"When ... the....moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie that's a.... (Whaddamean I have to stop or pay royalties! Oh very well...) You know you're local when your family outlasts 3 pizza shops. Guess we've been around awhile. When the last place closed and the owners retired (what's that?...Yes, Florida...), my family asked around and the consensus indicated J&G could fill the gap. And fill they did... the pizzas here are extraordinarily delicious, with one of the best (not-made-by-my-mom) sauces I've tasted. The crust is that perfect concoction of slightly chewiness (what's that?... olive oil... yes a couple of tablespoons is the secret...what's that?...no extra vergine; always use extra vergine...), but with the crackle and aroma that only comes from natural gas-fired ovens. Despite what passes for sauce and dough in the present days of mass production, frozen product, and chain franchises, it's always a joy when you come across a mom & pop family run pizza joint with a passion for excellence. This is one of those places. High fructose corn syrup has no place in pizza sauce and as Cary Elwes said so eloquently in the Princess Bride: "... anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something..." J and G pizza has difficulty with getting there orders correct missing garlic knots and sauce for the calamari. 1st time I gave them the benefit of the doubt saying theres a new owner . 2nd time ordered several items and was delivered to the wrong address. When we received the food it was cold. 3rd time I ordered a cheese steak stomboli, I picked it up and it was a plan cheese stomboli not a cheese steak that I paid for. Drove it back from Jackson NJ after the young lady stated that the owner wasn't there and she wouldn't refund it if I didn't return it. No compensation for there mistake as the owner stated after talking to him on the phone when I got there. I will never go back! Think twice before you go here! read more

This looks fluffy and thick from the oven and then you bite - all that bite and flavor is super light and thin so you can actually eat a few slices with zero bloat and that heavy feeling from bread you get from most pizza. Waited almost an hour and a half for delivery for ONE pizza. I have time stamped receipts if need. Completely outrageous. Then when I call to complain after 45 minutes and my pizza is "still on top of the oven" the owner says "what do you want me to do?" Probably the best pizza in town. Not a fancy place but I'm always in search for a good pizza, and the flavor of their slice it's totally worth the trip! The owner is Italian, and shows a genuine interest for the pizza world. Wow. I was in dire need of a chicken parm hero on the way to Atlantic City, and I definitely hit the jackpot with J&G. It was conveniently located off the Garden State, and my takeout order was ready right on time. I saw a yelp review from 2018 saying this was the best chicken parm hero on earth, but I was a bit skeptical. I am skeptical no longer - it was right on the money. The bread was perfect, the cutlet was perfect, and the sauce ratio was perfect (not too much, which I prefer as someone who is not big on red sauce). Absolutely outstanding. Two thumbs up. This is a great pizza joint. It's been around for at least 30 years (and probably more) because I grew up eating J&G pizza and I think my mom has had the same menu hanging on the fridge since I was as young as 5 or 6 years old. J&G is small and family owned. You can dine in or get take out, but I recommend take out. The dining area isn't anything special. I always pick up my orders, and on average it is about a 20 minute wait. Staff is friendly and pleasant. My family and I just recently order a few pies for the super bowl. My sister got a personal cheese pizza with sardines. I think sardines are absolutely disgusting but she loves them and loved her pizza. She ate the whole pie and she is tiny!!! Who knew she could fit all that pizza inside her? LOL! We also ordered a large pie with extra cheese, which was excellent. It's my Dad's favorite, so it was technically "his pie" but I had a slice and it was yummy!!! Let's just say J & G puts the EXTRA in EXTRA cheese! :) Last, I split a large pie with sausage, peppers, and onions with the rest of the family and we were all satisfied. All the toppings were there and then some. More specifically, it's not like we were hunting for the one lonely, sad piece of sausage on our slice. The pizza was loaded!!! Other notes, I've also had the large antipasta salad a number of times and it was fantastic. I mean, it was stuffed with olives, ham, cheese, artichokes, roasted red peppers, you name it. Salad dressing is home made and delicious. I don't eat pizza often for health purposes, so I've ordered this salad a number of times. haha. They also have stromboli, sub sandwiches, etc.,. All good! No complaints! The only reason why I'm not giving this place five stars is the sauce. There is something lacking in the sauce. I LOVE sauce... My grandma is Italian! Something is missing. J & G's is an awesome neighborhood pizza place, long established in Brick, their pizza is excellent from the crust to the toppings! Some folks have noted that they've received items that were burnt, I'd encourage you to contact them as they always strive to produce a great product, delivered hot and in a timely manner. Their wings a great too, not greasy and good flavor and they make a mean Chef Salad if you're feeling like something a little healthier. I can't rave enough about this pizzeria. They offered my family and I a discount because we have a family member that works for the local police department. The salads are large with tons of toppings and their pizza is always perfect. Management is so friendly - great place for just a slice or full pie and they even remember their customers by name! My relatives and I in the area craved for some pizza. They told me about this place and discussed about their previous positive experiences. I went on the business's Yelp page to check out the posted reviews and the overall rating. Based on what I saw, we all had to try out this place! This place was located in a strip mall called Dorado Plaza. If you saw the sign for the strip mall, then you would know that this pizzeria was located in here. We walked inside. In one section was where the workers made the pizzas and processed orders while the customers made new orders and paid, and in another section was a medium-sized seating area with booths for those who wanted to stay and eat their pizzas. We utilized the seating area to wait for our pizza order to be fulfilled (as what other "to-go" customers did), and it was okay. There wasn't a lot of decorations here, but what really mattered was the service and pizza. Just because there's a reasonably sized seating area doesn't mean there's a waiter service. Everything had to be ordered and paid up front. The person who took our order had a pleasant attitude, and advised us that the pizza was hot after she called our name about our completed order. Our waiting time was 14 minutes, which was reasonable, but because we were occupied on our smartphones, it felt that our waiting time was shorter. But our pizza was really worth the wait! So here we go with the large extra cheese pizza. As soon as we got back, it was still hot and smelled good! I took a few bites. Based on the excellent taste, there was a lot of cheese on the pizza, and it didn't drown out the flavor of the pizza sauce. Speaking of the sauce, it was tasty and wasn't sweet or bland. The pizza crust wasn't too thin or thick, which was fine. The outer-crusts of the pizza didn't have any oil on it, which was good. This pizza pie overall was really enjoyable! Overall I was pleased with the quality of the pizza and the service that we received. The fact that this location was really close to where my relatives resided was a huge plus. If we wanted pizza, we wouldn't have to fight NJ-70 or NJ-88 just to get here. I recommend this place to anyone in the area who's craving for good pizza and fine service. read more

So after years of being devoted customers of one pizzeria in Brick, they must have changed hands & we had multiple bad experiences. Therefore, we have been on the hunt for a new favorite place ever since. Tonight we tried J & G's. We live very close & my brother used to rave about it when he lived here years ago. We had an extra large plain pie delivered on a Saturday night around 6pm. Friendly service from the woman that took the call and delivery person. We had our pizza in 35 minutes and it arrived warm. The pizza itself was good. I'm very picky. I do not like sweet sauce or thick crust. The cheese tasted like good quality & I liked the sauce. The only thing I found was it was seasoned a bit more than your average plain pie. A little heavy with the oregano. But it was good! All in all, great service & quality product. I had a few disappointments when presented with the bill and was told there was an extra charge for this and that. I had dealings with several counter people. Some are very nice and I could accept any explanation from them. Then there are the very stupid ones who can only repeat what they have been instructed to say. Any improvisation shows them to be really stupid and illogical. So I had my back up a few times. But the final straw was reached when they raised their prices in way that seamed kind of sneaky to me. I picked up a color menu two weeks ago. At home, I checked the price of Lasanga, 9.95. So I went to JG and ordered it to go. I asked for extra oil and vinegar on the dinner salad. They charged a lot more than I expected. I said how can that be? "9.95 and .70 tax. The stupid clerk repeated the higher price. I asked to see a menu. The color menu's were replaced with photo copies. When I checked the price I found the clerk was right so I assumed I mis-read the menu at home. The clerk said, we ran out of the color menu's so we just have these copies. That was a lie. When I returned home, I checked the price again on my home menu and it was 9.95 like I thought. The clerk did not say and would not say they recently increased their prices. Instead she said they ran out of the color menus (with the old prices). I really hate it when someone lies to my face or pull the wool over my eyes. So I guess mum is the word about price increases and new menus replace the old. And no one is the wiser. Here are some examples of the price increase in August 2015: 12 inch pizza from 6.50 to 9.50 Large 16 inch pizza from 10.99 to 12.99 Plain Calzone small 7.99 to 9.49 Large from 11.99 to 14.45 I am a cost conscious person and am sensitive to these increases. Also, there is nothing special about this place. It's just a hole in the wall. Dirty tables, broken storage cabinet with door not attached, just lying against the cabinet. Dirty personnel with men not shaved. Dirty clothes all around. So now I am done. My Social Security does not go up and they say there is no inflation. So of course I resent 20-30% price increases.
