He seemed very knowledgeable, and always explained clearly during visits test results, what was going on, what to expect, etc... he is associated with Mt. Sinai West, and we liked that hospital very much during an orientation session. However, Dr. Sohan was a no show for appointments multiple times. 3 times, in fact. For that I mean that my wife would go to the office for an appointment, wait until about 45 minutes after the appointment time, then ask the people at the front desk just to be told : "Oh Dr. Sohan is not coming today". I understand that, as a doctor, medical emergencies can happen at any time. What is unacceptable is that you don't notify your patients that you have to cancel an appointment. What is unacceptable is when this happens multiple times. When confronted, Dr. Sohan seemed more surprised of our reaction than anything. We never got an apology, and the most we got was: "I'll talk to the people at the front desk". Which he likely never did, as the same thing happened 3 times. I guess Dr. Sohan doesn't realize that people have jobs, and that to see a doctor they often have to take time off, at their own expenses. 3 missed appointments means 3 half days off from work and 3 half days of missed salaries and wages. Moreover, every time Dr. Sohan said he would call us to let us know about test results in between visits, he never did. We always had to call the front desk to solicit a call. In the end, after the third time Dr. Sohan was a no-show to an appointment without letting us know, we decided that was enough. We started to worry that he may be a no-show for the delivery as well. At that point my wife was past 28 weeks, and unfortunately most OB/GYNs in NYC do not take patients who are past 28 weeks. We didn't know that, and finding a new doctor who would take my wife was no easy task. We eventually found a midwife practice that did take my wife as a new patient, and I wish we had made the switch way sooner. Even at that point Dr. Sohan's office was resistant in forwarding all the medical information to the new doctor. We called, the new doctor called, but it was only after the records department at the new hospital intervened that Dr. Sohan's office finally forwarded my wife's medical information to our new doctor. Pregnancy is stressful enough without the added stress of an OB/GYN you can't trust.

I've seen Dr. Nayak personally twice in the past year. She is perfectly fine at what she does and I…read morecan say that I'm always in and back home in under 60 minutes. (I live nearby, so that helps.) I never wait more than 15 minutes past my appointment time to see her and she is fast and efficient. I'd say in and out in under 2 minutes for simple scripts to 5 minutes for routine exams. I rate her at a 5. What I don't like is that when you call the number posted and no one answers after a set number of rings you are instantly connected to her personal answering service. This isn't made clear unfortunately until the call has connected. Most places if you call and there's no answer you either get a machine listing further directions for you to take or it just disconnects. But because it connects you to her service line then you have to deal with snarky reps who answer the phone and treat you like a bother and a moron because you've been connected to them and not by your own choice. After I explained to the operator that I did not call this line but was connected by the number for the office automatically, she still only repeated that they reopen tomorrow at 10:30a and this is an emergency line. She was completely unprofessional and cold. The thing is Dr. Nayak tells us that if we have any questions, concerns or need anything that we should not hesitate to call the office number to speak with her. I don't normally take her up on it but I needed to this time because of a pharmacy mishap. And the very first time that I call her line as a patient, I get connected to someone who very obviously is in the wrong field and does not know the first rule of customer service -- especially when working in the medical branch of customer service. This has left a bad taste in my mouth and while I am fully confident and comfortable being under Dr. Nayak's care, I can say that this experience with her answering service is definitely making me want to find a new doctor that is more easily reachable and has a kinder person answering their service line.

PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE. I honestly have no idea how or why she has such glowing reviews on here…read more.. she's honestly horrible, for a number of reasons. My experience there was borderline traumatic First off, I had to wait 1 hour for her to finally show up. No apologies for being late and making me wait or anything. The office is very run down, which is ok... except when you step to the back, there's absolutely no privacy. There's still other patients in the hall, and the assistant starts asking questions about my health out loud. Then you are lead to one room that actually has a door and looks like it's half storage half room for patients. Without a smock or anything, the assistant just tells you to take off your clothes and leave. She also walked in to me naked without knocking 2 mins after she had left. Absolutely no decency. Dr Nayak herself kept prying me about where I work, etc - and it smelled like she was trying to gauge how much money I make.. she used the sonogram machine and didn't even put plastic over the machine or any sort of cleaning. Red alarm immediately. I was told that I had to come back IN PERSON to receive my test results..... she doesn't do phone calls or email. And, as others have said in these reviews, even if you just come back to have your test results, she charges you. The place is cash only, and the receipts they give are these written ad-hoc receipts that do not comply with IRS protocol. So when I was working with my health insurance to get a reimbursement on my copay, I needed a more legitimate receipt. I could never reach Dr Nayak and had to talk to front desk instead. She told me Dr Nayak had refused to give me another receipt and I would need to come IN PERSON and make an appointment.... that's right.... make an appointment to get a legitimate receipt. Then don't even get me started with the front desk woman, who told me "under the table" that there's a health issue on my file and I'll need to see Nayak, that there was something concerning on my test results. I ended up going to another gynecologist and had them request the test results from Nayak. In the end, there was absolutely nothing wrong. when I called Natalia office again, the front desk woman lied and said she didn't know what I was talking about, that she never said anything was wrong

My…read morejourney with this office has finally come to an end, and I hope this review helps other patients make informed decisions. Perhaps it may also encourage the practice to evaluate areas for improvement. In November 2025, I called to schedule an appointment. Since the provider only sees patients at this location one day per week, my first available appointment was not until January 2026. During that visit, testing was completed, a consultation was provided, and pricing was reviewed. A significant portion of the treatment was paid out of pocket upfront. However, I was specifically advised by the office that certain related services would be covered in full by my insurance, which played a role in my decision to proceed. From the beginning, scheduling was extremely difficult. Appointments were hard to obtain, wait times were often two hours or more, and appointments were occasionally canceled at the last minute, requiring even more waiting. This was especially frustrating because payment had already been collected, yet the treatment itself had not been completed. After multiple attempts to address the delays, I finally received a call from the provider's office and was scheduled within a week. As a result, although my initial consultation took place in early January, the treatment was not completed until early March. A few weeks later, I received a bill for services that I had been assured would be covered by insurance. I made several attempts to speak with both the billing manager and the office manager, but the charges were not adjusted. I was informed that my insurance had not paid the amount expected and that I was responsible for the remaining balance. The office then offered a three-installment payment plan, which I accepted. After making my first payment, I received an updated statement that included a $25 late fee. When I contacted billing and requested a copy of the policy explaining why a late fee was being assessed while I was actively enrolled in a payment plan offered by the office, no policy could be provided. Instead, I was told that if I paid the balance in full, the late fee would be waived. At that point, I paid the remaining balance simply to put the matter behind me. My concerns are not about the medical care itself, but rather the scheduling delays, excessive wait times, last-minute cancellations, inaccurate financial expectations, and billing practices. Unfortunately, the overall experience was frustrating and disappointing.

They told me they were backed up and were taking appointments before me but everyone came in after me and I was the only one waiting in the office for that long. I am typically a very patient person but when I brought up how long I was waiting and my confusion they were not very understanding. The receptionist pearl is kind of rude. Everytime I voiced concerns to my doctor she shut me down. I had an abnormal Pap smear 2 years in a row and was never notified until my third Pap smear three years later. I don't know how people can be so careless with others feelings and time. I do not recommend this office at all.

We are forever grateful for Jo and Jenna's thoughtful and enthusiastic care and support. Every visit, phone call, text, etc was always particular and intimate to our own story while being backed by informed, professional advice and conversation. From billing support to postpartum visits in their new gorgeous office, Nettle made this process easy in a medical landscape that can often be so opaque and overwhelming. As a sporadic doula, I'm lucky enough to have been present at several births and they offer a level of care that I didn't know existed. We were fortunate to have an incredible home birth in our barely one bedroom apartment and throughout felt supported but empowered, nurtured but independent. From the first meeting we knew it was the only way, and they were there for us every step. Both pre and post natal care (not to mention labor and birth support) were approached with attentiveness, warmth, and joyful tenderness. I've carried their philosophy with me into parenthood and find myself asking WW(Jo/Jenna)D for decisions beyond the health of our baby girl and myself. Their sage advice and general outlook on all things birthing and beyond offer a lovely bedrock for this new phase. Briefly, we cannot recommend them highly enough. We love you Jo and Jenna and the whole Nettle crew!
