NO AVOCADO THAT I PAID $2 EXTRA FOR
Anne H.

Great food, but there have been problems with our order the last 5 times we've ordered. Yesterday the smoothie cup was broken, meaning we only got to have about half the smoothie, the rest was all over the bottom of the deli bag. Today, I ordered a biscuit with egg, cheese, and avocado. Avocado coat $2, when my sandwich showed up, no avo anywhere. Called the store, sat on hold for almost 5 min. Then they told me they won't refund me the $2. So disappointing because when the don't mess up their food is delicious. Guess I have to find a new breakfast place.

All of these bad reviews are from years ago. Brooklyn Standard has the best bagels in Greenpoint that make the best sandwiches. They're fluffy, boiled bagels that remind me of Jersey. You wouldn't expect how good the bagels are but they're definitely better than Bagel Point's. I like the juice bar too. I get a small #1 juice. It's like a kale, ginger, cucumber thing. I prefer the juice over the coffee. The coffee can be watery sometimes. Again, a 3 star review is very unfair for this place.

First time ordering from here and I will NEVER do so again. Ordered a smoothie and a bacon egg and cheese on a roll. The spot is around the corner from me. This is how the sandwich was delivered (pictured below) and no straw for my smoothie. I'll leave this place to the hipsters.

Holy Guacamole Burrito

If looking for a fresh and delicious breakfast burrito then look no further than Brooklyn Standard on Nassau Ave. Located only a few blocks from McGolrick Park, the deli hosts a diverse array of breakfast options to satisfy the pickiest of taste buds. I ordered the Holy Guacamole Breakfast Burrito, which was loaded with scrambled egg, potatoes, pepper jack cheese, pinto bean spread, and guacamole. It was scrumptious and costs $7.50. Service was fast and friendly.

Quick and easy bodega style ordering. Great veggie and vegan options too! Got the veggie burrito with veggie sausage.

Great little place... Yummy sandwiches and SOUP! I recommend the avocado sandwich or the seitan French dip. Friendly staff too...

After waiting for 2 hours, they called and said they couldn't find their delivery guy and canceled my order. Thanks!

Counter staff are nice but have no sense of urgency, which is the quality I value most in counter staff.

There's the main seating area and then two offshoot lounges, which aren't quite as cozy but offer different levels of quiet and ambience. I love all the random décor, antique signs, old arcade games as tables, a million lamps. It's like what nook is going for but you can actually sit down on a comfy couch most of the time. The guy working the counter has a lot of energy and clearly loves being there. The PB banana smoothie was yummy, very thick so could use a spoon. Mushroom toast was a bit pricey but you did get a lot of food for your money, the focaccia was crunchier than expected but all around a nice cafe bite. I just appreciate how this is such a gathering spot where you can watch bk life play out while working, it had a different energy from a lot of places in the area.

Shucks I wanted to give this place five stars but it didn't start so well. The first barista who…read moretook my order was really great. I first ordered a chai latte and he said I could do two different syrups so I got the pumpkin and salted maple, though I was worried about it being too sugary so he suggested I could just do half a pump of each. He asked me what the name of the order would be and I said "Aida" (the phonetic spelling is ah-EE-dah). And then I heard the other barista say something along the lines of, "oh Aida, how about 'Aida' rather not be here", pretty rude if you ask me. And then I ordered the spicy nook sandwich. And when another server called my named to grab it she didn't even knowledge me when I tried to thank her and instead she talked to her coworker while I was right in front of her. The sandwich was really good, so was my chai tea. I really like the pumpkin and salt and maple syrups too. I did like all the options for seating although it was pretty packed. I'd say if you have a big party get there early. By 7pm the whole place was filled. There was a huge majong club that came in and took the whole back area, it was so crammed there were lines for the bathroom. Over all I had a good time. I really like the music too just know it gets very busy in there. The employees I would say were hit or miss. The ones that were great though I really liked. Just seem like the ones who didn't really give attention to customers or were kind of rude seemed like they didn't wanna be there.
