The bites that I had that were cooked properly, were very tasty. The yellow dollops of sauce on the plate were saffron flavored, and added an interesting dynamic/flavor to the duck. The winter vegetables were good, and it notes a cauliflower purée on the menu, but tasted a bit more like parsnip purée (either way, good depth of flavor, very tasty). The duck itself was also a bit on the salty side. The overall presentation of the dish was thoughtful, and looked beautiful. Others at the table ordered the scallops (great dish, served in a fun bowl), and the elk loin, which looked like it was cooked perfectly (medium rare/nice red center). She told us she had been there since shortly after the diner first opened. Unfortunately, she also explained that the building is scheduled to be demolished so condos can be built above the property, and they are unsure whether the diner will be able to return afterward. It's honestly sad to hear about a place this good possibly being pushed out because of rising development and rental costs. I understand building owners want to maximize profits, but it's disappointing when small local businesses that people truly enjoy are forced out by higher rents and redevelopment.
