Came here at exactly 6:58 PM--7 hours into 8 hour road trip to Denver--completely exhausted and starving (and unable to find another open restaurant along the way). Had been here before and was excited to be able to dine here again. Walked in the door, and was told they were closing at 7 PM (even though the place was completely packed). Since there were still a few minutes before 7 PM, I explained my entire situation, and asked if I could order "something at all" to-go. But they shrugged me off. I visited this tavern on a Saturday around 5:30 PM. The GOOD: There are lots of tvs with a myriad of games on (when available). The drinks were made quickly and were tasty. The service was friendly and fast. The OKAY: The food wasn't anything special, normal bar fare. I had a gyro and tots. We also had artichoke dip and it was ok. Received a gift card towards $50 purchase at Brooks Place from a friend. Shortly after the gift card was purchased, new owners came onboard and completely changed the method in which their cards were processed, leaving my card apparently obsolete. Recently I went to Brooks with a friend for dinner with intentions of redeeming the card. I provided the card for payment, but it was refused, stating they had no way of knowing the value of the card, absolutely no apology given by the manager. I paid out of pocket annoyed, because as a matter of principle, there was a implied lack of trust. Trust is after all, what money is, a promissory note. Nonetheless, as humiliating as the situation was, I gave Brooks management an opportunity to make good on the $50, and refund or replace the card as I was told they do have a database for such transactions. More than a month has passed with no resolution, no follow up. I contacted the manager and was basically blown off stating she had neither the time nor the interest in issuing a new card or refund. Unfortunately, her behavior speaks for itself; it's not about a good business with integrity that has the interests of the community at heart, it's about making a buck off of them. Bottom line. I live in the community, and Brooks has lost a regular customer forever. read more

Tonight was Brooks and I have to say, we are very happy we came in. The food was fantastic (caprese stack, meatloaf, Monterey chicken, and chocolate cake); seriously great tasting. Our waitress was personable, quick, easy to chat with and had great recommendations for good to try. The 3.5 star rating is absolutely not deserved. Reading the last few it's based on lack of service. Well, that's a National issue everywhere. So either there is just a lack of perspective in that or a don't care attitude. An oasis in an under-served area. Been here many times and it's great for grabbing a bite, a beer (or wine or cocktail), watching sports and listening to solid classic rock. It was my husband and I first time eating here. I had the Rachel and my hubby had the jalapeño burger. I didn't mind the wait for the food but to serve it cold isn't right. My fries and his tater tots we're both cold. We had a bud light draft that had no taste. Prettily odd that the beer came out this way. I understand the low staff so I do understand having to wait but it doesn't excuse the cold food. I won't be coming back but for others it might be worth a try once. read more

We are never in this area and were in search of a casual place to grab lunch, a beer and hang out with our dog before we continued on our trip. I'm so happy we stopped here! Our server, Alex, was super attentive and friendly. He was very welcoming and shared his menu favorites in addition to befriending our dog. The outdoor patio where we sat was very nice -- clean and full of umbrellas and flowers too. The food was good! The sweet potato fries needed some seasoning and the burger was a little charred but honestly the menu made up for it alone! It is like a homegrown Cheesecake Factory-- so much to try! My better half had the gyro and he said it was delicious. I had the beer cheese burger and it was really very good. Pretzel bun to boot! Lastly, I thought the beer list was great! Very expansive and They even had my favorite seasonal beer on draft which I think literally is only here -- I've never seen it on draft anywhere else in Colorado. Service was good but slow. Food was above average but nothing special. Not really a fan of bastardizing classic dishes like dip sandwiches with spicy green chilies. To clarify the Mac n cheese was good, but dear God please cut the cheese down. It's runny cheese at that, not meant to be soup. We ended up pouring the mass amount of extra all over the tots, which was bomb! Sub green chilies for mushrooms on that dip and that's a money sandwich right there. They make it very hard to give them money. First time I tried was a couple weeks ago and I showed up 20 minutes before their closing time and was told that the kitchen was closed. Tonight I tried calling three times to put in an order - left a message all three times no one would answer the phone. I came in and sat at the bar for 10 minutes and went totally unnoticed. They were busy but so am They had open tables it's not like it was so crazy. So I decided to leave and I will find a place that will gladly take my money and give me good food. Great food, great service. We have eaten at Brooks several times and thus far I have yet to have anything I haven't liked or that had problems. Service - Good. We have not had any issues or had to wait particularly long for our food. We organized a large party at Brook and they were happy to accommodate us and gave us our own waiter. Food - As I said, we have yet to have had anything there we didn't like, from starters to desserts. My personal favorite is their elk, cheddar, jalapeno sauage. It is an exceptionally good plate of food. Price - Expect to pay $20-25 a person, depending on what you order. read more

The service was horrible. We waited 30 minutes for our meal and only said something after the table that came in after us was served their meals. I then asked why there was such a delay, they blamed the kitchen. When I asked then why was the table behind us served, she had no answer. They didn't really seem to care. Stopped on our way to red rocks to see Mark Knopfler. Our friend lives nearby and recommend this place. The chicken pesto Ceasar wrap with pistachios was wonderful, sweet potato fries were passed around. Tangy artichoke dip with fresh veggies, friendly waitstaff. I am particular about music would appreciate something other than 80s Fleetwood Mac. This was a nice break from the road before a show visiting with friends. Verdict: meh. My youngest (17) and I came here for lunch on a Saturday. No crowd really; just a decent amount of business. I have mixed feelings about Brooks Place so I discussed with my daughter for a little perspective. Food: 2.5 stars. The square bison patty on my "black & bleu" burger was good enough and the bleu cheese was good. The "blackened" spice was pretty much nonexistent. The bun was a very bready ciabatta roll and I'm sure the burger meat had been frozen at some point. For a $13 burger, I expect fresh! My side cup of tomato basil soup was fine, but salty. Temperatures of both the soup and burger were right on. My daughter had a gyro and said it was "good; not great." Her fries were just plain, frozen and fried potatoes. Again, for the price you pay these babies need to be fresh!! Service: 3 stars. Friendly and prompt, but not very engaged. Waters went unfilled and we had no check-ins during the meal. I don't want a hoverer, but I was surprised that we just got our food and never saw the server until we asked for the check. Atmosphere: 3.5-4 stars. The place is quite clean, so absolutely no complaints. The TVs had college football on at a very low level, so it was easy to carry on a quiet conversation. That's a huge relief compared to so many places these days. At the same time, there's nothing special about the venue. It's just a spot in a strip mall. For me, 5 stars are reserved for very special places. I put a premium on food quality, so that is the key driver of the review. Service is second for me. All in Brooks Place is meh. I wouldn't violently protest if a friend wanted to meet here, because the beer menu is pretty decent. But I will never be that friend who suggest we meet here. read more

Cool lil bar joint on the way back to the big city from our wonderful mountains!!! $10 all you can drink mimosas- at least on Sunday's- and tons of options to get your grub on. I got the Ceasar wrap for lunch. I bit into it and it was grilled chicken and lettuce in a tortilla.. I thought to myself: "this is too healthy tasting!!!" They forgot the parm cheese , pistachios, and the dressing lol. Waiter was awesome to fix it right away though and my side of sweet potato fries and house made ranch hit the spot.
