Did not want my hair thinned out as my hair is very fine but Tiffanie point cutted the last 2" of my hair all over & I am left with no weight or volume. Takes very long time to grow so very upset. There are quite a few salons on this block in Pittsford, but I found this one through a Groupon. Tucked into a cozy corner, Salon Bella Vita offers hair services downstairs and spa services upstairs. For this visit, I was getting my very long hair cut and highlighted with Tiffanie. She took the time to get an idea of what sort of color I was looking for in my highlights, whether I wanted warm or cool tones, and then what I wanted my cut to look like. I was offered coffee or tea which is always a bonus touch for me. The color turned out perfectly (byeeee grays!). The cut ended up going well beyond the 3 inches I had asked for, but as it was taking shape I kinda stopped worrying about it because the cut itself looked perfect on me. My only critique would be that maybe they could feel out the clientele a little bit before launching into a conversation with a lot of expletives. It didn't personally bother me at all, but I'd never been here before so I'm not sure that would've been known about me until we got talking. I could see how some new person might get easily offended if it wasn't their communication style. read more

One of the absolute worst experiences of my life! I asked for balayage.... and this is what Tiffanie did to my head. When I texted her the next day that my head was a disaster, she said it would take 20 minutes to fix... she just needed to "gloss it over". There's no way I was letting her do another thing to my hair. Also, it took over 2 hours to fix. AND THEN when I wrote a review on Groupon, she lied and said I never came in for my appointment. Tiffanie is a JOKE- DON'T EVER LET HER TOUCH YOUR HAIR. And yes this review is due from 2018... because now it's May 2019 and I still have to pay get my hair dyed and fixed because of this mess! read more

I accidentally called this salon while trying to get in touch with another and the owner was so rude and self riotous to me I can't image how she treats her actual customers. I go here to get my hair done by Jen and my nails done by Ashley. I am always very happy when I visit. Jen has been my stylist for about 15+ years. I've had haircuts and styles done by a few other people in between, and none of them ever compare to how she does hair! She's good with all hair types--straight, super curly, thick--you name it. She also did the hair for my wedding, and she did a wonderful job on my bridesmaids and me! She's also a wonderful person and I always enjoy my visits with her. Ashley is my go-to person to get a manicure. Her gel manicures last over two weeks and are very reasonably priced. It's always fun to catch up over a mani or pedicure with Ashley. I get compliments on my nails from many people, and they ask where I go to get them done. read more

Unfortunately, probably the worst experience I've ever had! I arrived at just before my appointment scheduled for 5:30pm and someone told me Tiffanie would be right out. I waited and about 10 minutes later heard a Tiffanie calling back clients and leaving voicemails. Eventually I stood up and said, "Hi Tiffanie, I'm here for an appointment with you..." She admitted she didn't know I was there and then said, "umm... Barb?" Long story short, she double-booked my appointment and I had to show her the text confirmation she sent me to get her to realize she had told me this day and time was "great!"! I was hoping things would turn around when she asked, "Wine?! Red or white?" I replied, "Red, please!" ... she returned with white wine.... She then rushed me over to the sink and washed my hair with alternating lukewarm and cold water temperatures finally settling on cold water. Honestly, that was so disappointing! One of the things I love about getting a haircut is the couple minutes of relaxing warm water and what I think of as a scalp massage... yeah, none here. Next question, "what are we doing today?" I requested a little trim because I'm trying to keep my hair long - well that meant 2+ inches to her. And there was no blending, no face framing. If I could upload a picture, I would! It's choppy, blunt and unattractive. I hate it! (I would call her back and explain and request another appointment to get it smoothed out but I can't afford to lose anymore hair nor do I want that experience again! YOU COULD NOT PAY ME TO GO BACK!) Well, she did call me back a week later asking if anyone had gotten a hold of me to book an appointment yet. I got a gel manicure and standard French manicure with Marcy Bennett using her groupon offer. 5+ stars for her customer service!! She was so hospitable and friendly. I was her last client of the day on a 9am-9pm Friday shift and she still treated me as if I was the first customer of the day! Clean facility and complimentary wine. Lack of stars is because my gel manicure chipped on two nails within 24 hours and the rest chipped within a week, I was on vacation relaxing so I wasn't doing anything that would chip them at all, disappointing because they looked so good :( read more

Big freaking waste of my time on a day I absolutely had no time to spare and I didn't even get an apology for having to wait! And not for nothing, ya had my number, ya texted me reminders at 4am,ya couldn't have texted me to let me know you were running behind? I mean, if the traffic & construction excuse is true, then you knew 90 minutes BEFORE my appointment that you were running late! All over I see you have "24hr cancelation policies" so that clients respect technicians time, unfortunately you don't respect clients time at all. Never again. The services and staff may be excellent but my experience has been very poor in terms of customer service. It only takes a few seconds to respond to a text or email, but I received absolutely no response. Clearly, they did not want my business. I almost never leave bad reviews but being new to the area I relied on these reviews to pick this place. I have lived in many different states so I have experience building a relationship with a new stylist. I get what I feel is a very classic style and a full head foil of baby fine highlights. I've always asked for the same thing and always got the service I asked for, of course some stylists are better than others but I never had a real problem. When I met Cristina however she did not want to do the foil, she kept insisting the foil wouldn't achieve the look I wanted. I was very confused by this as I've been getting this same style for 15 years. It didn't help that her communication style was more abrasive than I'm used to in these situations. She finally relented and mixed up the color. When she came back however she tried again to talk me out of the service I booked and again tried to talk me into a cooler shade of blonde, which I had already said I did not want. At this point I felt very uncomfortable and was worried the reason she didn't want to do the service was that she did not leave herself enough time, after all she had run 20 minutes late for my appointment. I ended up telling her thank you but no thank you and walked out. read more

A very happy place!! I cannot say enough good things about this salon and the staff. Very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The girls are always happy and cheery and seem to love their jobs. And they do amazing work. I've been going there for some time now and am always impressed by the constant improvements. Check out their nail services. You could go somewhere else and get a so/so cheap mani/pedi or you can get a really, really good, long-lasting service here for a reasonable price, with no questions about cleanliness and quality. I am extremely disappointed in the way they run their company. My mother won a gift certificate back in 2013 for a CURE for Cancer benefit, to this salon and with NO expiration date only a date issued. We called in hopes to use the gift certificate for as it listed - "Ladies Night! 5 Women pick 2 services. Wine & Hors D'oeuvres provided." at the end of the month before we were to go to my cousins wedding. I called MULTIPLE times! Left a message on a Saturday and didn't get a call back till the following Tuesday. Which was shortly after I called for the THIRD time to try and set an appointment up. I spoke with the owner Tiffanie and she said that, "the girls who wrote it out no longer work at her salon". Okay turnover happens but that should not be MY issue. So the owner proceeded to tell me she would call my mother Friday to see if the girls in the salon would be okay to honor the other girls gift certificate. I sat in my seat and thought this should not be a question.. you should honor this gift certificate that clearly states no expiration date, how am I to know who is still working for your company or not. This is a bad business practice. We are all VERY disappointed in this situation. Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else. I know now I will make a point to tell others of the BAD taste they left in my mouth. read more
