Gary was amazing at addressing all the issues with my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. He was honest, trustworthy, thorough, and very transparent. Went in for a check engine light and he sent me a picture of all the issues he found. He found a junk part that a previous auto shop had put in my vehicle and took it out to show me. He found a few oil leaks and walked me under the vehicle to check it out. He walked me through each issue, to discuss the importance, priority, and price of each part and costs of labor. When all said and done I was expecting to pay an arm and a leg - but he provided a VERY reasonable price. Our family uses Gary Brooks to repair all of our cars (4). He is honest and trust worthy and has never given us bad advice. His prices are reasonable and he never has done any work without speaking to us. He is the only person we take our cars to for repair because we know we can trust him. He specializes in repairs, but body work isn't his main job so with regards to the other reviewer's complaint I can't answer to that. Julian These people, including the boss, don't care about the client's well-being, they just want your money to get there because my van didn't start and it was there until the other day and the next day I asked the mechanic that it was and he told me he didn't know and I told him let me know the price several times before fixing it when he called me he told me is the sensor come look for $ 375 a lot of money to change the sensor of the 2001 Chevrolet Express van , but we reached an agreement and I get it under $ 350 three days later the sensor broke and I take it again and pay again the tow to the workshop they changed the sensor once more and they told me that if it breaks they will not change it more than what was broken was the distributor of current that if I wanted to change it I had to pay for that also apart when the distributor is to take out a screw and it comes out complete and when they sell it to you it comes with the sensor and with everything included I ask the mechanic how much the price was to change the Distributor and he told me i don't know it is according to the time it takes and them they tell you to leave the van and leave , and then you can pick it up when they change the Distributor I change the Distributor by myself it took me 10 min there to make you believe that it takes more time to charge you more money and then That is broken, they tell you that if you want we will remove it out well I went to my house and changed the Distributor but he left me with the light of the check engine on I go back so that even if they told me it was because they charged me 350 and they did not solve the problem at all and they told me that I have to pay them again if I wanted a reviction they called the owner and that is worse than they He not want either and he said call 911 I did not want problems but If they had called, they would have to give me my money back because they never solved the van problem and what they were for the first time is completely illegal to tell you the price after the problem is fixed they can tell you $ 1000 and that hour That you are going to do nothing pay $ 1000 I just wanted to know that it was the light to fix it myself I did not want to claim the money I had spent just wanted to go completely fixed but they refused to help me after they charged me money and did not solve the problem with these scammers. Had Gary Brooks at Brooks Repair do some body work on my Subaru to remove some rusty spots and weld in new metal for painting that was going to be done elsewhere. He quoted $1,000. for the work after looking it over carefully to make sure he had his cost covered. I accepted his offer. Picked up the car a little over a week later and was shocked to see that Gary had put two bolts, with the heads exposed on the outside, to attach each side of the rear bumper to the frame. Also, in rebuilding the two quarters with new metal where he had cut out the rust, the drivers side quarter was a completely different shape than the passenger side. Also, Gary didn't re-attach the rocker covers and they were sitting in the car. Gary Brooks has absolutely no idea what he is doing and takes no responsibility for his work. I've had Gary work on two of my cars and can't say enough great things about him. He is thorough, honest and half the price of the dealership. I will bring my wife's car to him next. He has more experience in American cars but depending on the problem you're having he'll tell you beforehand if he's not familiar with your foreign car so you don't waste your time and money. He's worked on my Mitsubishi twice and both times the work was done on time, correct, and half the price on the dealership. When I described an electrical problem I was also having he said it would take him way too long to try and diagnose that type of problem and for that case I should go a dealer who only deals in Mitsubishi. He has also worked on my Malibu and I will take my Honda and Acura to him when I need work done on those cars. The only downfall is that he's a one man shop so you may not be able to get in when you want if he has other cars he's working on. read more
