a higher quality than other nearby stops. The veggies are fresh if you go for in for a California style, but they do bump the price by half a dollar for each one. They also have very good soups here, and a decent Cobb salad. Unsurprisingly, I have yet to try the pizza, because good pizza is equally difficult to find in this town; but, being the oldest pizzeria in Toms River, one can assume they do a pretty good job with that as well. Maybe I'll grab a slice next time to round out the experience. read more

I placed an order online at 6:24pm. This was our first time trying them. The order was just for a pizza and appetizer. $36 included $5 delivery fee, tip and taxes. At 7:35pm I called to ask where our food was. I was told "we don't have your order, our tablet must have broke". We received our dinner at 8pm and it was a lukewarm soggy pizza.
