I'm not a whiskey drinker, but when I first went to Louisville in 2021, I discovered a bourbon that I actually liked (in small quantities): Blade and Bow by Stitzel-Weller Distillery. Unfortunately you cannot get it in Canada, so when we went to the US in the summer of 2022, I was determined to purchase a couple of bottles. We didn't have any luck in DC or Baltimore, but I figured surely it would be available in New York, and every time I saw a liquor store I'd go in, but I couldn't find it anywhere. However, while in Brooklyn we came across Brooklyn Wine Co so we went in and to our surprise, they sold Blade and Bow! And at $49.95, it was cheaper than at the distillery in Louisville ($63)! So when my husband and I went back to New York over Christmas, going back to Brooklyn Wine Co, even though it was out of our way, was a priority. Because we had only a limited number of days we could venture into Brooklyn (we couldn't go to Brooklyn on days we had a show booked, for example) and I didn't want to turn up and they were out of stock, I contacted them ahead of time asking if there was a chance they would run out of stock, and if so, offered to pre-pay. The owner responded saying that they regularly stock Blade and Bow, but if they were running low, they would put some aside for me, and no need to pre-pay. When we arrived on December 28th, they had plenty of Blade and Bow in stock, but due to the ridiculous custom rules, we could only purchase three bottles. In addition to being one of the few liquor stores that stocks Blade and Bow, the customer service was great. One of the employees offered to go into the stock room to see if he could find a bottle with a specific number that we needed to complete our collection. (There are little plastic keys hanging from the bottles, numbered one to five, and if you get all five and go back to the distillery, you get a golden cup.) Unfortunately we couldn't get the number we needed to complete the set (#5), but the employee was able to help us find another that we needed. Even though we went to Brooklyn Wine Co for a specific product, they have a great selection of wines and spirits, and I will definitely go back if I am ever in New York. This great review is out of the gratitude to the owner, who helped make my New Year's Eve perfect. I went in looking for neither-champagne, nor Prosecco , nor Cava, nor any of the usual sparkling wines. I wanted something unique. And yeah, I was possibly being kind of annoying with my questions. The owner was nice enough to recommend me a South African sparkling wine, which was the star of my (two person) New Year's Eve party. He also recommended a French sparkling wine that is not from the Champagne region, which was also what the doctor ordered. Red White and Bubbly was my local wine shop for a long time. They really outdid themselves with this move and refresh as Brooklyn Wine Co. The new store a block up is huge, with even more offerings of wine and spirits. The staff remain very knowledgeable and helpful if you have questions or want recommendations. There's more refrigeration, so‒-yay!‒-for already chilled bubbly. There are regular tastings and even a frequent buyer's club now (who're you looking at?). The tastings range from selections of wines to local spirits, so you can try something new and unexpected. I continue to be impressed by the inexpensive (under $10) selections of the month. So basically, it's bigger and even better. And I always look forward to their extensive and fun rosé tasting in the spring! read more

This store does that for me and my family every time we come in for a drink to pair with our meals. On my most recent purchase the sales associate, name Mario, asked me a question I never encountered when looking for champaign. He said "Do you want your drink to be sugary sweet or fruity sweet?" This question made me think and I reconsider the direction I wanted to go for a bottle of champaign. After I gave him my response he made a recommendation suited for my wants. All my friends that live in the Slope are lowlifes who don't deserve a nice bottle of wine.* I know this because despite RW & B's very decent vino selection, I always seem to come in looking for liquor. And although they do sell liquor, the selection isn't what I would call great. However, the aforementioned lowlifes are OK with that bottle of Skyy, so it's not really a big deal. I do appreciate that about half the time, there is a nice lady in the back of the shop, hawking some sort of spirit that I'm probably never going to buy. I'm certainly not above taking a free shot of...what is that, Kraken? I won't lie to y'all - it doesn't matter to me whether it's red, white or bubbly - I love them all. And this shop has it all, bottles from dozens of countries around the world. Prices are average and seriously they had a great variety. Bonus- they even have a wall of liquor (although the liquor is priced a little high). So you might expect a high star rating, right? Nope. This place has a good assortment alright, but their customer service is lacking. When we rolled in there were 3 staffers in the store. One was making sure bottles were lined up, the second was behind the counter eating take out and the 3rd was watching us. Does this shop encounter people trying to steal bottles of wine often? Because this guy was staring holes through each of us and that is extremely off putting. None of them said a word to us until we were walking back towards the door. And we were the only folks in the shop... would it behoove you to at least say HI. Ahh well. Should I reallllly need some wine and happen to be in the neighborhood I'd stop by... but I'd rather save my $ for those who appreciate the business. read more

This store has hired an individual who is not familiar with NYC's paper-bag fee. I was charged 5 cents extra for a plastic bag and when I complained to the cashier, he said that this was the law and refused the refund. It wasn't worth making a fuss over 5 cents, but his insistence on his ignorance was shameful. Will never return there! read more

Was looking for a place to buy a Vodka, small and simple, to cook pasta with salmon and vodka which is a dish which reminds me teenagers' birthday parties in italian pizzerias. There are three key elements to a good wine shop: good inventory, good prices, and informed and helpful personnel. Red, White and Bubbly disappoints on the last one. I like wine, a lot. And a lot of what I like about wine is learning and discovering new wines I haven't had before. Key, for me, is a staff person I can trust. Even better if I can name a wine I like and what I liked about it and have them recommend one they think I'll like based on what I've described. Red, White and Bubbly's staffers can't do this. They don't know anything about the wines they're selling. They're basically the same as a sales clerk in The Gap. Don't bother asking them questions or asking for recommendations. With all the other wine shops in the neighborhood, I'd skip this place. read more

You know those gregarious, thoughtful friends who always greet you with a smile and a pat on the back, and never try to one-up you on anything? That's RW&B through and through! This wine shop is truly amazing. The employees are great: they're never pushy and they never try to play "I know more about wine than you". They don't ever seem to be hovering, but the second I lift my head and look around for someone, there they are. Like magic wine imps. Awesome. The shop itself it very well organized (my first time there, years ago, it took me all of five seconds to figure out where everything was). Well, it's official. I'm on Yelp to endorse my neighborhood wine shop. After many wine runs at all the local shops, I'm most impressed by Red White & Bubbly. I'm not a wine connoisseur, but I like options: cheap ones, expensive ones, and middle of the road ones. Before I entered, I had this impression that it would be snooty and expensive. It wasn't. There are a lot of bottles in the $7 to $15 range, the staff is helpful, and most importantly, you leave with a slight buzz for free. Oh, a swig of Swedish vodka for me? Oh, it's organic? I can totally tell that it's organic. Ha. The wine tastings are insightful for an amateur like myself and the liquor tastings are a quick and convenient way to feel warm on a cold winter night. Me and Miss Sarit were waiting for the bus across the street and had a craving for some homemade lychee martinis, I saw this place that looked nice and decided to risk missing the bus home for a bottle of booze... At least if I missed the bus I could crack open the bottle and take enough swigs to make me completely indifferent to waiting an additional 20 minutes in the blistering cold. After braving Brooklyn motorists by daringly j-walking (jay-walking?) across the street I stumbled in and nearly startled the poor soul standing near the door. Mishaps averted, I shoved on to the bottles of what I was looking for: vermouth. The kind lady behind the counter showed me to what I was looking for, and even looked up a recipe to make sure I was getting the right thing and shared tips with me on how to make the drink (this is my first time making a lychee martini), this was a very nice touch! She really went above and beyond. She walked me over to the section, handed me the top-shelf version of it and explained why it was better - since I am planning on messing this up I opted for the same-sized bottle about 5$ cheaper. Score. I made the purchase and hightailed it outta there in time for the bus to hazardously storm the curb and dashed on home for some gooooood solo-drinking. Ahhhhh... Red White & Bubbly is by far the best wines and Spirits store I've ever been to. I will be honest, I am not much of a wine drinker, but when I do purchase wine whether it be for leisure drinking or a special occasion, I visit this shop. They have an extensive variety of wines, locally and from all over the world. The staff is always helpful and informative. The Staff is quick to recommend a good wine whether you're a wine expert or occasional drinker like me. Their wine prices are competitively low, compared to other wine shops in the neighborhood, but i must admit that their Liquor is very expensive. They don't specialize on Liquor, although they do have a good variety, they mostly specialize in Wine and Champagne. Purchase any Wine Bottle or Champagne and ask them to chill it for you, they have a Wine chiller "Machine thing" that chills the Wine bottles in minutes at no additional cost. I recommend. read more

Very solid-I don't know as much as wine as I would like-Red, White and Bubbly-this is the wine store closest to my new apartment and delightfully close to the Union St R stop. The perfect place to pick up some drinkable viddles on your way to that bday party, housewarming etc. They have this new brand of Brooklyn wine-in addition to being a proud 718 transplant it is very tasty especially the red variety. read more

I think the most unfortunate part of Red, White, and Bubbly is that it's the closest wine shop to my apartment. I never think a place is over-staffed, but I definitely get the vibe that this place is. I don't need 3 people watching me browse a wine selection, especially if all of them are just lounging behind the counter. Go stock or clean something. Their selection is mediocre, overall. I will say, however, that I do enjoy that they have a cool room in the back that has some really interesting things. Outside, their wines and expertise seem limited to just a few certain (common) areas. I could care less about tastings if they're like this. Who eats Chinese food while tasting people on pinot noirs? You can't smell the subtleties of a wine's bouquet if you're inundated with MSG and chow mein fumes. Go make the trek to Sip, Slope Cellars, Big Nose/Full Body, Borisal, Shawn, or Sterling Grapes and Grains. read more

This is the only wine/liquor shop on the stroll from my house over to my friends...and now I'm going to have to find a new route. Their wine selection is sucky--it's either low-end slosh (Monkey Bay) or way too expensive for my Sunday night boozefest. Vodka selection is pretty bad as well. The best part about this store is the picks of the month which are all under $10 and you get a 15% discount if you buy a case of one of the picks of the month. Plus, you can buy them in this cute 4-pack that has an insert describing the wines and making a great gift! I have found some fantastic cheap wines this way. Whenever we stop by to grab a bottle of wine, there is always a distributor from a vineyard that has a wine-taster set up. Though this store is convenient to get to and has a variety of wines from all regions, I have never found any wine or a variety of the Sangiovese grape that I just loved. The prices are mid to high when compared to the value/quality for the wine bottle. They do sell some hard liquors (e.g., Whiskey) as well. read more

Not the cheapest option in the 'hood, but it's on my block and they've recently added shelves of cheap wine right up front (sorted by price), which makes my life easy. They've got a small, curated variety liquors, but the selection is usually too rich for my blood. The staff is usually friendly and quite helpful. I used to live around the corner, and I miss this place. The staff here is top notch. They know their wine in and out. Every bottle on the shelves they can tell you about. If you're cooking, or just having friends over, tell the staff what you're looking for and they can whip up several choices at whatever your price point is They are very friendly and frequently have tastings of wine and liquors in the store. There is a big selection of wines, and they have four featured wines per month that are on special. The prices are good for wine- a little pricey for liquor, but this is predominately a wine shop so go to a liquor store for vodka. If you're in the area and need wine, come to this place- you won't be disappointed. read more

This review is solely on customer service. I've passed by this particular wine shop hundreds of times and have always wanted to check it out. I finally had the opportunity to stop by yesterday as I was looking for a particular bottle of wine for my boyfriend's father. Upon entering I could tell that there was a decent selection; therefore, I thought it might be my lucky day. Since I was looking for something particular and didn't have time to aimlessly browse I asked the gentlemen behind the counter. They both responded that they didn't carry the wine I was looking for. The issue I have is that they didn't even try to sell me anything else or attempt to compare it to something that they do carry. I left wineless and feeling dejected. Just went here to get some wine and the person helping me was so rude and condescending. He basically made fun of the wine I like because they don't carry it which immediately turned me off. I walked away from him and followed me and began to point out the flaws of every wine I was looking at. It was so uncomfortable because it was unwarranted. Used to love Red, White & Bubbly, still like it and have shopped there for years - the owner is a sage-like wine wizard with a great thing going. He's got these little cards with excellent descriptions, pointing you in the right direction for wines at all price ranges + a great selection and decor. There's just one problem: the music the workers have been playing lately, for lack of a better word, SUCKS! Seriously, it is the worst of the worst: bad dance/pop for commercial radio (Nicky Minaj, Kesha, Beiber).The same garbage you hear in suburban shopping malls. Not saying they have to play classical or jazz, although it would be a huge step up. As a pro-musician, I'm open to anything, just not homogenized tracks targeting those with the cultural sophistication of McDonald''s. Especially when I'm buying wine. Sadly, the people working there seem to not know better and enjoy it. They seem better suited working in Forever 21 or Aeropostale. If it weren't for this, I would give RW & B 5 stars. read more

The second I walked in, I knew something had changed since last year. and not for the better. The wines were much more expensive and the wine selection had become much more mediocre. Sad. So I asked and found out that Darrin had sold out his part. Let me say this.....I LOVE WINE. Some may say a little too much..... Some may even go as far as to call me a "wino". Judge away if you please people, it just makes this Yelpin that much more reliable. I just moved to Park Slope after living in California and wine tasting up and down the entire state. This place has a great wine selection and the staff really knows their stuff. For a booze hound on a budget this place has something for everyone at reasonable prices. They frequently do wine tasting in the back and I have picked up some excellent bottles I wouldn't have know about otherwise. Great place to run in a grab something basic for a party or explore the selection a little more closely and get something unique. Cheers read more
